A Victorian sterling silver 3 piece cruet set consisting of a pair of pepperettes& mustard pot. Unusual bulbous shape(melon shape) standing on 4 curved legs. Ornate finials. The mustard lid has a beaded rim& shaped handle. Size: Pepperettes approx 9cms height. Mustard pot 9cms length x 5cms height. Total weight 166gms. Date: C1900. Marks: Hallmarks(all rubbed but mostly legible) London. Lion; date letter for C1901; maker Edward Barnard& Sons. Also hallmarked again inside the lids. Hallmarked to the base of the mustard by same maker and date letter for C1900. Again fully marked under the lid. A sign of quality to have so many marks. Condition: Good. Wear commensurate with age and use. There are some surface dings to the pepperettes. One seems a little misshapen& the finial is also leaning(the other is fine) I am quite sure ... morethe one could be straightened. The mustard pot is very good with no damage. Is missing its liner but these are not difficult to get. I suppose in the scheme of things these would be destined for the melting pot but this is such an attractive set. Set of 6 Antique Sterling Silver Fiddle Pattern Tea Spoons by William Eaton of London dated 1834 Each Antique Tea Spoon measures approximately 5 7/8 inches or 1 50 mm in length from the end of its handle to the front rim of its bowl by 3/ 4 of an inch or 19 mm across the widest part of its upper handle from side to side and it is just over 1 1/ 4 inches or 32 mm across the widest part of its bowl from side to side. All 6 spoons are made from sterling silver and they have a combined silver weight of 186.4 grams. Each tea spoon has a delightfully simple fiddle pattern or shaped handle with an oval shaped bowl and the spoons have Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below. This is a beautiful matched pair of silver berry spoons made in the reign of King George III in London 1764. One by James Jones and the other by Thomas Tookey. The spoons have classic oval bowls with crimped top rim and chased and textured fruits/ berries to the inside of the bowl. The spoons have beautiful tapering stems with chased lattice decoration and flowers running down both sides. The tops of the spoons have vacant shield cartouches. The spoons are 1-3/4 inches/ 45 mm wide across the bowl and one is 8-1/4 inches/ 210 mm in length and the other 8 inches/ 204 mm in length. The spoons weigh 112 grams. The underside of the spoons have hallmarks- lion ... morepassant. London mark, letter J for 1764 and maker's mark JJ for James Jones and T*T for Thomas Tookey. WW 2 London AFS fireman's uniform(coat& pants)Very heavy dark blue wool(blanket weight) This original uniform was the type used in the 1940's London blitz though I have no proof that this uniform was in the blitz. Size about medium and in very good condition for it being about 70 years old! I photographed this in my back yard and what appear to be be light spots on the garments are actually real light reflections from a pool. There are no light spots on the uniform! This is truly a great museum quality collectible uniform. The Blitz The first targeted air raid on London took place on 7 September 1940 and marked the beginning of the Blitz when London was bombed for 57 nights in a row. Firemen were constantly at work. Not only putting out fires but dealing with explosions. Bombs in warehouses were especially dangerous due to the ... moreproducts they stored, for example, highly flammable alcohol and paint. This is a really outstanding GEORGIAN large and heavy solid sterling silver teapot which was made in London. England in 1821 by the illustrious Georgian silversmith, William Fountain at his King Street workshops. This wonderfully stylish and fine quality tea pot is in superb condition. This wonderful teapot is in a large oval design with a capped scroll handle. An impressive spout with gorgeous acanthus leaf decoration and is raised on a high pedestal base. It has a stunning finial and is embossed and engraved with gorgeous detailed decoration- STUNNING. It is engraved with a large, very detailed armorial crest to one side. The teapot measures about 4 1/2" deep, 10 1/8" from spout to handle and stands ... more8 3/8" tall. It is VERY substantial- it weighs 1006.6 grams- well over 32 1/4 troy oz. Its capacity is a full 2 1/2 imperial pints! The teapot is in superb condition with less than the usual light surface scratching with NO dents and only a very few dings- SUPERB. Just a little professional reinforcement subsequent to an erasure. The handle is firm as is the finial. The lid has little play and NO spring. It is hallmarked to the side with WF in script, lion passant(sterling silver assay mark) crowned leopard head, a, George III duty mark(all somewhat rubbed) showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1821.
