This was really a great find.a turn of the century Late Ottoman Turkish or Middle Eastern inlaid with mother of pearl walnut chest or dowry or blanket box. The pattern involves stars and other geometric shapes and some carvings that resemble birds and it is in very good condition. Patina is beautiful and finish is original. The base is an interesting combination of incised lines and inlaid mother of pearl stars on a reticulated base. It is all hand dovetailed. Height = 19 5/8" Length = 33 5/8" Depth = 16 5/8" Add a piece of glass to the top and have the perfect coffee or even side table. These old antique inlaid mother of pearl chests and tables and trunks are very flexible as they can be added to man different decors. The chest is rusty on the surface. But seems to be solid. It is lined on the inside with paper. The lock on the outside has the word Yale on it. The trunk measures 20" tall and 19" x 36" length and width. It is 16" deep with the lid open. It is in good vintage condition. With surface rust and the leather straps broken off. Offering an antique. Wood tramp art box. This one is unique in that is has a lift out tray. I just fell in love with the brown antique paper it is lined with and the lift out tray. It reminds me of those antique trunks for dolls. This has a pin cushion top, so it was intended to be for sewing, but one can use this box in any sort of ways. I was never really conscious of this fact for many years, but I just love boxes. The older and more one of a kind, the better. I think because it reminds me of childhood, and tiny things, secret little treasures, which could have been just a trinket, but to a child's mind is the greatest treasure in the world. I also love tramp art because each item is one of a kind, and therefore unique. This one has acorns on the side and a monogram. Inside is also a mirror. The box does have some discoloration on the fabric on the pin cushion but it could be dust that has collected over the years and maybe all it needs is a gentle cleaning. I have included photos of all the sides, top and bottom, and interior for your consideration. You can use the magnifier also, to get a nice close look. It is all intact, and the hinges are intact, but the hinges seem to me to be a bit fragile and the box needs to be used properly by an adult. I bought it for myself, but after getting it home and it's also summer vacation, the lightbulb came on that this box probably won't survive in this house. As much as I love it, I decided I need to let it go, and it's in it's box, already to ship- didn't even show it to the kids) Shipping will be high because it is wood and heavy. Antique 19th C Wood Box Trunk Linen Chest Brass Lionhead Handle Orig lock no key
Up for auction is an antique 19th C small trunk or linen chest recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It is found in good used condition but has many surface scratches to all sides as well as having some wood loss. Photo 9. We are not sure if it was for linens, small furs, or what but it seems too large to be a glove box. This measures 11.75 x 23.5, an unusual long and thin table top size. This is 9" tall. This is missing an original nut on the handle. This has brass reinforced corners. A very nice pice in a net size. Best of luck in bidding.

Gorgeous. Completely carved All over, vintage camphor chest. The largest I have seen at 40" long, 19" deep and 23.5" high with the feet attached, 19" without feet. Notice the fitted dovetail corners which gives rounded edges instead of sharp ones. Some signs of wear in the varnish consistent with age but it actually looks even better in person. The HD pictures actually pick out flaws you don't notice with the naked eye. It would make a beautiful coffee or accent table. It comes with original brass hard wear and the padlock/key. Good Luck Elephants beautifully carved from heavy hard tropical wood. These are detailed carvings done by a real artist. NOT more modern knock-offs hastily produced. Zoom in to see the detailed surface carving. Vintage condition chips, and even the missing tusk do not detract from these good-looking and now endangered elephants. Tusks NOT ivory. Bottoms have numbers printed in faint ink: 24 and 38, but I do not know where they were made. Estate find. They measure 9 1/4" tall, 3 3/8" wide and 6 1/4" from the book end to the tip of the tusks.

