pair of vintage 1930s huge pot metal arrow brooches
A pair of circa 1930s pot metal brooches in the shape of huge. Military style arrows with a raised pattern of bumps. C" clasp closures work just fine. No rhinestones are present, and I doubt there ever were any, though there are tiny indentations all around the edges where some could be added, if desired. Pot metal is a soft alloy resembling pewter. Which was sometimes given a shiny silvertone plating. The plating on these brooches is tarnished and worn in places, and there is a trace of verdigris here and there. The brooches are also slightly bent here and there. These would look best worn on the shoulders of a coat or jacket. Or perhaps pinned to the chest pocket flaps. Huge Necklace of Antique Amber Copal Beads
This is a string of very old beads. I assume that they are copal. I did several tests on them. They are thermostatic, they pick up pieces of paper when rubbed, they fracture when cut, they do not dissolve in acetone or become tacky, they have no taste and they emit sooty fumes when touched with a hot needle. But they do not float, they are boyant but do not pop to the surface like most amber I have tested, also they are heavy and dense therefore I am selling them as copal or simulated amber. The largest piece is approx 2" in diameter and the smallest 1 1/4" The total weight is 633 grams. Please refer to the photos and ask questions. This is a Hector Aguilar design those this does not bear his mark. ❀It was made before WWII and is in the shape pf a Cattleya orchid. ❀it the center of the flower is a stamen of genuine natural grape amethyst. When I purchased this piece I assumed that the stone had been broken and repaired because it has a huge crack looking inclusion on the upper right side. There is even an interior rainbow that I apparently mistook for I thought it was glue or the sign of a break. However. I have since examined it with a 30X jeweler's loupe. I see no cracks on the surface and no evidence of glue. It may just be a large inclusion as amethyst is a form of quartz and it is not uncommon. Huge Lot of Brighton Jewelry/ Sets
Most definitely a great lot. All pieces are wearable. Resellable and in perfect condition. May need to be cleaned. There are retired and current pieces in this lot. Includes 3 sets! Scribble" set includes necklace and earrings, Jet Drop" set includes necklace, earrings and bracelet. Up for bid is a huge variety of very nice jewelry. All in gold tones. There are some very nice quality pieces in this lot; some signatures I saw were Monet, Ann Klein, JJ. Avon, EP(Erwin Pearl) And there are many unsigned pieces which are beautiful and well made. There are 33 necklaces, 17 brooches(only one has a loose clasp) 11 pairs of earrings(4 pairs are clip-ons, 7 pairs are pierced) 2 bracelets, 1 set(a necklace and bracelet; the necklace may need a clasp- very nice set, well made) And 3 items which I'm not sure of.2 could be belts, the other I'm not sure. HUGE HEAVY Brass 2 Spring Clock Movement Time Clock ? Marked 037 & 88 Interestng
Todays find is a VERY INTERESTING and VERY LARGE Clock movement. This heavy brass beauty is HUGE.possibly for an old Time Clock? Only markings I can see are 88 and 037. It has 2 LARGE SPRINGS.both good. And the winding arbors are HUGE ALSO.and 4 1/4" center to center. They are also 2 1/2 from center of winding arbor to hand shaft. Nut is present on hand shaft, no hands. Both springs are good. Wound, not broken. Verge is present, and there is power to the escapement, however, there is no suspension spring/rod driving the verge. This is simple.slotted pin for suspension spring rod is there and intact.if you need one, I can gladly include one.it would need to be cut to size. Not sure if this was a chime movement. There are 2 springs. But no apparent chime assembly, that is what leads me to believe it may be from an old Time clock.the second ... morespring may have driven the punch mechanism. The movement stands sort of A shaped.being 7 3/4 tall. 7 1/2 wide to edge of mainspring cogs, and about 3" deep. This MASSIVE BEAUTY weighs over 4# by itself! If you have information for me. It's hard to bend iron when cold without breaking it. I think the slight bend is as made. Rust. Patina and WOW as shown. Fresh from an old Lancaster estate. If that is the case, send me your zip code to see if I include it with free shipping. I usually ship Fedex, but sometimes UPS or USPS. This extra large Mexican pottery vase is 14" tall. And 5.25" wide at the bottom up to 10.25" wide near the top. It weighs 7 lbs. 14.5 oz. It is unsigned except for the Mexico stamp on the bottom. The bottom is not an exact circle, but that's how it was made. It has little chips here and there, which I believe are from tiny rocks coming loose from the clay after it was fired. There are miniscule spots of paint missing from all over, again due to how it was made. I do know that there is one"X" on the ... moretop that has more paint than normal missing because of a price sticker being put over it.
