Printed& Published in Wales dated 1971 Condition: Very Very Good- no tears or marks. the map is pretty large when folded out) 1- Dunlop Width of Road Map South- East England; I do not see a date but there is an advertisement of cars that appear 1950's/60's maybe. Condition very good; however this map has a small tear on the top exterior where the map folds in half(not on the actual map though) no wrinkles or bends. 1- Deutschland- West Berlin Map Dated: 1966- this map folds out differently; it's in sections/pages instead of folding out. Also has A-Z reference pages in the back. It's written in German. Condition: Very Good. No wrinkles or bends or tears. 1- Geographers Visitor's London with full color underground map; No Date. This ... morefolds small enough to put in a purse. But too large for a pocket. Condition: Fair-good. I noticed 1 tear in the map. Some wrinkles from being folded. This map was used the most or handled with the least care, but still very presentable& useable. PLEASE NOTE: In order to keep the condition& integrity of the maps- I spent very little time with them unfolded. Glanced for any obvious signs of wear& tear. QUEENSLAND, AND VICTORIA FULL COLOR MAPS. These maps are from a very rare 1892 atlas entitled"Cram's Unrivaled Atlas of the World, Indexed" published by S. L. Bradley, 415 Dearborn Street, Chicago. This is a Grand New Census and World's Fair Edition. Maps are full color- very attractive and interesting! This map has New South Wales(scale of 1 inch equals about 50 miles) on one side and a map of Queensland(scale of 1 inch equals about 100 miles) on half the flip side and a map of the Victoria(scale of 1 inch equals about 55 miles) on the other half of the flip side. Pages are large, being either 14 1/2" x 10 3/4" or 11 5/8 x 14 1/2" with viewing ... morearea being approximately 12” x 9” a little more or a little less) on most of the maps. Each map has at least one edge that is not 100% razor straight where it was taken out of the binding mounted in the atlas. The larger pages have tiny perforations(see picture) along the binding edge where it was bound with cord. All pages are slightly yellowed from age but map colors are bright and clear. Maps may have small dog-eared corners or tiny pieces of corners missing. See individual pictures. These pages have light smudges in the margins; and the New South Wales map has a rusty line about 1 1/2 inches long in a margin. Every map has an atlas page number in one margin. What appears to be a lighter area on the map is from camera flash. Please contact seller if you have any questions or need a more detailed description of a particular map. This map deserves to be framed and would look great hanging in your office! Would make a wonderful gift! Comes from a smoke-free. Pet-free home. Neat little book printed in 1951. It is John Speed's Atlas of England and Wales- Forty plates from John's Speed's pocket atlas of 1627. Hardback. Measures 7 x 4.5" and has cool colorful maps inside. The first page inside the cover is a replica of the cover and looks like it was glued onto the page(see pic 2) I don't know if this is how it was when it was brand new. The back of the book is pic#4. There is normal wear and tear to the cover with just a few small stains. There is a bit of pencil writing inside. Very nice shape. Offered here are Six 1890 dated maps of England and Wales. Map one shows all of England and Wales. Map two shows Northern England, Map three shows Southeastern England, Map four shows South Central England, Map five shows Western England and Map six shows Southwestern England. The actual map measures approximately 11.5 by 26 inches and they were removed from the Library Reference Atlas of the World by John Bartholomew. Both maps are in good condition though there is crease down the center where the map was bound into the book. The white streak in some of my photos is the reflection from my flash. Can't seem to get rid of it. I have had some of these maps professional framed and they look great. If you are not satisfied, I will refund your money less shipping. The map is 45.5cm x 38cm and comes unframed The perfect Present for those with a love of local History. A Little Bit About Robert Morden(c.1650-1703) was a British bookseller, publisher, and maker of maps and globes. He was among the first successful commercial map makers. Between about 1675 and his death in 1703, he was based under the sign of the Atlas at premises in Cornhill and New Cheapside, London. His cartographical output was large and varied. His best known maps are those of South Wales, North Wales and the English Counties first published in a new edition of Camden's"Britannia" in 1695, and subsequently reissued in 1722, 1753 and 1772. ... moreThese maps were based on new information from gentlemen of each county, and were newly engraved. Each had a decorated cartouche, and showed numerous place names[1] Morden also produced in 1701 a series of smaller county maps often