Description: A vast improvement over their inept. Easily damaged of the late'70s. Kenner's"The Force" Lightsaber debuted in 1980. It came in two different colors: a red Darth Vader model and a yellow model, which I assume was meant to represent Luke Skywalker's weapon. Not only was the newer toy sturdier than its predecessor, it was a lot more fun, mostly because it was designed to emit a wide range of humming noises as it was swung and air was made to rush through its hollow shaft. These noises sounded only marginally like those heard in the Star Wars films. But it saved all of us from constantly having to making goofy noises with our mouths while we engaged in our mock battles. The Force" Lightsaber was immensely popular and was issued in five consecutive years. 1980 through 1984. In 1983, the yellow model was ... morereplaced with a green one in order to conform to the color of Luke's new saber, as seen in Return of the Jedi. Loose examples of"The Force" Lightsaber are fairly easy to locate. Though they remain popular with collectors. The yellow version seems to be the scarcest. Still, pristine examples of any color variation command a premium as the mock combat these toys were used in tended to leave them dented and bruised with whitish stress marks. First Issued: 1980(red or yellow. With ESB hilt) This is the description of this great 1980's toy. I can love the sound this toy makes. Before listing it I actually recorded the sound with my iPhone. The saber has some creasing and the sticker adorning the hilt has some wear. IF you need more pictures of this item please request and will send as many as required. They have a gold edge with pink leaves and bunches of purple and green grapes hanging down. The sugar measures 6-1/2" handle to handle; 4-7/8" wide and 3-3/4" high to the cover knob. The creamer measures 5-1/8" spout to handle; 4" wide and 3-1/2" high. The sugar bowl has a crack by the bottom edge of one of the handles and the creamer has a crack at the bottom. Both of these look like stress cracks from manufacturing. The cracks don't take away from displaying these pieces as the cracks are very hard to see on the outside. Offered is an Empire Ware chintz tea cup and saucer in the lilac time pattern. The cup is 2" high and 3 3/4" wide and the saucer is 5 3/4" across. The chintz pattern is very busy with a warm green background with tiny white flower shapes on it. Overlaid with burgundy lilacs and blue and yellow florals. The cup has a double ringed gilt foot. There are gilt accents on the handle, rims and inner rim of the cup. Both pieces are stamped Empire England with a red and gold shield. They also have a decorator's gold mark. T. The cup and saucer are in very good condition. The saucer has a shallow 1/2" chip on the underside by the rim. Gold is very good.
