Vintage Maps of Palo Alto Belmont and San Carlos-Map of the Board of Realtors
This auction is for 4 older maps of Palo Alto 27.5x16.5 showing Atherton. Menlo Park, Mountain View and Los Altos. Read your hometown daily newspaper Palo Alto Times. This one has some soil and holes of the folds. There is an Official Map of the Board of Realtors of Belmont, Burlingame, Foster City, Hillsborough, Millbrae and San Mateo. This one has lots of marks on the outer covers. The San Carlos map is compliments of the chamber of commerce, which was published by the Redwood City Tribune. It too has soil, color change, watermarks and a few holes from age and handling. The Belmont is also published by the Tribune compliments of Belmont Chamber of Commerce. These are original vintage maps which were carefully removed from the 1914 printing of The New Encyclopedic Atlas and Gazetteer of the World. The item measures approximately 10 ¾” x 15” and is in very good condition. Your item will be carefully packaged in a cardboard mailing tube. The maps have a copyright date of 1907& 1908 by Dodd. This is basically info on what to do/ where to go for short weekend trips that include some small regional insert maps. 2 Vintage Road Maps Sohio Oil Gas Company Graphics Car Automobile Transportation
Here's 2 vintage road maps of the state of Ohio from the Sohio Oil Company. Both have a road map of the state on the front on the back are smaller maps of Akron. Cincinnati, Canton, Columbus, Cleveland and others. They are both printed by the Rand McNally Co. and were lithographed in the United States. The white front one has a section showing events of 1978. The other one is not dated at all. It may be 1949. The smaller maps have a number sequence on the bottom of each with 49 as a common number. It is the more attractive one with color picture icons across 4 different state images divided into agriculture, industry, recreational and historical. The first one measures 34-3/4" by 26-1/2" The other one is 31-7/8" by 24-7/8" These both came out of an estate. Tydol Trails and Texaco Vintage Gas Station Maps of New Jersey and Long Island
You are bidding on 2 old gas station maps of New Jersey. The Tydol gasoline one reads"stop at this sign for safe motoring. The Texaco gasoline one reads"the dealer who gives you this map can get you the most comfortable routing for any trip. They appear to be from the 1950s-1960s. Though I can't be sure. I don't think Tydol is even still in business anymore. If you have any questions about specifics let me know. Condition is very good, maybe even excellent. Don't look like they were ever used much. A couple pinprick holes along creases when you open them and a slight 1" tear at one of the ends. Overall very crisp. Kind of cool.

Nice early Hawaiiana book! A 1927 hard cover guide book to Hawaii. 141 pages long. It is primarily about Oahu, and has a couple of fold-out maps of the island. These maps are in nice shape, but do have some pen notations made on them, like"Waikiki Beach" or"old crater" There are many pages of wonderful old advertisements. At the back there are a couple pages that are coming loose(but are not totally loose) An index of advertisers, and a tear-out page for you to make notes of improvements to send to the publisher. A bit of cover wear; the cloth on the boards looks like it wasn't laid down very well and is a little wrinkled. But overall in good, readable condition. Especially for an 86 year old guide book! Published in 1982 the book and the dust jacket are in excellent condition. The book is sizable measuring 11 ¼ inches x 8 ¾ inches with 294 pages with frontispiece.118 illustrations, 9 full page maps, bibliography and index. Quarto the book issued in dark green with gilt lettering to spine and has a very nice dust jacket that is also in great condition. The camera cast a glare on the book so please note the book jacket is in mint like condition. Foreword by Alvin M Josephy. Civilization of American Indian series, volume 158. 1st edition 1981 and 2 nd printing 1982. More than one hundred Indian tribes in fifteen language groups ... moreinhabited the area of Washington. Oregon, Idaho, and Western Montana in the nineteenth century. This important work, the first composite history of the region’s native inhabitants, covers the period roughly from 1750 to 1900, from the first white contacts to the aftermath of the Dawes Act. It is a valuable resource both for the serious scholars and general readers. The cultures of the Pacific Northwest tribes were as diverse as their lands. Coastal peoples, such as the Makahs, hunted whales in huge wooden canoes thirty-five feet long. Near Puget Sound they developed an advanced technology and a stylized art in carved wood. Personel Collection Vintage Metal and Wood Old World Globes made in Italy Maps
Up for your consideration is this collection of made in Italy wood and metal old world globe spheres. I have collected these for the past several decades. One here and one there. All are in good to fair condition for their age. The pictures pretty much tell their condition. They add a warm wonderful look to your room. The tallest one measures about 18" tall. I think one of them has a crack or split that may have been glued back together. Still noticeable but I think it adds to the character. My eyesight is not what it use to be and I couldn't find the one. All in all a lovely collection! Thanks for your interest and please feel free to email me with any questions. I found these in my father's stuff after he died. They seem to be some sort of promotional series for American Express. They are in very good condition. No stains, marks or tears. Each map has lots of cute'70s illustrations, a list of hotels, restaurants, etc. that presumably accepted AmEx credit card, a street map with locations of some of those businesses plus landmarks, and a page of tourist attractions.
