Antique Vanderman stagecoach/railroad trunk from the late 1800's to early 1900's. The patent date on the name plate is 1897. The trunk/Strong box is in original condition and has not been restored. One top board is damaged as shown in photograph. The rest of the trunk including the bottom is solid inside and out. This trunk is solid and in very good condition for its age. This is a rare trunk. Large Antique Dome Top Camel Back Steamer Trunk Tin & Wood --- 34” x 26” x 19”
This antique dome top trunk is in marvelous condition for its age. There is no major damage to this trunk. Just normal wear and tear that you would expect in an item this old. This beauty has tons of character! The beautifully curved dome top, with 4 strips of curved 2-inch wood…is a sight to behold. Just on the top of this trunk are 14 ornately etched plates of metal hardware. All the tin on the chest is embosed with a raised floral pattern. It is truly beautiful. The lock comes without a key and I am not sure if it works. Both latches operate properly. Both leather side handles are missing. They can easily be replaced but I want to leave the trunk 100% original. The trunk is made from tin, metal, and wood. There is a total of seventeen 2” wood strips of varying lengths found on all sides of the trunk. The wood strips look like oak to me…they’re ... morein excellent condition. The trunk measures about 34" long across the bottom x 19” wide at the ends x 26” tall to the center of the dome, which is the highest point. The insert inside the trunk is fully functional and just needs a new coat of lacquer. The trunk was found with many others in the basement of an old building in lower Manhattan. The building manager said they were stored there years ago from unclaimed steamer trunks owned by immigrants who came over from Europe to Ellis Island. Please ask any questions. Up for your consideration is a hand made set of steampunk goggles with interchangeable lenses. They are made with leather and brass and will accent your steampunk garb nicely. Included is a nice wood and leather pillowed trunk to store them in for protection. I kept them red lenses in for the shows I attended but this set does come with mirrored lenses as well. As you can see in the last photo. The mirrored lenses have some of the mirror finished missing. This is supposed to make them look aged. The strap is adjustable to fit many sized heads and/or hats. I am only selling these because my current life situation does not allow me any time to attend shows and festivals where they would be appreciated. I hope someone else can give them some more use. Antique Haunted Shwayder Steampunk Steamer Trunk with Contents This is a very unique and rare auction. You are bidding on an antique trunk and its' contents. A trunk with a very unusual story. Several years ago I purchased a rustic. Old cabin built in 1901 in the woods of the Colorado mountains. There is nothing'normal' about this cabin. One day, as I was getting my furnace updated in the crawlspace, the repairman informed me that there might be an older furnace in the depths of the crawlspace. Curiously, I shimmied my way into the tiny area and came across an old steamer trunk. My hairs stood on end. It was closed but not locked. When I cautiously opened it, I found a few things inside but nothing unusual. I brought those items inside, cleaned them up and placed them on a shelf. As time went by I noticed sounds emitting from ... morethe crawlspace. Not thinking anything of it, I continued on with my days. Then, on one unusual day, I was getting my holding tank pumped out by a new crew of men. One of the fellows mentioned that he heard some noise, a banging sound from the crawlspace and asked me what was down there. I remembered the noises I had heard previously but didn't mention it to him. He then asked me if I would be willing to get my cabin tested for paranormal activity. Apparently, this is something he does on the side. Feeling my hairs stand on end I refused his offer as the last thing I wanted to find out is that there WAS something'paranormal' going on in the space that I lived in! After the men left, I crawled down to the depths of the dusty crawlspace and was shocked to find that the trunk had MOVED! Not only was it in a different spot but it was also laying on its' side, just as you see it in the photos. You may be wondering why I had left the trunk down there. The reason being is that I could NOT get it out! It just physically could not fit through any opening. As if the old cabin was build right over it. And that is a curious mystery on its' own. This is a beautiful wood steamer trunk from the early 1900s. It measures 21" tall. It is 32 l ing and 19" wide. The trunk has an insert and the hinges are replacements. It is in excellent condition, on inspection it does show vintage wear. The side handles are broken and one of the bottom boards is split and the 2 front casters missing. It shows normal scuffing and bumps as you would expect but no abuse. The trunk is solid and sturdy. It comes from a non smoking and pet free home. It is clean and ready to use. 1924 US Military Academy West Point Wood Trunk Foot Locker Box Chest
Heavy. Well-made, box with brass fittings. One lid hinge partially pulls up because the screw holes are stripped. Top opens and there's one drawer with inset pulls. The box has a lock but there's no key. One top corner has a 5" split and there's a shallow 2 1/2" gouge on the top. Photos show these details) Beyond these flaws. The remaining surfaces have only minor scuffs and dents/scratches. Original finish-as far as I can tell. The lining was blue. But only remains on some of the edges. The box appears to be made of mahogany with a softer wood on the inside. I'm not an expert. But it's a heavy, fine-grained wood with a reddish cast-on the unfinished inside lid. Brass label reads: FROM THE CLASS OF 1923. USMA, OCT. 1924" Box measures: 21" x 13 1/2" x 10" A rare piece of American history.

