ANTIQUE CAMEL HUMP BACK STEAMER TRUNK CHEST DOME TRAY WOOD METAL LARGE VICTORIAN This is a really nice and big 1870's Antique Stea mer trunk pa rti ally restored to original magnifice nce. It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side ... morelocking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. Great Rustic Antique Steamer Trunk Possibly a Military Trunk. The reason I think it may be is the trunk's original color was a army green color. The only remnants of the green paint are on the edges when the lid id opened, but it the green enamel is there The trunk is medium sized. When I got it, it was actually locked. I was able to get it unlocked and inside where some papers dated 1942, so I would say it is a least pre-1940's from the design. Hardware, and inside paper I would say it is likely dated to 1880-1910. The lock takes a skeleton key Hinges work great. I assume with the right key the lock would as well The paper from the inside has all been removed so no lingering smells remain. Also removes allergens, etc. Left natural wood. This way you can leave as is, or finish to best suit your needs! Up for auction is an identical set of(5) Antique trunk corner protective brackets. Each bracket is 3 inches from corner to end of bracket with a metal flange along both sides of one arm to protect the wood slat from damage from handling aboard ship or train. Each arm has(3) holes for nails to attach the bracket to the corner where the protective wood slats come together. Each braket measures 1 3/4 inches wide. The metal is thick heavy gauge.

Antique Blue Steamer Trunk - Wooden Frame with Metal Corners & Braces
This is a nice bright blue steamer trunk. With metal corners, hardware and strapping. I believe the walls, bottom and lid are made of thin plywood with an exterior lining of sheet metal.Measuring about 29½" x 14½" and about 10¼" tall, it has a single leather or faux leather carrying handle on the front, right beside the lock. The inside is lined with paper printed with a wood grain design. I don't know the age of it, but it looks mid twentieth century, doesn't it? I also don't see any sign of manufacturer identification, and no labels to tell where it traveled. It has some surface scuffs and scratches. Especially on the top and bottom, in fact there are some distinct pressure dents around the edge of the lid, as shown in the third picture below. Own a Piece of American History Today! This trunk is over 100 years old! EXAMPLE OF STAGECOACH/JENNY LIND With Measurements: 29"w x 13.5"h x 16 1/4"d Stagecoach Trunks Including The Jenny Lind's 1840-1875 This era of trunks saw the replacement of the leather trim with metal banding and the hide coverings replaced by things such as oil cloth. A tanned and often highly tooled or inked leather. And toward the later part of the era, paper on occasion. During this time, the size of the buttons. Often brass covered, became larger although not all trunks had them. Generally, trunks of this type were still on the smaller size to carry a few belongings for an individual person as space was limited during travel. The Jenny Lind trunk was born in this time in the early 1850's. It has a distinctive shape like no other trunk being ... moresimilar to an old keyhole or bread loaf shape(there are two variations) when viewed from the side. The style became popular in America when the famous singer Jenny Lind toured the country under contract by P.T. Barnum. Jenny Lind brought her trunk over from Europe(do not know who made the first one) and everyone here wanted one. It is a very attractive trunk with metal banding that is on occasion brass wrapped and the banding is held in place by large brass buttons. The Jenny Lind's are really a unique style of their own but I have listed then under the stagecoach trunks as that is really what they were and their general size being consistent with other trunks of this era. This trunk is in good condition. Obviously it will show wear marks from age. Some wear and cracks to wood. Forged handles. Rivets and initials"M.O. on top. Brown wood with black bands. The trunk shows excellent pierced metal work throughout and original rivets that fasten all pieces. The top has metal work that shows names and the front of the lid also shows names. This trunk is in very good condition structurally and cosmetically. Note the hand wrought iron handles and original iron bands with applied rivets. The truck has a working lock and original key. This trunk has a great decorator look with wonderful patina and will make a great addition to your room setting or collection. Great for storage. Up for sale is this beautiful antique dome top steamer trunk with ornate embossed metal and a working key. It measures 32" long by 18" wide and 21" tall. The exterior of this trunk was cleaned. The wood slats sanded, stained with minwax"golden oak" then the entire trunk was sealed with spar urethane. The interior lining was removed then the wood was sanded and stained with minwax"golden oak" as well. This trunk shows some wear from age and has some minor flaws i.e. one of the hinges is broke(does not effect the stability, very functional) overall the trunk is in very good condition. This is a ca.1890 antique flat top steamer trunk. It is steel-covered that has been painted black and floral embossed dark green and bound with oak slats. All of the steel hardwear including the brass lock and the latches are original. The leather handles have been replaced. The key is missing. It has fancy embossed