RAF WW2 Airfields, Pilot's Flying Map 1941, Scotland Eastern Highlands, Aberdeen
This is a genuine issued Second World War Royal Air Force Pilot or Navigator’s aeronautical map depicting the Eastern Highlands of Scotland. It covers both Inverness and Aberdeen. It is reinforced linen-backed to survive in the cockpit in battle conditions. Its scale is ¼ to the mile. It includes a wealth of detail and is marked with unique war-time data and information such as flying safety heights. Aerial and marine lights– as well as numerous Royal Air Force Aerodromes. It is marked“R.A.F. EDITION(WAR) and is dated 1941- just after the Battle of Britain period. For condition please study the photographs carefully. I think it is in superb general condition for its age– considering it is about 75 years old. It has minor use marks. Minor wear to creases and some soiling and fading.
