I may have mixed the doll clothes and the baby clothes as it is hard to tell with some of them. I think this must be two different lots of clothes as some look considerable older than others. Some are stained, none have been cleaned as I don't dare try. There is quite a variety of dresses, pantaloons, bibs,bonnets etc. some quite lovely and in good condition, some quite worn. I have tried to get everything in the photos. I am listing items for sale from my historic Waterford, Maine home after downsizing to a much smaller home. Antique Wood Child's Doll Trunk Chest Litho Paper ~~needs work
For your consideration is this primitive antique wood Child's or Doll Trunk. Rounded top. The inside is covered with litho paper designs, very nice, with compartments. Unfortunately, some previous owner covered the outside with thick gold gilt paint, peeling off. Other flaws include: the leather straps are dry and split in two, appears to be missing hinges in the back. I think the wood is walnut, not positive. The trunk measures about 8 1/2" tall, and 12" by 8"

Here is a colorful old metal steamer trunk for a child. The antique measures approx 19" x 10" x 10" The doll chest has tremendous character. And is painted red& blue. It has a hanger inside and looks like it's been used for travel before since the former owner's name is attached. The NEW YORK CENTRAL SYSTEM tag shows an old railroad train traveling down the tracks& reads' The scenic water level route' while the name of former owner is written on the back. As you can see. Up for auction is a refinished antique doll trunk or salesman sample chest. This little trunk measures 15inches long by 8 inches deep and 8 inches high. There was no tray with this trunk when found but one was built for it out of oak and poplar. The trunk itself is made from pine and is metal bound. All the metal has been hand burnished but enough of the patina has been left to preserve the antique character of the piece. The lock is an Eagle lock and the latches function but are no longer spring loaded. The trunk has been refinished in a golden oak stain with multiple coats of sealer both inside and out. The original covering has been left on the underside to give a sense of the original look. The trunk is in overall good shape but because it is over 100 yrs old there are dings. Dents splits and cracks but these are minor and add to the ... moreoverall antique feel. It is a very well made solid little trunk that will last a lifetime if cared for. This trunk measures 15" long 9" wide and 9" tall.The outside of it is in very good condition.The inside will need a little work. A piece of wood that acts as a ledge for the tray is missing and the wood in the back of the trunk has a piece missing.Someone plastered the space and the plaster eventually fell out. Auto epoxy body filler would do the job to fill that void and a 1" x 1" strip of wood wood replace the ledge.

It measures 14 1/2" long, 8" wide and 5 1/2" tall. It has obviously been well used which is understandable if it was a child's toy. It has some condition issues that I have tried to show in the photos. There are two pair of baby shoes, one crocheted and is 3 1/2" long and one vinyl( that has a size"2" and"Made in USA" on the bottom and is 4 1/2" long. There are 6 pair of doll shoes, 5 appear to be leather, some quite stiff. There is one odd shoe. Two of the pair are ballet slippers, one is satin. Antique dome top style miniature trunk. The small trunk may have been a child's doll trunk or possibly a salesman's sample. The brass lock has patent dates of March 69 and April 77. The circa 1877 trunk measures about 15 1/2" long x 10" wide x 12 1/2" tall. As pictured. The trunk has the original leather handles and interior tray. The exterior of the trunk has stamped metal with flower designs. The antique trunk is in original condition with leather intact handles and rollers on the bottom. No rust through was found on the metal. The interior paper has wear and the tray has old inactive insect damage. There is no other insect damage to the trunk. Only the back side of the tray. Nice Antique Paper Litho Doll Trunk - ABC Alphabet & Children
