The cord has been misplaced or lost and the globe dates 1976 ... moreso I'm not able to get another one. I'm not sure if they even make them now. It is so beautiful even unlit. and extremely detailed. This globe has every little detail you can think of including trade winds. And other information used in maritime maneuvering. The scale is 1.31 but I did run a measuring tape it it appears to be approx 16 to 17 inches in diameter so it is a very large globe. Also, it's quite heavy[6 to 7 pounds after packing] and the base it sits on allows for easy gliding for easy searching. Also notice, it doesn't say Russia because in 1976 it was still the USSR. They are printed on paper that is not acid free and in most cases have not been stored in the best way. So the maps you are buying will be in a condition that reflects both of these facts. The map you get may be worn or lightly torn along the fold lines due to the acidity of the paper and being folded for years. They may also be discolored or mottling spots again due to the acidity of the paper. The borders of the maps may also have small tears. On occasion maps may smell musty from the way they have been stored in the past. When the map is kept in an open area the musty smell will fade away in time. Any damage that is above and beyond the norm will be disclosed. Payment through Paypal only. Payment is required within four days. I do combine multiple purchases for shipping. They will be sent flat and will require a signature for pick up to protect your investment. Many are original National Geographic maps. They seem to range from the early to late 1920’s– 40’s. They are beautiful if I do say so and that is why I grabbed them originally. My kids are grown now and we no longer use them for educational purposes. So. Off they go. Will it be to you?
