This doll chest is in good condition. It has definate aged appearance and patina. There are two areas on the inside where the wood is split to the outside(one on the top and one on the inside backing) scratches and faded areas of original black decorative decor. The bottom has a couple nails sticking out. There is rusting on the decorative brass fixtures. There is some fraying of the wood in various areas and some holes that do not protrude to the outside of the box. There are handles on either side of the box. It appears that the tray and handles were added and are not original to the chest. Very nice and decorative detail and appeal. Inside original interior paper is mostly gone. Measures 18" wide x 10 1/2" high x 7 1/2" deep on the inside with removal of the wooden tray. There is no lock for this trunk. Two beautiful handles on either side. Offered is an early 1900 Trunk which measurers 13 inches high. 36 inches wide and 22 inches deep. It has a center lock labeled"Eagle Lock Co. 178, Terryville, Conn. U.S. which is slightly bent. No key. There are two leather straps originally with the trunk which are not complete. The side handle leather grips are in good condition. The wood slats appear to be oak type of wood, but not positive. The interior is original with no restoration, lid lock needs reattachment, and the truck interior is wooden construction with an extra metal base evident from the outside base. There is one dent in the metal base, which is black color in the photos. The trunk is wrapped in oil cloth or a canvas type of material, with metal corners and metal edges. One metal trim edge on the back of the trunk, near its base, is loose. Original labels on the side ... moreof the trunk and a partial label is on the top. There is some writing undermeath the center lock that is hard to read but it looks like it says"Patented 1867, reissued Aug. and we cant't seem to make out the rest. We believe this is from the late 1800's to early 1900's but are unsure of the actual age. There is some very nice ornate designs on the riveted corners and the black metal on the tops and sides. There is some damaged wood and some damage to the metal on one corner, also some rust on the back hinges. The inside has some cracking in the wood but is still in good shape. Wonderful Vintage Brass/Nail Head Designed/Wood Bodied Miniature Trunk
This is a wonderful piece of American folk art; it is a wooden trunk that is then"wrapped" in brass sheeting and brass straps( see pictures of the top lid; and then studded with silver nail heads of size; they add a beautiful proportion to the overall as well. I would date it early; 1850-1900 and midwest in origin. The hinges additionally are early; the latch and handles are also original to the piece. I think it is quite delightful. Measures 7 1/2" to the top of the dome; 7" across and 5 1/2" deep. Surface has a great; mellow and rich patina; it's a wonderful example that possibly a father made for his child; as their own special trunk or possibly something he made for his bride to be. Rare Vintage Trunk with some Very Interesting Impressions. It is Stamped White Star which I assume means it was used on a White Star Ship. It is Painted and has several flowers painted on it as well. The Patina is very old and looks to be done when the box was made or very shortly after. It is stamped with several words I cant decipher with the exception of"White Star" and the Lot Number. There are some worm holes in the bottom but the chest is very sturdy and in excellent working order. The clasps are tight and easy to use. 20th Century Vintage Solid Wood Carpenter's Chest / Trunk - Philadelphia Salvage
This solid wood(pine) carpenter's trunk was made by a carpenter sometime in the 20th century. Carpenters would fashion themselves these trunks with which they could carry their tools. The interior of the lid has pieces to hold a hand saw. The exterior is painted a dark. Hunter green with expected wear and tear and some white paint splatter. The interior is unpainted. An iron latch suitable for a padlock holds the trunk shut. Simple, iron handles on the sides make carrying easy. The trunk measures 36-3/4" wide x 12" high x 13" deep. It weighs about 35lbs. Vintage Embossed Brass Coal Box/Trunk, Horses Pulling Plow Handmade, Wood