slat clamps and two fingered edge clamps. The bottom has four roller wheels. It is 30"x 18.5"x 23"tall and weighs 45 lbs. The interior which is all original and has not been touched. Is fitted with a lidded tray, hat box and three lovely victorian prints. The only part that is missing is the lid for the right hand box. Dimensions: Length 32" 18" wide, 21" tall, 14" deep The trunk is made of metal and wood. The leather handle/strap on the left side of the trunk has been broken off and is MIA. The latch on the front is intact. But it won't latch and the key is also MIA, presumably with the leather handle. Maybe they are lying on a beach somewhere together. This is a beautiful trunk that is 38" wide. A depth of 21" and a height at the peak of 26" The metalwork is quite beautiful contrasted with the wood. Inside is a tray that lifts out or tips up. The inside is quite simple. Wonderful storage piece. The handles on the sides are missing, as is the claps in the front. The hinges for the lid are in very good working condition which means this is a very functional storage unit. I am not at all sure what the age is. I bought it as part of an entire household. The most recent owner did not smoke. And I know he owned it about the past 3-4 years, having purchased it locally. Local pick up only. I live in Nooksack. This trunk is unique is that it has all it's original stamped tin and it also has 4 metal roller wheels on the bottom. The trunk obviously has some issues- there is rust present and some of the wood has come loose. The trunk is missing both of it's side handles and it does not latch properly as well. We believe the insert in the top is probably not original- if it is. It has been modified with the addition of adhesive paper. There is also a moldy smell inside the trunk. These flaws account for the highly discounted price, making this piece a great bargain for one who is interested in fixing it up! These have lots of superficial rust. And random denting. One 7th corner. That will be included, has a hole. They are painted an old forest green. They are certainly originals. Antique Steamer Trunk Flat Top 5 Latch painted metal
Antique flat top Trunk- Metal. Painted black with leather handles. There is one latch in the middle with a key hole. But I do not have the key and there are 2 buckle type latches(they work well) at either end and then also 2 slide in latches(they also work well) There are 3 hinges on the back side of the lid and they show some rust, but still function well. There has been some shelf or contact paper applied to part of the interior, but it is all loose and should come off easily. The bottom of the trunk is definitely in need of some TLC. I did not attempt any restoration, just wiped with a dry rag to remove loose dirt and dust. Other than the outside bottom of the trunk it is fairly good condition. Ready for its next home whether you decide to restore or leave as is. Antique Metal Steamer Trunk Tray Handle Hardware Great Condition Wichita Trunk C
This is a really cool metal and leather steamer made by the Wichita Trunk Company. The metal has some rust. But no holes. The leather has some wear, but no rips. One handle is present, one is not. All hardware is intact. The lovely flocked interior is in good shape, but could use a little vacuuming in the bottom. The tray is there, but the leather hinges on one side of the cover has broken as can be seen in the photo. This would be a beautiful restoration piece, but would also look cool in your living room as is. If you would prefer a local pickup to save the shipping I would be happy to do that. Happy bidding!

This auction is for an antique unrestored trunk from the 1870's to 1910. It has wooden slats with solid metal edges with a detailed stamped metal pattern all over. The lock has the name Eagle Lock on it. At one time it had leather handles but they are torn. Beautifully restored antique dome-top steamer trunk. Metal sides and top are embossed with an intricate floral design and braced with oak slats. Contrasting black metal covers the corners and edges and is decorated with floral braces at the corners. Metal lock and fasteners and front. Two leather side handles have their original wear and really emphasize the age and history of this piece. The inside of the lid has a charming decoupage design. This piece is both decorative and practical for storage. It most likely dates from the late 1800's This piece has been restored and is in very good condition. There is. But the pins are missing and one of the pivots is stiff. So, the top comes completely off. There is some sort of texture. Or film, around the lettering on the front of the box. This box has a lot of wear that includes surface scratches. Dings, surface residue and in need of a very good cleaning as I've made no attempt to do so. Antique/Vtg 1880's Camel/Humpback Trunk w/Metal/Tin Alligator Panels
