Up for auction is an original"The Popular Atlas of the World" published in 1892 By Mast Crowell& Kirkpatrick from 927 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia Pa& Sprinfield Ohio. Atlas is filled with original old colorful maps. State historical data, Country historical data and statistics, Population data, etc. Condition is poor with the cover separated. Exterior spine missing, damage to some pages, and browning/toning to edges. Atlas does appear to be complete and is approx 220 pages- the vast majority of the pages are intact, but many of the first are separated from the spine. It is the official road map of Maine and also has a separate map of the maritime provinces. There is a handy mileage chart. Folded it measures 9" x 4" Op en ed up it measures 23.75" x 18" The map is in good condition with just a couple 1/4" tears on one edge and two 1/4" splits along one fold line. It is clean and very legible. The Maine Official Highway map of 1948, The Land of Remembered Vacations" was produced by the Maine Development Commission. I'm not sure why this grouping of items is being sold together except that i found them all in the same box at an estate so you get it all just as i found it! Hopefully the pics will tell you enough to know what you're looking at. 1) is a nice old French map that is 35" x 30" and has fabric backing 2) is an old map that looks kinda nautical. It's 42" x 26' and is on heavy paper 3) is a Plan de Paris which has a pull out map inside 4) is a one sheet about some steamer lines and 5) is an old poster that is on the most delicate paper ever and is not in perfect shape by any means so it all makes some sense together.