This large handmade coal box/trunk is such a great find! It is a solid wood box completely covered in embossed brass. The design. Which is on the top and front, is a scene of a farmer and his Clydesdale work horses pulling a plow through the field. The sides are an embossed filigree. The metal sheet was cut, embossed and applied to the wood with small nails. There are 2 brass hinges attaching the lid and a safety chain to keep the lid from falling back. This piece measures 20" long. 15" high and 14" wide. It sits on 4 rubber feet which may have been added later. There are some issues with discoloration on the front just above the horses and on one side. Something must have dripped on it and changed the color(see photos) The hinges have rust on them. Antique Vintage wood blanket chest trunk from 1800s
This beautiful solid pine trunk is from the late 1800's. It has the original hardware. Due to its age and material it has a little of the lower molding missing on one side(see photo 2) This is part of its charm. There are two small drawers inside the trunk. I found a nail. As pictured, in the drawer and similar ones in the chest itself showing its age. There is a crack that runs across P art the top of the trunk but doesn't affect its use. Lid closes and o pens. It is sturdy enough to be carried by the handles and a solid piece. No water damage. It would be a great coffee table or blanket chest. The patina is nice and its a beautiful piece from the past. Up for bid is a wonderful vintage salesman sample steamertrunk. A piece of true history. The trunk was crafted by The Rose TrunkCompany of Atchinson. Kansas established 1884. The length is 16 inches. Width is 8.5 inches and 10 inches tall. The condition is what you would expect for an item over 100years old. In my opinion GREAT! Here is a true barn find. Right from a new england farm, super neat design on the front. Chest appears to have original hinges and side handles. There is paper/ travel stamps with early 1900 dates on them. I'm guessing its at least from early 1900s but possibly earlier, has metal overlay on top and on the corners with unique art design on the front. Inside is wood with paper lining. Chest is apprx. 24" long 18" wide and 16" high. A very unique chest, a good size, not too big, make a great accent piece.

This auction is for a very beautiful vintage dome top Steamer Pirate trunk. It has a very pretty pressed tin design(blue) mixed in with the oak wooden strips. It really makes a very pretty display piece It would look great in any area! It is a useable trunk. Both of the old leather side handles are attached still! The large front center hinge lock works fine but I do not have a key for this trunk. Both of the side front locks work well. There are no interior drawers. This wood crate has a nice warm finish and interesting hinges. A latch has been removed from the lid. And there are two handles, one on the end and one below where the latch was. The cabinet has an interior lining that is like corrugated cardboard. The trunk measures 31" L x 19" W x 13" T. The interior measures 28.5" L x 15.5" W x 9 3/4" T with a 1" of additional height inside the lid. This is a nice sized trunk that would work great for storing items, stood on end for a display, or as a low end table. It can be stood on end easily due to the lack of the handle on one end. Vintage Wood Bound Steamer Trunk, Excellent Condition, Wooden Suitcase
Vintage wood bound steamer trunk. There are no identifying marks on the hardware or trunk other than the number 75 below the keyhole on the latch. I believe this trunk was made in the UK as the estate I acquired it from had many vintage items from Europe. However that is not for certain. I am not a collector and know very little about old trunks. So I have taken pictures from every angle so you can see the entire trunk. Please note the third picture, upper left hand corner, a small piece of material is missing. Also note the last picture.the wood banding was broke and repaired at some point in time. Vintage Crystal Lake NY New York 4 Carved Wood Tree Trunk Souvenir Bowls Set
For sale is a set of 4 antique bowls that were obviously souvenir items as they all have Crystal Lake. N.Y. written on them in a black ink. They are quite beautiful in their rustic nature with the exterior being natural tree bark. This might have been some sort of smoking and tobacco set because the large item in Photo#2 is an ashtray with a glass insert. It has a few cigarette marks on the lip. The other three bowls might have held cigarettes, tobacco or matches. I don't think these were designed for food service. The lidded bowl in Photo#3 has a carved hole in the center but I can't imagine why it would have a hole. All in all, very beautiful! As a gauge of size, the ashtray item is 8" across. SOMEONE TOOK THE TIME TO MAKE THIS VERY NICE. THE ACCENTS HAVE BEEN PAINTED GOLD. THE EMBOSSED TIN IS BLUE AND GOLD. BEAUTIFUL MATERIAL LINES THE INSIDE TOP AND BOTTOM PLUS THE TRAY.
