Creighton and engraved by J.C. Walker as stated in small print in the bottom margin. It is from Samuel Lewis' Topographical Dictionary of England. Also stated in the bottom margin. Published in London by Lewis& Co. 1831, a copy fo the volume IV title page is included. Overall a very nice map in great condition that would frame up nicely, printed on heavy paper with the copper plate marks embossed around the margins and blank on the reverse with a horizontal and three vertical folds as issued. The map is not matted nor framed, being sold as a single individual sheet ... moreas shown in the pic. Size: The map image area measures 15 by 18 1/2 inches on a 16 1/2 by 22" page with a wide margin all around. Condition: The map is in Good condition for its age. Blank on the reverse, in its original uncolored state as issued, basically as seen in the pic. There have been some repairs made on the reverse with Japanese paper reinforcing tears at the ends of the folds, the longest about four inches and a couple of short edge tears. There is some light browning as seen in thepics and backprinting, otherwise it is fairly clean in general. The paper is an off white buff color of heavy quality. See the pic for more on condition. It was printed by Chromolithography utilizing zinc plates eteched in relief. The labeling language is in German. In general, the Andrees maps are exceptional for their detail and vibrant color, which are among the best of the late 19th century maps. The map is being sold unmatted or framed as seen in the first pic, printed on a large heavy sheet, blank ... moreon the reverse with a centerfold as issued. Overall a beautiful map in great condition. There is a nice inset of the environ around Vienna. Size: The map image area from neat line to neat line measures approximately 14 1/2 by 17 1/2 inches(37x44cm) on a 17 1/2 by 22" 44x56cm) page with a margin all around for framing. Condition: The map is in Very Good condition for its age with vibrant color on a bright sheet. There are a couple of small dampstains on the edge and some light browning in the margins. Otherwise it is very clean with a strong impression and rich color that would frame up well. It is much better than shown in the pic. The pics are of the actual map. In accordance with this vindictive vengeful attempt by Hitler was an even stronger fight by the brave RAF and many Ace pilots such as Roland"Bee" Beaumont. Pinky" Stark, and Wing Commander Joe Berry, to streak towards these winged bastards in their Tempests and Typhoons and shoot them down, or give them the"tip wing" which threw off the gyros and made them stall and crash. In June of that year he was posted to flying Mosquito's. Fighter Command formed a special flight of Tempests to intercept the V1's which had begun falling all over south-east England. With this flight operating mainly by night. Over the next two months Joseph was to establish himself as the top-scorer against these bastard robots in the Tempest. Shooting down 52 and one shared by early August. On July 23 1944. He set the record, claiming seven in one night. Four nights later he pursed one at low level over West Malling airfield. Closing to 100 feet in order to ensure he destroyed it before it fell on the base. His own aircraft was damaged in the resultant explosion. On August 16 1944. The Tempest flight moved to Manston to reform 501 Squadron, of which Berry became commanding officer. The unit continued to hunt V1's, and he personally accounted for seven more, receiving a Bar to his DFC during September. During th

Now here's a Vintage UK Road Atlas with a twist! Called AUTO-MAPPIC A very unusual and quirky compact device in a tough plastic housing. I guess was a stab at trying to do away with all the annoying folding and unfolding of road maps which quite quickly mad them rip and tear, not mention tearing your hair out! Anyhow. It has 6 sliders either side that you move up or down(both must be moved at the same time) and that changes the map to the next section- quite ingenious really!