This auction is for a beautiful antique ABC Paper Litho Doll Trunk with the Alphabet and Children playing and it is older than the hills. It measures 14" long x 8 1/4" wide and it is 9" tall. It still has its two leather handles( one on each end) and it is in well worn condition but even so it has the most wonderful look to it. It has paper loss and paper wear- it is tarnished around the hardware and the metal trim. It has gouges, rips, dents, tears, scratches, dings, soil spots, lifting paper, cracks, splits, etc. in other words age appropriate wear and tear- and it still displays really well. It is a fantastic early collectible doll trunk and it is one of those antiques that just keeps on getting better and better with age. It is a great find and a beautiful piece of the past as well. Up for this no reserve listing is an antique doll truck. Or ladies accessory. I'd guess this piece dating from mid to late 1800s. It measures 12" height, 14" wide, and 9"deep. It's covering is leather with a fish scale diamond pattern, and accented with tin or copper embossing on the front and lid. There is also a metal handle on each side and a lockable clasp(lock not included) on the front. All the hardware, including the hinges, is in excellent shape with great patina. The tin accents are peeling off in the corners. There are nicks to the corners and edges, and done wood damage around the clasp(see photos) The lining is in excellent shape! Adorable Old Lithographed Child's Doll Domed Steamer Trunk with its original Tray Insert Approx. 12" across x 7" deep x 7" High. Wood with detailed paper litho decorative gold. Brown, and black design of pattern and straps to simulate old trunk design. Has metal accent lock closure and brackets, but front lock was for look only and was not designed to actually work. Believe this would have been possibly a salesman sample or display piece or possibly as a little girl's toy doll trunk back in the day! No manufacturer markings that we could find. Very old with wonderful nostalgic charm! This is a vintage(not new) item and should be considered as such. Condition: Sweet unusual vintage steamer trunk toy or salesman sample in aged"played with" used condition. Is delicate due to its age and construction and has age ... moreand playwear as pictured which gives this piece its unique aged antique charm. Litho paper has darkened, worn and peeled, and looks to have dirt/moisture/age spots, as pictured. Outside litho has steamer trunk details and inside is blue and white swirling vine design. Someone has glued picture/stamps of assorted children's faces and two old US flags on the inside lid. Strap around center has worn and curled on edges. Metal pieces have darkened/rusted in places and brackets on back are loose. One of the brackets is missing one of its four stud nails. Amazingly, it still has its original paper litho tray insert, but bottom of insert has detached from two sides tearing the litho and would need repair. As this is a vintage piece, it will come"as is" and as pictured. We will leave any cleaning up winning bidders preference and expertise. I can remember as young girl, this trunk in my great grandmother's house with dolls' sitting inside it. The interior paper that it is lined with is adorable. I have taken an"up close' picture so you can truly appreciate the darling depictions. The trunk contains a removable shelf that is in very good shape. I have shown photos of the shelf both in the trunk and removed. The trunk itself is in normal. Aging condition- indicative of a piece this old. It is from the 1890's-1910's era. The flat top of the trunk has been"depressed" a bit on the top. it is not totally flat anymore, due to age- a bit concave as I tried to show in the photos. Beautiful Antique Doll Trunk & Treasures - Clothes
This auction is for a beautiful wooden antique doll trunk and it comes with some lovely treasures inside. It measures 11 1/2" x 7 1/4" wide and it is almost 7 1/2" tall. The wood is beautiful and this antique doll trunk has a slight dome shaped top. The cover is lined on the inside in some very nice ancient paper(the paper has some stains but even so it is still very nice) and the pattern is lovely. It has a wonderful wooden tray(insert) and the inside is pretty neat and clean. The trunk has lots of age appropriate wear including some splits near two of the corners on the top- the lock hardware on the inside is missing and there is no key- and the outside has normal nicks. Scratches, gouges, marks, dings, etc. in other words age appropriate wear and tear but this is just one of those antiques that keeps on getting better and ... morebetter as it ages- it has the most wonderful look to it. This auction is for 3 neat items- an ancient antique doll trunk- an antique china shoulder head marked Germany 2 G- and a nice old antique cloth doll body from Germany. This nice old doll trunk measures 6" x 9 3/4" and it is 4" tall and it shows lots of wear- it has paper loss. Scratches, paper wear, peeling, gouges, cracks, wood chips, etc. but it is one of those antiques that looks better and better as it ages. It has a lovely oval picture of a very pretty lady inside and it has an ancient tray inside as well. It is older than the hills. Next is a lovely antique china shoulder head and she is 2 3/4" tall x almost 2 1/4" wide and she is beautiful. The trunk may have been painted the copper color but the