I got this some time ago in Los Angeles. And thought it was interesting it is a"press Block" etching detailed for printing a photo in the paper I have been unsuccessful in determining what it is. It appears to be a construction site of some sort, and has the word Millie"77" in one corner with the date of 7/1951. As I do not have use for it I am selling it. No reserve happy bidding.

Removed from Murray's"History of the War in America, published in 1782. It has an overall size of 5" x 8" on deeply printed upon handmade period laid paper with a blank reverse. It is in very good condition with normal expected age. ADMIRAL AUGUSTUS KEPPEL[1725-1786] was a British Naval Explorer who circumnavigated the globe, and served with the British Navy in the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. At the end of the war he was chosen to become the First Lord of the Admiralty. Vintage Pullman Co. Hand Chased RR Silver Server Plate '31- Beautiful Engraving!
This is a beautifully engraved and hand chased Silver Service Plate for The Pullman Company Railroad table ware. The plate is 10 inches by 10 inches with wonderful detail work around the perimeter of the piece. Condition is excellent with normal scratches from years of usage. I've tried to show the plate clearly in the photos so you can see for yourself the condition and quality of this piece. It is marked on the back"International Silver Co. Silver Soldered" item number"SE 0336" and the number"31" within a square which I believe to be a date mark for 1931. It was originally marked"The Pullman Company" which is still partly visible beneath the cross etching out attempt from someone in the past. This plate is shown in Everett L. Also called"charger" plate(from the Middle English"chargeour" or"under plate" is purely decorative to add elegance to a formal meal. See the last photo to see an example of how it compliments the silver flatware and other items. This piece is an example of how, in the early to mid century, the railroads sought to provide a dining experience that rivaled the best restaurants. Railroad Silver is prized not only for its historic appeal. But also because it was made to be durable. In producing these pieces, the base metal is silver soldered and then plated up to 10-12 times to add a thicker plating than other silver plated pieces. The Pullman Palace Car Company was established in 1862. By George Pullman to build luxury railroad sleeping cars which featured carpeting, draperies, upholstered chairs and an unparalleled level of customer service.
