Speed's atlas consisted of sixty-seven maps- complemented by descriptive and informative text- of all the counties and regions of England, Wales, Scotland, and ireland. he acknowledged that the maps were based on the work of earlier surveyors, but his atlas offered a totality that no contemporaneous cartographer had accomplished. In addition, Speed's atlas was notable because each map included a plan of the most important town in the county; in many cases Speed's were the first maps of those towns ever printed. Whether Speed drew them himself we do not know: for one man to visit and map sixty or more towns scattered from Penzance to berwick and from Canterbury to Carlisle would have been a monumental undertaking in Stuart-era England It is more likely that he commissioned the maps from local surveyors. Michigan that killed 38 elementary school children. Six adults, and also injured at least 58 other people. Kehoe first killed his wife, fire-bombed his farm and set off a major explosion in the Bath Consolidated School. And then committed suicide ... moreby detonating a final explosion in his truck. It is the deadliest mass murder in a school in United States history. Andrew Kehoe. The 55 year old school board treasurer. Was angry after his defeat in the Spring 1926 election for township clerk. He was thought to have planned his"murderous revenge" after that public defeat and he had a reputation for difficulty on the school board and in personal dealings. In addition. In June 1926 he was notified that his mortgage was going to be foreclosed. For much of the next year, a neighbor noticed Kehoe had stopped working on his farm and thought he might be planning suicide. During that period. And he had stopped making mortgage payments; he was under pressure for foreclosure. Vintage cobalt blue glass eye bath - Wood Bros 1930s?
This is a vintage glass eye wash bath which came from my grandparents' house. It is oval in shape. For applying to the eyes, and is 1 3/4" long, 1 1/2" wide and stands 2 1/2" tall. It is pressed glass, cobalt blue in colour, and has the moulded mark on the bottom"Made in England" and a"W" in an octagonal box in the centre, which I understand is the makers mark for Wood Brothers in the 1930s. In excellent condition with no damage; there is some slight roughness on the upper side of the base from the moulding process where excess glass has been trimmed off at the joint of the mould.

Up for bids are four matching heavy cast iron antique claw feet for an antique cast iron free standing bathtub. They are all in good solid condition with no cracks or breaks to the cast iron and just need cleaned a little bit more and repainted. One has a few casting flaws that could be filled in before painting or could just be put on the back side of the tub. I don't know the maker but there are some serial numbers on the back side of the feet. The feet stand 7 1/2" high from top to bottom. Overall a very nice solid set of antique bathtub feet with lots of character.

1910's Mission Bath or Kitchen Sconces Wall Lamps brass dual double Please read everything carefully before purchasing. This buy it now price is for 1 of the 3 matching double sconces. The shades are marked Holophanes. XE-40 some are also marked patented 1912. This Uno shadeholder style was used 1912 and into the 20's. Some of the Holophanes have flea bites on the ribs no worse than the ones pictured by my fingers. I don't sell items that are obviously damaged but I am not going to document every little flaw-these items are old and used but in good recondition. These sconces were designed to fit over a sink or vanity. This wall lamp has been washed, paint and most dings removed, and waxed. The canopy bell is 5 inches in diameter and will cover a standard outlet box. The wall sconces stick out about 10 1/2 inches, they are about ... more16"wide and 10" top to bottom. They should match well with a rubbed bronze finish on your hardware. The paddle switches are circle F NOS(new old stock) porcelain fat boy sockets-that work well with a crisp click. Easy installation ready, the mounting hardware has been upgraded with ground. Look closely at the pictures, there are minor dings-these are not new. Very rare toilet tissue. Or paper holder, marked"ART BRASS CO. N.Y. This vintage tissue holder is still in good, useable condition, with the old original wooden roller. It is very beautiful, with all the Art Deco metal scroll work. There is some tarnish spots on this tissue holder, and some old paint, on the back side, see picture. The pair of shades that are photographed and the sconces that are shown together as a pair are the ones in this auction. These are a matching pair of porcelain deco bathroom sconces(or wherever you would like) These Paulding wall lamps were made in the 30's and the design was produced into the 50's when they reissued wall lights from the same molds with polarized outlets. This pair has both sconces wired with an active outlet if you need one and they are polarized. It is your responsibility to ensure that these meet your local code. The original sockets-switches have been cleaned and lubed. They were designed to go on either side of the mirror above a sink. They will fit any standard box-4 1/2" wide by 6 1/4" tall ... moreon the backs. 7 1/4"tall with shades and pull chain, and stick out 4 5/8" from the wall. The slip in or drop in solid opal milk glass shades are damage free outside of normal manufacturing roughness. These shades were originally a choice for these fixtures unlike the clear glass with enamel coating shades which are often found for sale with this period style. This pair has a very small void in the casting that was glazed over so it was during manufacture. It is right below my finger in the 8th picture. The shades(at least one of them) are very opalescent and show a reddish tint. Not very noticeable but the price is lowest on this pair. This item is from an old estate that was located in south east Kansas during the coal mining years. I DO NOT HAVE ANY DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE THIS. AUCTIONEER QUOTE ONLY. The size of these huge legs are 8" tall and 5 1/2" wide approx. Their outer image is in excellent shape and condition. The talon is very outstanding and easily seen. The tops on the legs have the scallop curtain swag look with a 3 D look/border midway down on the leg. These are the hard ones to find. PLEASE BE ADVISE(one on the legs) the part that supports the bath tub needs to be repaired.This can be done with brazing or nickel rod welding. These cast iron legs weight close to 20 lbs.