wood is still its natural color and whether the black on the tin staves is original I don't know. This listing is for what i believe to be a miniature humpback trunk for dolls. I have seen others listed as salesmen's samples. I don't know the difference. So, you be the judge. it seems to be in really good shape for it's age. please look at all the photos and ask questions. it measures 12" wide 8 7/8" deep and 10 1/4" tall, including the hump. It looks like a child used a crayon on the inside. Both leather handles are present. It is missing a few of the brass tacks here and there. also, someone long ago colored it with blue paint as I can see the original gold outlines and decorations thru the paint. please note I DO ACCEPT RETURNS. MINIATURE OR DOLL ANTIQUE DOME TOP WOOD TRUNK
Up for bid is a very nice antique miniature or doll size wood dome top trunk. Believed to be from the last turn of the century. This small wood trunk, is covered with a brown and black paper, wood slats, tin corners, tin hardware, cardboard trim and once upon a time, leather handles. The paper is missing or torn in some spots, as is some of the original cardboard trim, and the handles are missing. The inside is a whole different story, fashioned with wall to wall wallpaper, and a tray to boot. There is a cloth strap inside which once held the trunk top open, so that the top did not break the hinges, when let go of. The strap can easily be re-fastened to the inside lid. The inside contents as found appear to be doll clothes and blankets or quilted items, and your getting those as well. Priced high over the years, I probably only ever owned ... moremaybe a small handful of these in the last 40+ years of being in business of buying antiques. They are rare to find, especially in such nice condition as this. A great project piece, just waiting to be refinished and used to keep jewelry, make it into a humidor for your cigars, or give it to a small child who might want to use it for dolls or small collectibles. The trunk measures 16" in length x 10-1/2" high x 9-3/4" wide. Gorgeous Antique Doll Trunk & Quilt
This auction is for a gorgeous antique doll trunk and it is a real beauty. It measures 20.5" x 11.5" wide and it is 12.5" tall. Even though this early doll trunk is worn around the edges and the leather has worn through(and split in places) all around. It is an incredible piece and it displays so beautifully. The leather handles on the sides are missing and it looks like there used to be two more on the top in which to swing it up by but they are not there now. It has a wonderful covered divided tray on the inside and there were lots of old pins(and old tissue paper) in it when I got this trunk. I have used it to store antique dolls for many years and it is a fabulous display piece in and of itself. The metal hardware around the edges is really fantastic- I have had many early trunks and I have never seen this rugged rounded ... morehardware on any of the others that I have had and it is incredible how well it has protected this beautiful early trunk. This incredible piece has marks, dings, rust, scratches, gouges, leather wear and leather splits, spots, etc. but that only adds to its character. There is a latch which secures the lid down which likely may have been an after thought. One hinge on the back is coming loose. So you'll want to reattach it. Nice Ancient Antique Doll Trunk & Early Doll
This auction is for a wonderful(ancient) antique doll trunk(and it is older than the hills) and it also comes with a neat early stocking cloth doll as well. This nice old antique paper covered wooden doll trunk measures 10" x 6 1/4" and it is 5 1/2" tall and as you can see it is so old that the paper on the outside is in very rough condition- the top part of the lock has broken off- and it is pretty worn around the edges- even so it is a fantastic very early trunk. What is left of the scene on this paper covered trunk looks so fascinating and I can see a big round zodiac sign with the months of the year surrounding it on the back and it also has lots of people all around it too on the paper as well. I can make out the words on the front at the bottom e Lion. Carr- but the rest of the words are missing. The inside is pretty ... moreneat and clean and when you open it up the cover sits kind of crooked at a slight angle. Even in this condition it is a great find and it displays so beautifully. Antique 1920s Excelsior Salesman Sample Steamer Trunk Miniature Doll Trunk Measurements: Trunk 12" Length 8 1/4" Height 8 1/4" Width Tray 10 3/4" Length 7" Width 2" Height 5 pounds 13 ounces Good antique condition. My client's uncle purchased this trunk for my client when she was a child ill in hospital in the 1920s. The trunk is constructed from wood. Covered with a dark