1868 Atlas of Herkimer County in the State of New York. This atlas 15 X 17 1/2 inches is complete with all the pages. Atlas has a New York State Map. A Herkimer County Map showing the location of the Towns in the county, and a map of each of the towns, cities and villages. The city, town and village maps show The streets and the homes and names of the family living there. On these maps is a Business directory of merchants and businesses. Maps are in fairly good condition, with 1 having a tear in it that could be back taped. All of these maps have a back that is blank. These atlases are usually taken apart and sold as individual town and city maps for around $20- $25. each. There is a total of 27 Maps in this book. There is some water staining and foxing on the pages. The binding is coming loose, but could be taped.

They are dated on front covers: white is 1970, yellow is 1973, and green is 1977. All have some wear, used, but no writing that we see. 1970 back is splitting from spiral at bottom and has small tear at top back edge. 1973 front is tearing along spiral at bottom and also has 3 staples and holes from a 4th. 1977 bottom outside front corner is creased. Published in 1897. The book has approx 80 pgs of maps& index in the front on very, very heavy paper. The blank endpapers are folded. Pages show a very slight warp. The colored maps are followed by another 64 pages of text and black/white images about the area. For its age, I would say that the book is in excellent condition. The exterior edge on the top front shows wear(see pics) Some very slight yellowing to some pages, but maps are frame quality. No torn pages that I can see. The interior of the binding hing in the front is beginning to separate, but otherwise a beautiful copy. I think one might have a hard time finding a nicer copy. Original 1889 Sheboygan County Wisconsin Plat Book Atlas C.M. Foote & Co.
Great early plat book! I believe this is the first one done of the county. Contents are townships of Greenbush. Herman, Holland, Lima, Lyndon, Mitchell, Mosel, Plymouth, Rhine, Russell, Scott, Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls, Sherman, and Wilson. The cities illustrated are Adell, Amsterdam, Batavia, Cascade, Cedar Grove, Elkhart Lake, Franklin, Glenbeulah, Greenbush, Hingham, Howard's Grove, New Paris, Onion River, Oostburg(spelled Oostburgh) Plymouth, Random Lake, Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls, and Waldo. It also has a county map, a Wisconsin state map, description of government surveys, and 6 pages of a patron's directory(see pic of example) The book is hard bound but the outside binding has come apart. There is one page missing showing(on the front) the town of Wilson and(on the back) one of six pages of the city of Sheboygan. I took a ... morepic of the worst damage of any of the pages, it is only along the edges where there is light chipping or small tears. This pic represents only two pages, the rest are in pretty nice shape as you can see in the pics. The majority appear to be without any damage. Inside the cover is penned(very old writing! From the estate of Louise A. Walvoord in ink. It also has pencil names of Henry Walvoord and Jos. Pfieffer. A few of the pages are loose but the vast majority are still bound. The colors are very bright, I don't smell any musty smells, and overall a great example of a rare book! This book is large, measuring 18" x 15 1/2" Local pick up is free. All of my items are guaranteed to be as described. I do accept returns within 3 days of getting your item and you must notify me if there are any problems. I will refund the cost of the item. O.W. Gray's Famous 1876"New Map of Texas& the Indian Territory" Reproduction) One of the Great Texas Maps! Sheet size: 16' x 20" Available in several sizes From an original in the Electric Books Collection. This beautiful map was printed in the O.W. Gray National Atlas. It was drawn by Frank A. Gray who did many of the outstanding maps for the Gray Atlases of the period. Accurate to about 1876 in the post Civil War/Reconstruction era as the railroads were beginning to expand again and the great Cattle Trails were still in progress. This fine map is full of detail. The Comanche's and Kiowa's were still a threat. Most of the Counties had been organized and were on the map but many were still not functional in the Panhandle, the LLano Estacado area and in the far west. In Indian Territory. Greer County is notated ... moreas claimed by Texas in that famous border dispute. Several maps of this period show Galveston which was the major portal into Texas. But in addition this map shows the Galveston Harbor sounding chart(Lower right) as well as very early images of the city of Austin(Lower left) a small map of the the River System's of Texas(Upper right) and an elevation map of Texas and Indian Territory at the Upper Left. There are many long lost place names and there are fantasy projections of proposed railroads that were either located elsewhere or never built. This is one of the few major post-Civil War maps that shows most of the entire state of Texas without chopping off either the Panhandle or the western sections which adds greatly to the visual appeal. A very large part of Indian Territory and a little of New Mexico is shown in full color and detail. The map features a very effect and attractive and is coupled with effective but subtle Handwashed coloring. This is in direct contrast to the crude& garish"checkerboard" look of many of its contemporaries. The sample picture shown is at very low Internet resolution and reduced in size. 1941 Rennie Atlas - Los Angeles City and County. Maps, Pacific Electric routes
Large 13.5 X 19.5 Inch Rennie Atlas of Los Angeles City and County circa 1941. 87 pages. Ring bound, with hard covers and in excellent condition. Fully indexed with two supplement maps covering the Pacific Electric Railway system(The Red Cars) nand another covering the Los Angeles Railway Streetcar routes. This came from the Los Angeles Herald Examiner offices after the paper was shut down. Great research tool. Please note that all of the maps are white. Some of my photos show them as brownish but this was due to poor lighting. There are some penciled additions on some of the maps but overall it is pristine. The Pacific Electric map is dated February 1, 1941 and the other maps are all noted as Renne-41 so I am assuming that is the publication date. It is definately pre-war as it indicates the locations of all the aircraft factories.

This atlas is in good pre-owned condition. The pages are all very legible and in very good condition. I don't see any markings. The first page does have yellowing. The other pages are white with areas of yellowing around the edges/border. There are some blue ink smudges or smears along some of the edges. Which appear to be from the original print. The atlas appears to have been folded or rolled up. It has a vertical crease on the front and back covers, and it does not lay flat. The pages do have signs of wear along the edges(fraying or small rips) The burgundy covers do have wear along the edges/corners, creases, ... moreand some dirt marks.
