A c1937 Silver Ocean Cram's Globe by the George F. Cram Co. Globe manufacturers experimented with many designs and materials in an effort to make their globe more aesthetically pleasing as well as educational. The George F. Crams Co. succeeded with this short-lived. Highly collectible Cram's with silver oceans. This rather fragile colored(sensitive to handling) silver oceans globe is made more appealing by the contrasting black meridian and metal base, highlighted also, in silver. Trade routes are depicted in red and are measured in nautical miles. Great addition to a collection. This Crams globe sits in metal cradle which has scales to calculate flight mileage and time for both prop and jet planes. Nice. Up for auction George F. Cram Antique World Globe. Stands approximately 16 inches tall. It does light up. Has a on/off switch, and cord is 66 inches long. Nice wood base with 3 built in meters, barometer, hygrometer(humidity) and thermometer. Overall condition is good with one issue, equator line near Africa(see pictures) tape starting to come undone.