It's from an 8- inch in diameter trunk of a very large apple tree that was cut up the first week in March of this year. It's been stacked in my yard since and is drying out. Yesterday July 4th, I cut it to fit exactly in a Medium Priority Flat Rate Box. With the cut flat side down and the 2- cut offs on either side on top the wood fills the exact space of the box. I cut off the bark side to get the 2 pieces to fit tight. The box measures, 11- 3/4's x 8- 3/4's x 5- 3/4 inches, and is now this week after 4- months in full sunlight{12- 3/4 pounds} This was a live tree when the storm brought it down, and has No rot, ... moreor insects in it, with some of the bark still on it! I also use vegtable oil for my chainsaws cutting chain when cutting all woods used for smoking. This apple wood is from heavy storm damage to a large private property that borders Fairmount park in Plymouth Meeting Pennsylvania. ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE APOTHECARY WOOD CABINET CUPBOARD FILING BOX CHEST TRUNK BOX* Up for sale is this awesome wood three drawer plus top drawer apothecary filing cabinet cupboard. On the outside of this cabinet is red paint with white porcelain knobs. The top drawer measures 18" wide x 9 1/2" deep x 2 3/4" high. Also in the top cabinet you can see there is an old lock inside the drawer and then outside you can see where the key would have gone- it has been painted over. We do not have the key. The three bottom drawers measure 9 1/2" deep x 16 3/4" wide x 1 1/2" high. Total cabinet measures 19 3/4" wide x 11" deep(not counting the knobs) x 12 1/4" high. It weighs 14 lbs. On the front of the bottom drawer there are two holes- they do go through to the other side. I'm not sure what this was for- ... moremost likely a name plate of some sort or maybe an old handle. In all three of the drawers inside- in the back of the drawer there are holes that go all the way through. The hole is also inside the top drawer under the lid. This was likely to lock the drawers. The person would have a rod(not included) that would slide down from the top and lock each drawer in place. Then. By locking the lid with the key(not included) the entire cabinet could be locked up safe! It may have been for a shop owner or perhaps for someone who kept valuables in their home and didn't want any sticky fingers walking off with their goods! Once the cabinet was all locked up, it was easy to carry without losing the drawers by grabbing ahold of the nice brass handles on each side. This is a great size cabinet that could be used for many things! There are some paint spills on a couple of places. Chips, scratches, and holes but it does not take away from the beauty of this cabinet. Great for many uses! The red paint appears to be old but don't think it is original to the piece. Great piece! This delightful small trunk came to us from an estate auction out in the country. The outside seems all original but long ago the interior was painted in a cream color and handpainted with leaves and flowers. While we like things to be entirely original. This restoration is just right-nothing fake looking about it. My guess is that the cream color was done 60-70 years ago. There is considerable rust on the lock and the outside metal. Up for sale is a very interesting Antique lincoln safe deposit company wood trunk. I am unsure of the exact age of the trunk but it seems to be very old. The trunk was stored with charcoal to keep it from getting moisture within. The label show it being by lincoln safe deposit company. And was used as a fireproof warehouse for people's belongings in new York city. Very cool part of history. Antique Cedar Trunk with Walnut Carved Design- From what I can see. This was hand made from Cedar with a walnut carved veneer overlay on front. Original lock and Key. Key is a single tooth, hollow barrel metal Skelton key. Hinges appear to be original, but I am not certain. Small dovetailed joints with distinct un-matching groves validate the 1800's age I believe to be when it was made. Another strong indicator is the patent number on the back solid panel dating it around 1844. This piece is not in perfect condition, but I would say PRETTY DARE GOOD! 1800s Pine Round Top Wood Trunk Forged Iron Handles Square Nails Primitive. We are selling an antique pine trunk/ chest in its original condition.This trunk dates to about 1870s and still in good condition.There are five large dovetail joints on all corners. The cast iron handles are in very good condition. The end board on one side is a solid 13" wide plank. The pine boards are all old growth wood. The bottom planks have a few cracks in them as the pictures show. There are normal age wear nicks and bumps and dings. The size is 34" long. 16 1/2" wide and 19 1/2" tall. The lock is gone. Two old brass chains hold the top open. There is some very old wall paper on the inside of the trunk. Shipping will be by fedex. Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description. Very strong cute little old trunk. With the original tray, but used for what? It may have been a doll trunk because of the size. It is 9 3/4" wide and only 6 1/4" tall, and 6" front to back The tray alone is 8" inside and almost 4 1/2" front to back. The trunk could use leather handles on each side. Easy to do using an old leather belt, but I do nothing to old items! The inside has a very thin decorated paper, and is original. Part that flips to lock is broke off/ missing. Lid stays tightly shut when center and right side locks/ latches are locked. Hard to notice the missing piece. Solid walnut Wood carving: Forking Trunk
