The map is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. A very nice map in great shape. Size: The map image measures approximately 8 by 10 1/2 inches on a 9 by 11 1/2" page with a margin all around for matting as seen in the pic. Condition: It is in Very Good condition for its age with overall light tonal ageing. There are a couple of minor light stains in the margin as seen. Otherwise it is very clean with nice color that would frame up well, see the pics for more on condition. It is blank on the reverse with original hand coloring. MAPPIN& WEBB Pair quality HALLMARKED SOLID SILVER Glove Stretchers London 1909 This auction is for a quality pair of antique glove stretchers from Mappin& Webb. They are fully hallmarked for London solid silver(lion passant and leopard's head) together with a date letter of. I think, o' for 1909. There is additionally the maker's mark of M&W for Mappin& Webb plus'Mappin& Webb' engraved on the shaft. The handles have a very attractive raised border in reeded style with further inner engraving. The sprung hinge is beautifully engineered and works beautifully. There are a couple of dints at the'pointed end' from use but otherwise the stretchers are excellent. They measure 9.25 inches(23.5 cm) long and weigh 80g.

This is a very good Antique Solid Silver Victorian Water Jug. It is of a baluster shape with a spreading circular pedestal base. It has a part swirl reeded pattern to the base of the body and an embossed border around the top part just under the rim. Which is also mirrored on the hinged circular domed lid, which has a flame shaped finial. London, ca.1680. His son, Francis Nelme, took over the business on his death in 1722 and continued to run it until 1739 when Thomas Whipham(d.1756) took over. On his death his son Thomas Whipham went into partnership with Charles ... moreWright. In 1775 Whipham withdrew from the business and in 1786 Charles Wright amalgamated the firm with neighbouring silversmith Thomas Chawner and his son Henry Chawner. Thomas Chawner was the master of Edward Barnard(d.1855) and on the amalgamation Edward Barnard became the foreman of the company. In 1796 Chawner took an engraver, John Emes, into partnership and when he retired Emes became the sole owner and Edward Barnard became the firm's manager. On Emes' death in 1808 Edward Barnard went into partnership with the widowed Rebecca Emes and Henry Chawner who acted as a sleeping partner. The firm traded as Emes& Barnard. The binoculars have a n aged patina to both the faux tortoise shell and brass. The eyepieces and lenses do have interior spotting but still give a good clear view. They would benefit from a clean to the inner lenses although this cant be obviously seen when using the binoculars. Unfortunately the faux tortoise shell has suffered some damage and loss due to their age and use with cracks and missing pieces showing to the eyepieces and eye rims. Vintage Antique Brass Kitchen Faucet Hot & Cold Stitsons London. Nice Shape
You are bidding on an antique Kitchen Faucet in brass with the porcelain hot and cold handles that say Stitsons London and that have an"H" in red and a"C" in light blue. This was rescued from an old house. The faucet is about 8 or 9 inches across(7 is the center of the feeds for hot and cold water)and stands about 10 inches above the sink with the 2 or three inches below. The faucet has two separate handles for hot and cold and a curved spout that can move left and right. The handles move easily. This is a handsome and interesting looking faucet for a restoration or renovation project. I have no idea if this works. But it was taken from an old sink, so I imagine it was more than decoration. Both the milk jug and sugar bowl have interior gilding. The set is of half lobbed pattern with oval stepped bases. The handles of all 3 pieces are very secure and the lid of the teapot closes perfectly. The sugar bowl and the milk jug are initialled with the letters ISU. The teapot has an attractive finial. Is hallmarked for 1894(the other 2 pieces 1893) but not initialled. A very attractive Victorian silver tea service in excellent condition. An important George III kettle on matching stand by eminent British silversmith. John Scofield in London 1791. Of a plain squat form with a fixed cane-bound handle. Apparently featureless, but is mentioned and illustrated in two reference books on antique English silver. The reason lies in its construction. The body is raised out of one piece of flat sheet silver. No seams or joins. It is a long and arduous process of beating and plannishing the silver sheet round a shaped anvil until the end is achieved. Even more remarkable is the fact that the body is oval. Antique wood toy London General Omnibus advertising very early very rare
You are looking a very early wood toy. It is an early horse bus. The London General Omnibus Company(LGOC) was founded in London in 1855 and was soon the largest public transportation company in London. The first omnibuses were horse drawn. This one would have run between Picadilly circus and Charings cross. One of the earliest horsebus routs in London. In around 1900 gasoline omnibuses(Omnibus type B) were also being used. By around 1906 horse buses were phased out. I think this toy was made around 1860 or so. The bus measures 9" long. 7" high and 5-1/2" wide.The graphics on all four sides are still sharp and colors are still bright, the patina is amazing. There is a small piece of paper on the back at the bottom that is loose and needs to be repaired, other than that the paper graphics are about 95% As I was researching this ... moreidem I learned quite a bit about The LGOC, and saw lots of Omnibus toys but could not find any like it, or as early as this one. Rudall Carte and Company London Flute 1369
Rudall Carte and Company of London Flute. I believe the flute is made of Grenadilla or rosewood. The stamp on the flute reads: Rudall Carte and Co 23 Berners Street Oxford Street London 1369" The flute measures 25 3/4" in length from end to end and 22 and 3/4" from the center of the mouth hole to the end. The pads appear to be in decent shape. There is a crack in the head. But the body and barrel are free from cracks. The pipe below the head is not cracked, only the outer cover. The tuning cork is in good shape and moves freely.

66PC Set Reed& Barton Silver Plated Flatware OLD LONDON 1936 This is a very pretty set and all pieces are in good used condition! Each piece could stand a good cleaning as the set has been in storage for a number of years. Each piece has scratches from use over the years as you can see when you look at the pictures. There are a few pieces that have a little damage and they are as follows. One dinner knife has met the garbage disposal in that the blade on the end is a little bent as you can see in the picture. Also 2 of the dinner knives each have a small engraving. One says what I think is a D and the other says UNION. I have shown these in the last 2 pictures as you can see. I am thinking that these 2 may have been added to the set at some point that is why there is the engraving because that is not the case on the other pieces. One ... moreof the soup/place spoons has met the same disposal as you can see in one of the other pictures. One of the butter spreaders has a small area on the back of one that is either dirt or shows plate loss. I am leaning more towards plate loss, I have shown this as well. Two of the salad forks have slightly bent teeth but that is about normal in an old set like this. Other than a good polish I do not see any other issues. Each piece is properly marked on the reverse as you can see. The set includes 10 dinner knives that each measure 9 inches in length, 6 dinner forks that each measure 7 1/8 inches. Then there are 2 gumbo spoons that each measure 6 inches in length, 9 place/soup spoons that each measure 7 1/8 inches. Then there are 11 teaspoons that each measure 5 7/8 inches in length, 12 salad forks that each measure 6 1/4 inches in length, 6 flat butter spreaders that each measure 5 5/8 inches, 8 seafood forks that each measure 5 3/4 inches. Then there is a cold meat fork that measures 8 7/8 inches in length and a master butter that measures 7 3/8 inches in length. This is a very nice set regardless of its faults and it would a great addition to any table setting! My Policies: Payment