known as Miniature Mordens. In 1695 he published a map of Scotland. It is in parts(e.g. Skye and the Western Isles) essentially a copy of the 1654 map done by Robert Gordon of Straloch, published by Joan Blaeu; other parts show evidence of more accurate cartography. Antique maps of Europe from an atlas published in the late 19th Century. One side has the British Isles(England. Scotland, Ireland, Wales) and the other side has the continent of Europe. This is an original page from 1894, not a reprint or copy. Because the page is double-sided, only one side can be displayed at once. However, there are no copyright restrictions on the maps so one of the sides could be copied if you'd like to display both. Condition: Good. Aging around the margins, which just adds to the appeal of the old map. The paper is fairly fragile, so map page will need to be protected from less than careful handling. Note: the page was just a bit too big for the scanner, so part of the margin area is not shown. World War One Ordnance Survey 32 Linen Flying Maps Air Packet no53 Admiralty War Office Intelligence Division June 1916 complete. Measure 12x12 inches.Cover slightly grubby with some small stains to reverse.Maps in Very Good Condition. Not seen these Maps before must be rare examples of early flying Maps.Not much info on the Internet but found this info from the late Tim Nicholson. The first known aviation map predates the First World War by several years. Although even before this, in 1910, Flight' magazine was commending the Ordnance Survey's layered half-inch(2 miles to the inch, or approximately 1:125,000) scale map as the best compromise for"motorists and aviators" as its use of contour layering of colour was useful in showing elevations at a glance to the pilot. The issue was discussed at a meeting of the British Association ... morein 1911, and this standard OS half-inch map was criticised for being on too large a scale, a smaller scale being necessary to the pilot to keep the map sheet down to a manageable size. It was also pointed out that the map should be as free of unneccessary ground'clutter' as possible, but with features of use to aviators identified prominently(roads, railways, towns, airfields) Following on from this meeting a map for military aviators, a coloured map at the standard quarter-inch scale(4 miles to the inch, or approx. 1:250,000) was drawn up by the Geographical Section of the General Staff(GSGS) for the British Army manoeuvres of 1911, and although the British manoeuvres were cancelled that year it was used in the subsequent manoeuvres held in 1912. Normal topographical detail was almost entirely absent from the map, and it was reduced to emphasising what a pilot would be able to pick out from the air- roads were depicted as white lines on an olive-green base, towns were red, woods were green, whilst water courses and railways were in heavy blue and black respectively. Landmarks such as church spires, and even individual trees, were emphasised in heavy black. The

1911 Genuine Antique Color Maps of Australia & New South Wales, from Cram Atlas
This offering features an authentic large highly-detailed George Cram. Multi-color map of Australia. The map was extracted from an unsalvageable George Cram Modern Atlas-the World, published in 1911. The last two photos validate the origin of the map and its publishing date. As a bonus. The back of this map includes a beautiful two-page multi-color map of New South Wales. The map of Australia has a total page size of 11" wide x 15-1/8" long. And an image size of 10" wide x 12-3/4" long. The map of New South Wales has a total page size of 15-1/8" wide x 22-1/4" long, and an image size of 13-1/2" wide x 20-1/8" long. The condition of both maps is excellent, with only a little yellowing of the white margins and one or two minor tears on the edge of the white margin. Cary's'Traveller's Companion' or a Delineation of the Turnpike Roads of England and Wales' London 1824. The book measures approx' 7.5" by 5" and contains 43 hand-coloured county maps in generally excellent condition with no surface staining or foxing. Each map measures approx' 5" by 3.5" plus title(except Yorkshire which is a times 8 pull-out) and is printed with a blank reverse. Faults are a 1.25" tear to the Yorkshire Map(photo 10) with a longer tear that has been'repaired' by strengthening from the reverse as is the first map of England and Wales(photo 7) The spine is missing below the title which itself is torn(photo 4) The covers which are of'swirled marble' with worn leather corners are loose but intact. Following the 43 maps is a five page list of the Market Towns(photo ... more11) plus 141 Route lists from London to the Provinces(photo 12) Four pages of Advertisements conclude the volume. Interestingly the development of the railway system provides a helpful dating mechanism- the"rail lines" shown on these maps are"Tram Roads" and the maps are therefore likely to predate the 1850's.