green heavy weight brocade pattern cloth on the outside and green and blue floral design paper on the interior. There are a few scratches and small areas of wear on the outside covering; around some of the metal hardware. The bottom, which has wear spots of less than 1/8" diameter, and one line, less than 1/8" W x 1/2" L, on the lid. A few of these wear areas reveal a cloth weave under the dark green surface. The lid and body ... moreof the trunk have metal banding. Corners and hasps and lock which are attached with metal round head rivets. Metal has age patina. Some rust where finish has worn with surface scratches and surface rub wear. It looks like the metal hardware on the corners and the locks once had a brass finish which shows sporadically across the different metal parts. The bottom metal banding had a black finish once upon a time. All of the banding may have been black. There is no key for the trunk. The outside paper is in good condition with minor scuffing. The interior floral paper has crayon markings on the lid and bottom. There is some missing paper on the interior lid and on trunk's interior sides along the top edges. The insert tray has one intentionally slanted side. The tray is lined with the matching paper and there is missing paper on the corners and along the top rim edge. The tray paper has some stain with powdery residue. The interior lid stop leather strap is broken. Metal central lock device is stamped: USA EXCELSIOR STAMFORD. Has been in the family since the early 1970's. Features: Small wooden chest of square design with lovely red/brown lithograph paper bearing beautiful designs. Inside there is a removable. 2 compartment top tray. Tray rails are solid and existing. Tray fits firmly and is supported. All metal stays are solid and in place. Paper covering is original. No mildew or musty smells. Metal features are not damaged nor bent. Lid closes firm and completely aligned. Hinge tight. Straight and completely aligned. Inside. This antique doll trunk is in good condition with new hinges. There is a lift out tray with a few little paper doll pieces and some loose antique stickers which you may glue to the inside of the trunk's lid. If you wish. The trunk is 11 3/4" wide, 7 1/2" tall, and 7 1/2" deep. There is the original latch but no key. The clothing inside is in good condition(there may be some stains, some small holes, and some missing snaps or buttons) except for the christening gown(the one all the way on the upper left) which is in poor condition with a larger hole on the chest, some thinning, and a section of torn lace on the hem. To give you an idea of some of the sizes of the clothing, the larger gray coat is 11" long, the smaller blue coat is 6" long, the peach flowery dress with the black trim is 11 3/4" long, and the ... morechristening dress with the torn lace(which is repairable I think) is 24" long. This is a salesman's sample. Child's or doll sized steamer trunk. I believe the Corbin lock was made between 1890-1905, so I suspect the trunk is about that age as well. The trunk and hardware are the same quality as a full-sized steamer trunk. Consequently, it is strong and sturdy for its size. The trunk is 20.25"W, 12.75"H, and 11"D. The leather side handles are gone, and there are losses to the leather trim and green coloration. I also believe there used to be a tray that fit in the interior. Additionally, the key is missing so the center latch does not operate. These keys can be replaced with the lock's information. The interior appears quite clean. It is made of wood and has brass bands or str aps around it. The top s helf comes out. And it is missing the lid for the smaller container portion. The lock still work s. But I do not have the key. The bird on the in side appe ars to be of the Vic tori an area and is so pretty. Both of the leather straps or handles are missing as well. Antique Child's Doll Trunk. Dome top, embossed tin, very small & cute!
Hello, Today I am offering an antique child's dome top trunk. I was told it is circa 1880s. It is a beautiful combination of black and silver. With a lovely star pattern. The inside is covered with antique wallpaper. It comes with the original tray. It is 14 inches long, almost 8 inches wide, and 8 3/4 inches at the tallest point. This trunk is super tiny and can fit into almost any space! Unfortunately. Due to the age of this piece, it does have a few flaws. It has dings, dents, and scratches. There is a small gap on the top between the tin and the wood, it is featured in the 7th photo. Two of the little slat clamps are broken on the end, and one is bent. One of the brackets on the inside isn't level and causes the tray to be a bit tilted. Also, I do not have the key. Buy it now or make me an offer! If you have any questions.
