Dessert, small s alad. measures 6 1/4" diameter and sits at 1/2" high edges are scalloped in to quarters w/very slight raised top edge Condition: Overall. I feel these plates are in very good condition for their age. I did find two small surface chips on two different plates, on their back side(see photos) No evidence of cracks, crazing or fleabites. One plate had a tiny"pock mark/bubble" on surface which occurs during making. When I looked at the plate bottoms. In the right light, with a mag glass, there are a small amount of utensil marks, varying for each plate. I couldn't find any on one plate bottom. On plate backs, there is the odd discoloration mark and I'm sure not as white as they used to be. Don't forget, these are plates that have been used, so will not be perfect, that's the beauty in vintage items! One bowl has all over tiny spider web-like craze lines and this bowl for some reason appears older than the others; not quite as shiny and glossy as the others and the back side not as white; shows more wear. On another bowl I found the odd craze line here and there and could not find any craze lines on the third bowl. Again. With any of these used dishes, you may find utensil scratches/marks. I will be auctioning off several different items from an estate auction where I bought a box of World War II items. Among the items are a few different maps. Leather cigar holder, pencils for routing the maps, and quite a few photos of France and Germany. I'll try to describe the items as best I can and answer any questions about them. I did speak with the grandson of the person whose items these were. He said that his grandfather was in the Army and stationed overseas during the war. But in the second image ~ he's the guy on the left. I'm pretty sure his friend on the right is named Larry. You also see Bob standing in the doorway of a barracks or workshop with the#34 posted. The platter is Multi-Colored Brown Transfer Ware in the"OLD BRITAIN CASTLES" design.
