This is a beautiful genuine antique Lane brand cedar lined hope chest which belonged to my grandmother. She was given this as a 9th grade graduation gift in 1952 from her mom and dad. I do not know the actual date of manufacturing only the year she was given it. According to the product information given below and the serial number. The date of manufacturing is 08/02/50. The color is a beautiful medium brown and made out of solid cedar wood and veneer on the outside and brown stain finish. This chest is very secure and sturdy. Up for bids is this Antique 19thC Wooden Child's Doll Trunk that is wood with a wallpaper covering. It stands 7 1/2" high x 12" wide x 7 1/2" depth. It has an old latch lock. That closed securely, the key is missing. Inside it is lined with a small floral print paper and has a small label sticker of two children dressed in period clothes playing, blowing bubbles. They have a pan and the boy is holding a tube for blowing the bubbles and the little girl is trying to catch the bubble. There may have been a try at one time but is not there now. An old piece of cloth attaches to the top but not attached to the bottom of the trunk to prevent the top from falling back. It would display Kestner. Jenny Lind,Halbig and all antique and vintage dolls and their outfits beautifully. It is domed shaped. Made out of solid wood. The top and sides are nailled together with hob nails. On the sides it has white metal handles. Unfortunately the dome has flatened somewhat. Maybe a little girl or buy sat on it. I think a wood restorer could fix it. The dimensions of the trunk are: 1' 4" 16" long x 10 1/8" wide 9 7/8" high at the top of the dome. And 10 1/8" high at the lowest part of the dome. The lid top is made out of 1/4" solid wood and the sides are about 1/2" in thickness and about 3/4" ... morehigh. The base is made out of 1/2" thick boards on the front and back and the sides are about 3/4" thick. The base is made out of 2 rough boards 1/2" thick. On the inside one finds a box nailed to the side, probably to house all the acruetments for the doll the box is about 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2 3/4" The box came with 2 little wood hangers, one is 4 1/2" long x 1/4" thick and the other is 3" long x 1/4" thick. It also came with a little clothes clip. The inside of the trunk is lined with white paper. The lid is help open by a material strap about 1 1/4" wide. Antique Primitive Wood Coffer Box Document Blanket Trunk Chest Hand-cut Dovetail
Small size hand-made wood box. The trunk style box measures about 22" long x 12" deep x 10 1/2" tall. These types of boxes may have been used for document storage. Silver, sugar and other valuables, linens, etc. The interior has a fitted storage compartment with a flip-top, possibly for candles or jewelry storage. Each side of the box is constructed with hand cut dovetails. There are two wrought iron handles that appear original. The handles are secured with pins as pictured. The lid is held in place with two strap hinges that appear to have been replaced at some time. The locking mechanism appears original, no key. On either side of the key hole on the front panel are two hand hammered metal decorations. At some point there were the same types of decorations were on the top of the lid. The locking hasp is missing. The lid ... moreis constructed of one board as are all sides. The box is solid and sturdy with numerous scratches and a few old repairs. Nice hand waxed patina. Wonderful oak& bound iron silver chest measuring 33 1/4" long x 24 1/4" tall x 19 7/8" deep. Tag on inside reads. Edward& Sons"Silversmith's to the King" 99 Buchanon St Glasgow. This chest was used for storage& transportation of a family's silver. Blue lining inside has been partially removed but still remains on the removable shelf. There is something handwritten on the inside of lid in pencil. There is a crack on the top as can be seen in pic#s 6& 7. There is a scratch on the front to the left of the hasp(see 1st picture) There is also a small metal prop piece(kind of like a pin) that the hinge rests on that allows the hinge to be propped by itself which is broke(see last pic) The wood cane holding up the lid is not included. Antique Dome Top Wood Trunk Dated 1882- Refinished
Beautiful wood and metal dome top trunk is dated 1882 on brass front plate. Measures 29" tall at center hump; sides are 24" tall; 34" left to right; 22" front to back; this is a really large trunk. Totally refinished with 2 coats of stain and top coat of poly for easy cleaning. Stain gives the metal a brassy look. Center plate is brass. Inside has new wallpaper; left side of top is wood compartment that opens in center. Right has small wood box that opens. Tray was stripped and left bare wood. Two buckles on front- used to have leather straps that were cut off and left that way- just seemed to get in the way. New leather handles on sides. Original rollers on bottom, Normal flaws in wood that you can see in photos and don't hurt the looks one darn bit. Truly a lovely antique trunk, perfect for keepsake or blanket chest ... moreat end of a bed. Because of size and weight have to list it as pick up only or buyer arranges shipping with freight company. Good luck.

OOAK Vintage Wood Steamer Trunk Chest - Hand Crafted - Florida Bound Sticker
What a great find! I believe this little steamer trunk is from Mini Land as I have seen one or two listed on e-bay before in the past. But IMHO, none of them looked quite as authentic or well-made as this! I have a similar trunk.full-size.that's been in our family for years and this looks exactly like it! I believe this trunk is from the 1970's or so.if anyone can enlighten me. I would appreciate it! It is crafted of wood and has been painted to mimic an aged piece. I do think the owner of the trunk customized it as this does not look like the typical trunk that was manufactured by Mini Land from what I can tell. I believe the fancy'hardware' on trunk is made of heavy metal foil.like the corner stickers you would use to put a picture into a scrap book. The handles and lock are made of heavy black felt or wool, I'm not ... morequite sure which and they are glued down and decorated with metallic beads to mimic the screws and bolts that would have been used in the real thing. There is a sticker on the outside of the trunk that appears to be the traveling papers from Florida Southern Railway. The interior is wallpapered in a cream and dusty blue pineapple striped pattern. There is a very old picture of two little girls smiling and eating over what looks like an old advertisement for cookies or crackers. The ad says"Compliments of" over the girl's heads.and"Henry Heide" below the can. The insert does come out of the trunk and there are two brackets inside to prevent the insert from going all the way to the bottom.just like a real steamer trunk! There is a slight curve to the lid of the trunk. But it does not completely close nor does it stand straight up when opened. It does stay open, but leans back a bit, as shown in the photos. It appears the lid was attached with some kind of heavy-duty cloth tape that has been painted over to match the wood. Maybe the paint dried and shrunk a bit, and now the lid won't close tight, I'm not sure, but it definitely doesn't take away f

ESTATE FIND-CARVED BUFFALO HORN ELEPHANT ON WOOD BASE TRUNK UP
Please note that I do refund any overcharge in shipping. I never know what box something goes in so I have to estimate. And since I cant ask for more I have to make sure there is enough. The shipping quote does include insurance and delivery confirmation. I do not make money on shipping. I have a low breakage ratio because I spend money buying good packing materials. This elephant came from a recent estate sale. It is really well done and intricately carved. Please look at the close up photos. The detail is pretty amazing. The people at the sale thought it was from Buffalo horn but weren't positive. I checked it with the hot pin test and it failed to penetrate any surface. It is in great shape with no signs of damage. It stands 6.75 inches tall to the top of the trunk and is almost 4 inches across the wood base. The eyes are glass. The ... moretusks some sort of bone. I have no idea how old it is, where it was made or who made it as its not marked and the remains of a sticker show nothing to even give me a hint.