Forking Trunk You are bidding on approximately 9 pounds of solid walnut. Hand carved and polished to bring out the beauty of nature's handiwork. This intriguing piece is approximately 9 inches across, 13 inches tall and 4 inches thick. It was sliced from a piece of firewood from my father's firewood pile. There are marks from the chain saw visible on the edges. I used a carpenter's hand saw to cut this from the rest of the piece of firewood. It required several hours of sawing to complete the cut. The cut face shows the walnut grain as a branch splits from the main trunk. The top of the cut stretches back to meet the opposite side. The opposite side was originally covered with bark. What was left of the bark after the years of exposure was polished away leaving a exquisitely unique surface. The polished surfaces were then rubbed ... morewith boiled linseed oil. The years of exposure since the wood was cut for firewood made their mark. Insects somehow managed to tunnel through this incredibly hard wood in a few places. I decided to leave a few small scratches from the creative process to highlight the hand crafting. The result is a story the natural forces of growth and decay. The proceeds of this sale will be donated to the Gateway Area Chapter of the National MS Society. Your purchase will help the work of the MS Society. Including research, education, therapy and support for people with MS and their families. Over the years I heard many good friends talk very positively about the Bike MS event. Solid walnut wood carving: Penetrated Trunk
Penetrated Trunk This piece is about 7 pounds of solid walnut. Hand carved and polished to bring out the beauty only nature could create. This unique piece started as a quarter of a large piece of firewood. It is about 16 inches tall. The base is about 6 inches by 5 inches. It tapers slightly toward the top. The base retains some roughness from the chainsaw cut. The thrust of the smaller branch penetrating the main branch is the prominent feature. This smaller branch pushed itself through the trunk. Splitting the original large chunk of firewood required several wedges due to the turmoil of penetration which intertwined the grain in braided twists. The polished surface was rubbed with boiled linseed oil. The years of exposure since the wood was cut for firewood made their mark. Insects somehow managed to tunnel through this incredibly hard ... morewood in a few places. I decided to leave a few small scratches from the creative process to highlight the hand crafting. Vintage Wooden Trunk "The World" in Leather/Vinyl/Wood/Velvet **AGE/Origin? UNK
Up for auction is a Vintage Wooden Trunk"The World" in Leather/Vinyl/Wood/Velvet* The AGE and Origin at this time is unknown. This trunk measures 24x14x14 inches(external) A hat is placed in one of the photos to show scale. I'm not the original owner. Only an individual reseller. I've only had this item for about 2 days. Externally it is made of a photographic fabric that appears to be a vinyl or leather of some type. More on this later. It is apparently held down with glue and genuine leather accent trim. The accent trim is held down by metal stud/rivets. Much of the leather has lifted away but is all still intact present. There are also two very thick leather strap handles affixed on both sides(length) These handles are all very much intact and offer maximum usefulness. There seems to have been a hasp or some other locking ... moremechanism. But is no longer in place. There is one hinge on the inside that is in very good condition. I can support the lid in the open position half way all up to fully open. Inside the trunk is a very pristine velvet/ felt liner. It is wine/ burgundy in color and is clean and immaculate as if never used. In fact this trunk has probably been shut/closed for so long that I had to pry it open. As far as the main picture material. It does appear to be leather. The theme is a continuous map of the world with photos of wildlife(mainly Africa) It is in mint condition throughout the outside of the box and has not peeled away, been ripped, deteriorated, nor discolored in any location. This material extends throughout and also the main surfaces and also the internal edges leading to the velvet interior. Thanks for visiting this auction and for reading all of this. You are bidding on a vintage Camphor wood trunk. I really dont know origin or age. Please look at hinges and hardware and all pictures carefully. It is not as intricately carved as some I have seen. The finish on the wood is not perfect has different shades here and there. No breaks or damage.
