You are looking at an extremely rare Ordnance Survey map which was published by the War office. It includes the correct relation of grid letters and sheet numbers. As seen it also includes a number of extra items which were at the time classified. The publication was undertaken by The Geographical Section. General Staff. No. 3908 at the War Office in 1933. The title is: Sheet Number 39 Dufftown& Huntley. Aberdeenshire, Banffshire& Morayshire. The outer size of the map is almost 26" high(650cm) by 35" long(890cm) The actual map surface being 20" by 29" 510cm by 740cm) It was first surveyed in 1863/71 and revised in 1926/7 As seen in the photo the item is in good condition with no damage. Condition: The map is in Good condition for its age with overall tonal aging and original handcoloring as issued. Blank on the reverse, printed on a strong flexible page, not brittle, basically as seen in the pics. There is some creasing on the upper right corner, slight darkening around the margins and wear on the corners as seen, otherwise it is very clean with a nice antique quality on strong paper that would frame up nicely. This large vintage British Admiralty Decca nautical chart is titled"Scotland- East Coast. Sheet I, BERWICK TO ABERDEEN. Publication information: London. Published at the Admiralty, 1887. Small corrections to 1956. Hand corrections to 1960. Chart# L(D3) 1407 Dimensions: 28" X 52" 71cm X 132cm) Chart shows east coast of Scotland from Berwick to Aberdeen. There are four beautifully engraved landfall diagrams on this chart. With a particularly large and detailed one showing a view of the coast between Girdleness and the mouth of the River Don. This chart is in very good condition. It has been used and there are a couple of navigational courses charted on it in pencil that were at a later point erased. There is some very faint smudging in power portion of chart and one small, very light stain just above Arbroath. Antique J. Bartholomew Map of Aberdeen Hotels in Scotland - foam brd & shr wrap
This antique map of Aberdeen. Scotland noting area hotels was done by John Bartholomew out of Edinburgh. They were in business in the early 1900s. I believe it came out of an atlas or book of maps from that time period. It is 6 1/2" by 4 3/8" It is in color and in good condition as it has been preserved by placing it on 1/8" thick poster board and enclosing it in shrink wrap.
