These dolls were made by a woman in the late 60's and early 70's by a woman who thought the major toy companies did not represent the female tv stars of the late 60's. She did Marilyn Munster. Agent 99, Ellie Mae Clampett and I think there were 3 or 4 others. It was a great idea but she did not put enough emphasis on quality so the dolls are more of a very cool novelty item. She sold them through Toy Shop magazine among other places in the days before ebay and they are quite hard to find. This one had never been opened until I did so to take the picture. Wood Portrait of Herman and L i ly Munster For your consideration is a hand made Portrait of Herman and Lily Munster. The frame measures 15" x 12" My photos do not make this look good. One of those things you need to see in person or I should take better photos, I'll take more photos and post them on the bottom of the page later on in the auction. The portrait was made by a self employed craftsman using pieces of wood pieced together like a puzzle. Glued and coated with polyurethane to protect the wood and give it a sheen. Some of the pieces were hand painted, others were simply stained and coated. I purchased this on ebay in 2008. Date and signature of the craftsman is on the back, see photos. The sticker on the back is from the frame purchased not the wood portrait. The background the wood is mounted on is black cardboard, ... moreit looks purple in the photos for some reason. It is time to let everything go due to the fact I have moved to a cruddy little apartment and have no room for anything and other reasons only Herman and Lily would understand. I get great comments on this piece from my friends. If you are a Munster fan you need this on your wall. How could you possibly live without it? I don't know if the original seller is still on ebay. AMT Grandpa Munster "Dragula" Built
This is a built Munster's. Grandpa Munster, Dragula. This was the drag race car that Grandpa Munster built to compete with the Coach. It is painted gold by hand, and is not bad. All the suspension pieces are glued and complete except the long suspension bar that goes down the drivers side of the casket. Some of the pieces are loose. The decals are added to the grave marker on the front and the window at the back. The exhaust is glued into place, and painted black at the tips. The engine is also glued into the chassis, and has the blowers coming out of an opening in the casket, they have the openings also painted black. The back tires have some glue marks on them. The wheels have also been pained black. The inside of the cars parts are loose, and can be glued back into place. The shifter has fallen out, and is loose from the car. The steering ... morewheel has been pained white and red. The back wheels do not have the plastic pieces glued to the axle. The back bar has also been painted, and is loose. There were big truck red marker lights glued where the lights go. There is also with this the unused decals, and the cardboard diorama for the car. This was one of the re-released kits a short time ago, and has been built since maybe Christmas. I lost the pieces to the surfboard so they are also not with the kit. The headlights are now missing. Ben Cooper, Brooklyn, N.Y. comes this complete Lily Munster costume in its original cello window, color illustrated box. Girl's size medium(8-10) it appears to have been used once. I doubt twice and then stored. Costume includes the original double sided dress with loosely hanging sleeves. Main part of the dress is black with white. Factory applied details. Sleeves are lemon yellow with matching black trim. The neck of the dress is trimmed in red and ties in the back. Applied details include rope knotted sash, flying bats, scalloped"lace" over the upper chest, a linked chain across the front of the neck with a large 8" wide bat hanging from it and"Lily Munster" printed ... morejust above it. The material is a 100% rayon and which gives it a sheen depending on how it faces a light source. ROYAL MUNSTER FUSILIERS LARGE RACCOON FUR CAP GRENADE BADGE ONLY ORIGINAL
This is a beautiful large grenade badge for the raccoon fur fusilier cap of the Royal Irish Fusiliers. I suspect that it dates from just before WWI. The regiment was disbanded in 1922. It is quite large: 3 inches tall. And is in excellent condition. There appear to be traces of original gilt on the front of the badge, which is part of what convinces me that it is an original, along with the fact that I have never owned one before. It is extremely well made and very detailed, with three coronets displayed on a shield. The Royal Munster Fusiliers were originally the part of the army of the Honourable East India Company. With antecedents dating back to 1653! They became the 101th Regiment of Foot in 1862 when the regiments of the Company became part of the British Army. 1588 Munster Map- Untitled Sebastian Munster was responsible for the most complete of early illustrated geographies when he produced his'Cosmographia' in the early 1540's. Perhaps only Schedel's'Nuremberg Chronicle' had a greater impact on the early Renaissance view of the world. Munster used a variety of woodcut views and maps to complete a very detailed view of Europe. With more speculative items for other continents. Cosmographia' was a great success and went through many editions into the early 1600's. The map shows Asia Minor. Basically present day Turkey, as well as Crete in the south west, Constantinople(Istanbul) on the European side of the Bosphorus, the southern coast of the Black Sea and an unnamed Cyprus. Nice original 1593 medieval leaf, Sebastian Munster Cosmography
Hello. And thanks for looking. Please excuse any not-so-great pics; still getting the hang of it. This is a very nice original leaf from the 1593 edition of Sebastian Munster's Cosmography(Das Anser Buch) Which was one of the most important early gergraphic works created. There were about 40 editions published between 1544 and 1628. This leaf id from the 1593 German edition. It measures about 12" by 7 3/4" and is from the section about Italy. One side discusses Sicily and others(then kingdoms) the other, which features a few illustrations, discusses Naples. The script is in German, of course, in a gothis style. There's a small old repair to the upper right corner of the"Sicily" side, but either side still displays beautifully. It's in overall remarkabke condition due to the rag paper used, and would look fantastic ... moreframed. A piece of 420-year-old history! Scarce, but not ridiculously so. As per ebay rules.
