Superb Vintage Sterling Silver Miniature Afghan Hound Dog from London dated 1976
Superb Vintage Cast Sterling Silver Dolls House or Miniature Afghan Hound Dog form London dated 1976 This Delightful Vintage Miniature Dog Figure measures approximately 2 3/4 inches or 70 mm in length from its tail to its nose by 1/2 an inch or 13 mm across the widest part of its body from side to side and it stands 1 7/8 inches or 47 mm tall to the top of its head. The figure is made from 44.7 grams of cast sterling silver in the miniature form of a standing Afghan Hound like dog that has a raised relief decorated body to give the dog its definition. The dog has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below and one side of its tail has been impressed with a full set of English sterling silver imported item hallmarks that include the importer or sponsors mark I over BB along with the mark of ... morethe London assay office. It also has a 925 standard sterling silver mark that is along side the London assay office stylized date letter B for 1976. The condition is used and near Mint for its age. The miniature dog has No Dents. No Splits, No Cracks, No Holes and No Repairs that I can find, the dog stands upright, the decoration and definition is crisp, the silver hallmark is still clearly legible although as this is a used vintage miniature dog figure it does have some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use along with the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would not go amiss. This is for the person wanting a sextant that is small. Sturdy, easy viewing, adjustable ... moremirrors, sturdy mounted telescope. The sextant itself is quite detailed. Slow Motion adjustment with 4 glass( not plastic, very important, all of ours are glass) filter lenses, and large swing arm, reflective mirrors, longer adjustable telescope than most 4 inch sextants.