Antique Camelback Trunk Nice vintage trunk approximately 28"L by 15 1/2"D by 17 1/2"H. Made around 1880, the metal clovers? on top read(pat'd Mar 16, 1880) it is trimmed with pressed metal panels made to look like alligator skin. The trunk is solid, the bottom wheels are all in good working condition, the lid is firmly attached and it has it's inside drawer. It has wear to the surface paint, the leather side straps are missing/damaged, it looks like the front center latch was re-attached years ago with a small metal plate added, and there is a small hole in the metal along the front right edge(tried to show in picture) There maybe other small issues I missed or forgot to mention but overall this is a very nice decorative trunk that will display well. Up for auction is a Wood and metal humpback chest. The chest is original there has been no restoration done to it. The chest measures 26" long 17" tall 15" wide the paper on the inside of the chest is original there is a broken handle and some hardware issues that come with age. The inside tray is long gone. This chest has been kept inside a apartment for most of its life. It was not used for storage but as a showpiece so it has been kept very clean. TRUNK/ ANTIQUE/100 YEARS OLD/ WOOD & METAL
Very old trunk. I got it from an elderly friend of mine-in her 90's. The trunk belonged to her aunt-so it has to be at least a hundred years old if not more. It is 19 inches wide. 13 1/4 inches deep, 32 inches long. Lid is 3 1/2 inches deep and inside is 9 inches from the edge to bottom. The trunk is wood with metal bottom with 3 2 inch brace boards for support. There are metal bands for support on all edges and corners.The bottom and lid have a crack length wise. Up for Auction is an ANTIQUE Vintage Steamer Black Metal Lined Wood TRUNK. It has Nice Metal corners and has a thin lining of metal over wood. Inside it is lined also. There is an insert that has makes a shelf. The bottom of the insert has detatched from the sides. See pictures. The wood is lined with blue and white paper. It has a lock by the Eagle Lock Company which was in business in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There is no key and the middle of the handle is missing. The trunk has the intials PTM on it. The metal is scatched. Warped and dinged from use and it is very old. The lining inside also has marks and is tearing from age. It also has rivots on the sides. Antique Steamer Trunk Dome Top Embossed Metal Hardwood Slats
We recently purchased this attractive antique steamer trunk at an estate sale. It has a very slightly domed top and it's covered with embossed metal in a floral design. The trunk still has both of its original leather handles and they seem to be pretty sturdy. It measures approximately 30 1/2" long X 17" wide X 19" high at its highest point near the center. The tray for the inside of the trunk is missing. The hardwood slats on the trunk look to be in good condition and all of the metal and wood on the trunk is all held in place with brass plated tacks. The bottom of the trunk is covered with black metal and 3 hardwood slats that have done a great job of protecting the trunk over the past 100+ years. There are four(4) tiny metal wheels near each corner on the bottom which makes it easier to move around on any hard flat surface. ... moreThe key is missing for the old brass lock and we're not 100% positive that the lock is functional so it will arrive open. There are two(2) hinges on the back that hold the lid securely to the bottom and there are two metal clasps that keep it closed tightly in front, one of these is bent and does not close properly, it will need to be repaired. There is quite a bit of surface rust on all the metal on the outside of the trunk but there is no rust through and there are no holes visible. The inside is clean and dry and it retains its original paper lining. Most folks like to remove the old paper, sand down the interior and then either seal the wood or line the trunk with cedar, this eliminates any lingering musty odors and makes it a nice place to store blankets or seasonal clothing at the end of your bed. Trunks like this are becoming very difficult to find and eventually I'm sure they will be extremely rare. Their uses are many and will only be limited by your imagination. Antique Barrel Stave-Saratoga Trunk Measures- L 28" x W 16" x H 21" Estimated to be made in the 1870's Very Clean& sturdy for it's age Barrel Stave- Horizontal Wood S lats Ladies Saratoga Trunk-Dome top Outside- Made of two diff erent color metals.Copper finish& a black finish. The main metal looks to be copper but I don't have a way to test to be sure. H orizontal wood looks to be oak but again I can't say with certainty. The top is rounded or dome shaped(Not a steamer) The front has two functional latches.Freely slides up and down to lock the trunk. They are marked with patented da te PAT.JUL.972 The cen ter latch/lock seems functional but there is not a key. These three pieces of hardw are look original and are intact. The sides are missing the handles.I assume they were leather based on the remnants ... moreunder the hardware. Handle hardware is intact with some rust. The bottom has 4 steel roller wheels.At present there is velcro on the wheels to protect the floors. Inside- Has original paper with Victorian picture stuck to the underside of the top.This looks to be an original Victorian chromolithograph print. Print measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" Has one hinge on the right side. There is no evidence that the left side ever had a hinge so I do not believe it is missing. The metal work on the left top side of the inside is slightly bent. With some minor work and the use of a mallet it can be re-shaped. Up for auction is a nice condition antique steamer trunk with a built in quilted compartment. Solid wood with metal and leather hardware. This is a sharp. Interesting piece to accent any room. Quilted blue floral print inside of trunk with thick lace detail around the edges. The inside top compartment is also covered in the fabric. Very nice condition. Wood color is absolutely beautiful.
