Probably chestnut, for a total height of aprox 10 inch. The tree is well proportioned and great care was taken with the roots on the trunk and the forks of the branches. Original Rare Vintage Wood Arranbee Nancy Doll Trunk Great vintage all wood Arranbee Nancy Doll trunk or wardrobe armoire complete with original red drawers and attached label. I do not collect' Nancys' so I am not familiar with that particular doll. But I think this trunk will be a fun display piece for any doll-fashion, composition or baby doll of the 30's-60's era. You cannot find this quality anymore-never in wood, for sure! Look at the photos closely for the details of the character of the finish-it has been well used, but well loved too! The latch closes, but have no key. The interior red liner with drawers with the cutest little pull knobs are all in what I consider great condition for its age. It comes with some doll cloths but they have no tags so I’m not sure of maker…may be handmade. Rare Antique Chinese Tibetan Handmade Painted Wood Box Small Trunk Dragon
Up for auction is this rare antique handmade Chinese Tibetan wood box. It measures 21" long. 12.25" tall, and 7.25" deep. There are metal clasps on the sides and one in the front for closure. There are also metal pieces on the exterior of the box, painted over in red and black. The lid has a dragon painted on it and there is a face painted on the front of the box. This is a very interesting piece to say the least. The lithographs represent children playing and portraits of women with borders of foliate designs amongst her images of sparrows and flowers. The colors are nice and vivid and the images are pleasant to look at. There is a piece on the larger side compartment that has split in half. But the rest seems sturdy. The exterior is constructed of hammered brass and wood. The leather handles on the side have fallen off. The lock is marked Corbin. As shown with the last patent date being Aug. 30, 1887. It measures approximately 35” wide. 20” deep and stands 19-1/4” high. Very strong cute little old trunk. Made just EXACTLY like a large one! It may have been a doll trunk because of the size. It is 16" wide and only 10 3/4" tall. The inside is is mostly white-ish and it does show use, and it all looks original! It has the original old tray just like it did when it was new. 12 photos with damage showing, nothing is hidden. That should show it from every angle, even the leather handles worn off on both sides. Easy to repair those handles with an old worn out leather belt. But I do NOTHING to old items! The bottom is shown as well. It does show age over all, and a bit worn canvas is places. It was very well protected from real damage, and is probably from the 1920's or so. The inside tray is 15" wide x 7 1/4" and opens up, plus is easy to take out. This trunk weighs almost 8 pounds, so ... moreit is quality& made really well! Most sellers would call this a"salesman's sample trunk" BUT without a trunk company name, I will NOT call this a sample! Made of bent wood and in excellent condition. The key plate appears to be brass. Overall very good condition for its age. Top compartment is all there, Photos 6 and 7 are the top compartment open and closed, the bottom tray is missing. This is for a wood doll case. It does not hold the standard American Girl Doll. It holds a 12 inch or smaller doll. It is really nice. Pictures don't do it justice. Unfortunately the side has a little gash in it. The gash is about 1/2 inch. That happened in the mail. It has a nice interior& drawers. It is made of wood with a gold design painted on it. It measures 13 inches from top to bottom. Closed it is 6 1/2 inches. It has a drawer on the one side& a small O ring on the top to hand some doll clothes. The drawer itself measures 3 inches. The other side is for the doll with a ribbon on the inside to hold her in. It would fit the smaller American Girl Dolls not the standard 16 inch ones. The closure latch is ornate and pretty. The interior is completely lined in burgundy felt. Depending on the way the light hits it. I would say it is a Dark Walnut or Light Cherry shade. It is not lighter on one side- it's an even and consistent wood tone. Measurements: 17" long x 12.5" high x 9.5" deep. Being over 40 years old. The chest is in superb condition- I can only find a small chip on the back leg which is not too noticeable being a wood tone.