Probably was stained years ago but with no protective finish(polyurathane) Solid wood and is in very nice condition. It has lots of character and the finishing touches are very nice. Black hinges and has a wood handle piece to open lid. What I call a slat top which is strips of wood that run horizontal to form the dome(hump chest) and is a light to medium stain. 17th C MIDEIVAL TRUNK Blacksmith Iron & Wood primitive Travel Chest
Boy where to start.This is a Very Very Old and Very Impressive looking Travel Chest and or Lock Box. A Very Early Construction piece with Iron tacks not Brass and Wonderful Fleur de lis style Blacksmith Forged Hinges. A very early Medieval style Trunk that looks to date to atleast the early 1700's and possibly Early 1600's or so looking at the primitive blacksmith and forging work. So 300 to 400 years old is not out of the question at all. This chest is Guaranteed to be atleast 300 years old& was a fresh find from a Maryland Estate where it had been for the last 100 year when I bought it. Notice the primitive hand made henge pin on one top hinge's I took a close up of. The trunk was originally covered in leather hide which has all but worn away over the century's. It still has some under the tacks but it's brittle ... moreand hard.The sides have some left also. Look around the blacksmith decorative work on the side edges. All of the hard wear looks period to the box and has fully functional hinges though the lock mechanism as you can see has been long removed and a bit forcefully I might ad. It's no big surprise this trunk has been broken into. Probably a number of times and that explains the missing wood around the lock area. I just wonder what this old trunk has had stored in it over the century's. The little bit of man made damage around the lock just helps tell some of it's story but opens up more question in the mind when you see it. I can sit and look at this trunk with my imagination running wild. It's so old and so much history has been recorded during this trunks life I can get lost looking at it and thinking at times. This is a child's antique steamer trunk which has been restored. The trunk measures 16 wide. 11 inche high, and 9 inches in depth. It has been restored although there are only 3 hinges, missing one, and the bottom has not been restored. Two straps on the end. There is a small decal of a little girl inside top of trunk. Antique Wood Brass Bound Military Campaign Chest Trunk
Antique solid wood and brass military/campaign chest. Brass inlay with brass bound corners and a brass handle on each side of the box. Has fully functioning lock with original key and a green key tassel. Beautiful antique item with boxed sections internally(see photos) The pharmacy bottles shown on the photos are not included with the chest nor did they originally come with the box. this is a nice military trunk used. Has solders name ranks where it went and where it left from. others i dont understand. true color is dark green and shinny brass. some one took a brush and put a light coat on it. paint, size of trunk is L-33 W-18 3/4 T-20 3/4. inside is in good shape for its age. latch that hold top from opening all the way is broke. easy to fix. also the lock in the middle is not working but its there side latches work great tight. Please look at all photos. As they are an integral part of description. the shipping price is for 2 day priority shipping.
