Both are in fair condition. ... moreBoth have signs of aging: paper wear. Some color fading, some dirt, scratches, and in general, other symptoms of being old. The one on the left in the first picture appears to be more faded. It does not have airplane flight distances. The one on the right has more vibrant colors and has airplane distances indicated. The booklet belongs to the one on the left, the slightly more faded one. They are not identical. They are very similar. Both were made in the USA by George at cram company in Indianapolis Indiana. Both are being sold as a pair, in as is condition. Please review photographs and ask questions. Thank you. The basis will be removed and packed in the same box. So some assembly will be required. It's one screw to reinsert. Having a pair is always better as you can have both hemispheres visible at the same time. Great for teaching. The one on the left has Union of Soviet Socialist republics. The one on the right the one with the more vibrant colors has that area listed as Russia. Both globes indicate north and South Korea. The faded globe has Burma listed. Not Myanmar. This is an original. Not copy or reprint, of Cram's 1901 map of Montreal, Canada. The map was published as a page in the 1901 Cram's Unrivaled Atlas of the World. The page measures 14.5 in. x 11.5 in. 36.8 cm x 29.5 cm] approx. On the rear of the page is a bonus map of Toronto, Canada. Excellent for framing. Please view my other Cram's maps on Ebay. Crams School wall map State of Indiana and geographical Terms
These two maps roll up together. One map is the state of Indiana and the other map is Geographical Terms. The top map has some border tape coming loose at the bottom and the map is not ripped. There is a hole in the backing material which you cannot see with maps rolled out. It seems to operate well and rolls up fast. This is a Cram map and I cannot tell what year it is. With base& meridian, is 17" it is approximately 13.5" at its' widest; the base diameter is 8" The look is so right: the original true blue has aged to more of an aqua blue(just what collectors are looking for) it has an impressive. Heavy, cast iron full meridian, finished to look like brass; it's bronze-look metal base has an art deco stepped design. Not only is the look there. But the condition is as well(see my many pics) The globe is sturdy& tight; there's no separation at the equator as is found on many vintage globes; very little discoloration(at a few of the seam lines only) or missing pieces of the paper surface(here& there very inconsequential ... morebits have scuffed off) The cast iron meridian& metal base surfaces are in excellent condition- there's even gold striping on the"bronze" base. All in all, a very well-constructed vintage globe, meant to last. By itself the globe weighs a hefty 4 lbs. Carefully packed for shipping it will weigh 6 3/4 lbs. The atlas is complete except for a large fold out map of Illinois that has been removed. The atlas measures 15 x 11 3/4 x 5/8 inches. Has an indexed Table of Contents, Illustrations(photos& drawings) and References, Tables, Statistics and has 158 pages. The cover shows some spotting and damage(see photos) and the binding is split along the inside of the front and back covers(see third photo) But all pages are still bound and attached to the binding so there are no loose pages and the cover is attached to the binding at the end. This is a rare vintage Crams 16" project world globe. I did some reaserch and can't find another one like it. But I am not a globe expert. That being said, due to condition of globe this would probably be more of a decor item than a globe collector item. I have included 12 pics so that you can see what the condition is. It did not have a base when I found it in a barn, literally, so I improvised and used a antique Christmas tree stand. The pole I believe is original, but was all rusty, so I painted the pole and stand a vintage enamel color. The globe I cleaned and coated with a satin clear finish to help protect rest of it from pealing. The Globe stands approx 4 feet tall and has the ability to extend another 2-3 feet.
