The exterior is sturdy wood(has crack in lid) covered with cloth(canvas? and metal(tin) edging strips. A tin bottom and metal locks and handle holders. The hingles have some rust. The leather handles are gone and there isn't any key. The sad part is that while I was taking photos of the tin bottom, the trunk somehow locked itself and I don't have a key. I did check with the local Antique Mall and they had some that were close, but they didn't work. I'm so thankful that I took photos of the inside first! One of the metal ones is covered in fabric and one is wrapped with crochet/nylon loops. The nylon-wrapped one I think is from 1970’s and the rest are of unknown age. But some could be quite old because they all came from different locations(they are from estate sales) The two wooden ones and the cloth-wrapped metal one all have the ability to fold down the hook part. Which I think means they came from steamer wardrobe trunks. The wooden ones are the longest and measure 17” long. The one with the stitched-on fabric has stitches that are coming out and t he one wrapped in cloth has some holes in the fabric(see photos)

Doll Steamer Trunk- Vintage 14" tall Opened it is about 15 5/8" across. The closet portion is about 3" deep and has two wood hangers. The drawers each have a leather pull and are 7" across and 3 7/8" deep. Outside and top have different travel stickers attached. This particular case does not have a lock only the two hinged clasps. I do not see a manufacturer or distributor name though the hinged clasp looks like it may have an initial within a sunburst mark. Could just be a design and not mean anything.I don't know. Antique Folk Art Monogrammed Hand Made Wood BOX Trunk Chest with Tray
Nice piece of folk art Americana with charm and appeal for use and display. Primitive hand made monogrammed B.V.P. hinged lid box with inside tray. Box measures 10.5"l x 5.5"w x 5"h. Inside tray measures 9"l x 4.5"w x 2.5"h. Back hinges have 4 screws holding each hinge. There are no marks of any other screws, they probably used what they had, or only used what was necessary. Old dark varnish, dirt, dust, some trim work on front are missing. Still quite collectible. Should clean up nicely. Buying as is in found condition. Please see pictures for complete condition. Antique LARGE Wood Steamer Trunk Chest 100 years+
This is one old trunk. It has brass braces at all corners and brass rivots throughout perimeter leather. The lock is still attached and all the latches operate properly. This steamer trunk has a compartment under the bottom for additional storage. Both leather handles are there but split into. This antique trunk is still solid for moving and storage/show piece. Antique 1800's Primitive Wood Immigrant Chest Travel Steamer Treasure Trunk with steamed original wood handles. Good condition for age. Worn and distressed from age and use with some cracks in the wood. Missing one roller wheel on bottom. Scuffs and scratches. Has decorative paper over the outer trunk and is stained and missing some of the paper. No key. Someone has added wall paper on the inside. The picture is original. There's a small typed letter that has been added as well. Trunk measures approx. 23 3/4" wide not counting the handles x 15" tall x 13 1/2" deep. Sold as is as found with no warranty's.

1900'S GARGOYLE FIGURAL FACE CARVED OAK WOODEN TRUNK/CHEST NORTH WIND WOOD ORNAT
THIS IS A EARLY TRUNK FROM AROUND THE 1920'S MEASURING 40.5" X 19" AND 20.5" TALL THE LID HAS A SLIGHT CURVE ON EITHER FRONT CORNER. THE GARGOYLE FACE HAS A OLD CHIP TO THE TOP OF THE FACE. SEE PHOTOS FOR DETAILS. THIS TRUNK HAS A NICE PATINA. EXPECT IMPERFECTIONS. THERE IS A HOLE WHICH IS MOST LIKELY ORIGINAL TO THE WOOD ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE ON THE TRUNK UP BY THE TOP. ABOUT 1" BLENDS IN WITH PIECE. THERE ARE TWO PLUGS. ONE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE TOP, THEY KIND OF LINE UP. THE PLUGS GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE LID. STRUCTURALLY THIS PIECE IS SOUND. VERY STURDY. THE HINGES ARE NEWER. THE FEET IN THE BACK ARE ROUND. PROBABLY NOT ORIGINAL. FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS. 1900's Antique Yale& Towne Steamer Trunk Chest With Wood Brass-Pick-Up Only. This chest is from the early 1900s and belonged to my Grandmother. It is marked Yale& Towne. Stanford, Connecticut, on the lock plate. Nice condition for its age. There is some wear on the handles, exterior, and interior tray. No key, but very usable since it latches. I believe the latch will lock, but untested due to lack of key. See Photos. Any questions, please write. WESTERN WELLS FARGO & CO BANK BANKING WOOD WOODEN TRUNK STRONG BOX STAGECOACH
This auction is for a neat western old west stagecoach wood trunk Wells Fargo& Co strong box. The strong box has"Wells Fargo& Co" painted on the front. There are iron handles on the sides and iron hinges in back as well as an iron hinge front. The box measures 12 inches wide across the top. Is 8 1/4 inches tall and is 9 inches deep front to back. It is a well made sturdy box that is a really neat item for a western collector. The box does have some wear and use as shown in my pictures but no damage other than paint and box wear and some surface rust. The box weighs about 11 pounds! The box could have been a movie prop but I am not sure of the use. Shipping and handling is $22.95 anywhere in the USA except Hawaii and Alaska. The unique feature was a trunk that is completely covered with strips of wood over a thick wooden body, making it more durable and attractive than others. In the patent description, Mr. Eaton explained that this trunk could be given a fine finish which would make it"useful even as a piece of furniture suitable for a chamber" yes, that means"room" to us) The name"Excelsior" was given to the trunk style after the patent was granted and it means"superior" or"the highest standard" The oak slat trunks were made in the U.S. but not by the Excelsior Lock Co. Loved through several generations. Some peeling of covering paper/tears, I see a couple of small gouges on the box. Some puckering of the paper. The exterior handle is gone.see picture. Stains inside as shown, as well as rust on the interior metal hanger. Clothes with stains, tears and loose threads. I think the clothes are for different doll sizes. No unpleasant odors.
