Today you can go anywhere in the entire world within 24 hours by plane. Just think way back when before commercial airlines. People traveled primarily by railroad or by ship. Traveling was long, hard, and exhausting. People would literally live out of these trunks as they traveled for weeks and sometimes months on end. Thus. They were built with quality and built to last, which is why they have stood the test of time! The craftsmanship that went into the construction and design of theses ole’ trunks are truly nothing short of spectacular. I recently discovered this wardrobe trunk buried in the rafters in the attic of a local farm house estate in a in nearby town. It stopped me dead in tracks and I had to literally pick my jaw up off the floor! There was no way I was leaving without this trunk. And lucky for me I had hubby to carry it out of the attic and down 3 flits of stairs! And now for the decription… This is a nice authentic period Wardrobe steamer trunk. It is signed on the exterior by the maker Oshkosh Trunk Company. I am unsure of the exact age. But it was clearly left where I had found it for a very very long time. If I had to guestimate I would say it is likely from the early 20 th century. It measures 40 x 22 x 20 inches and weighs 75 pounds respectfully. The exterior is covered with what appears to be a volcanized material with dozens of original brass. Nails, knobs Hinges, Lock and hardware. The lock comes with key and functions as designed. On the interior right side. The trunk has 5 wood drawers with original deco drawer pulls and covered in swanky antique fabric. This is a Lovely Original Antique Steamer Trunk. Offered at a Low Start ~ With No Reserve* Made of Waxed Canvas on Wood. This is an unusual Steamer Trunk, being Taller than the normal Trunk, which has Super Details. With Contrasting Corners on the Beech Runners. And a matching Central Stripe. The Runners and the whole trunk are studded with Brass details. I have Spent time restoring the Trunk to it's former Glory. Leaving just enough of a hint of Character, that only years of Travelling can bring. To the Edges are Beautiful Brass Bindings. With Two Locks and a Central Catch. Which work well, although one lock is a little sticky, and the catch has the opposite problem, but the lid of the trunk holds happily. Atkinson& Long MFG- Everlasting Lock- made in Petersburg. VA Number D61 for either a Steamer Trunk or Foot Locker? You are bidding on two keys. These belonged to my father who has since passed. We cannot find the trunk. Footlocker, luggage, or whatever that goes with them. I am only guessing that they belong to the"trunk" family because of previous keys sold on Ebay are similar in type and manufacturer. Please do not bid on them if you do not recognize them as such. They are"gold toned" and in fair to good condition. Both of them are numbered"D61" made by Atkinson and Long Everlasting Lock. Petersburg, VA. There are some color imperfections and fading. Vintage Aluminium Steamer Trunk Circa late 1940's/ Early 1950's Sheet Aluminium With Spot Rivets Just Like WW2 Aircraft RARE Dimensions: length 36 Inches long. Width 20 3/25 Inches height with lid closed 14 inches These were made after the second world war with all the surplus sheet aluminium, which was used to make aircrafts. Due to the end of the war, the production of aircraft stopped, leaving a large supply of metal. Items such as desks, medical furniture, and luggage were put into production. This Steamer says'Made In Germany't comes complete with its original brown leather handles and spot rivets(the same used to hold the panels together on fighter planes) As you will see in the images it does have a few knocks which are to be expected for item of this age. Where it has been stored in a garage for many years the cloth ... morelining has a stain, but I would say is in excellent condition for its age.

Vintage Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk Damier Pattern Late 1880's
Antique condition with damage to one corner panel. Pictures show condition. There have been two noticeable repairs most likely done by the manufacturer. The patch on the top is obvious and the lock has been replaced by a different Louis lock which leads me to believe Louis did the repairs. The trunk is intact and structurally sound. For sale is a vintage floral steamer foot locker with T46 Long Lock(no locking mechanism or key) I believe it is from approximately the 1970's due to the design. The locker has signs of wear with some surface scratches. Metal rust, scratches on the lock, and a paint drip. Circa 1914 DESCRIPTION: A World War I era steamer trunk manufactured by a company that is considered to be the German Louis Vuitton when it comes to quality of workmanship. Moritz Madler Co. of Leipzig. Germany was the largest trunk maker in Germany and patented this trunk style with the narrow wood slats and canvas covered wood body. 39" x 22" x 18. Has the owner's initials, H.B.G. printed on the top. Exterior is varnished canvas with a great patina. Interior is white canvas, all intact. Four canvas straps have MADLER embroidered on them. Corners have brackets for an interior shelf(not present) CONDITION: Please see photographs. I actually salvaged this one last week from the side of the road. It had been rained on the night before. So there is some water staining of the interior ... morecanvas, and it has a slightly musty smell that has improved as it's aired out. It's completely dry now. Overall in sturdy shape, r etaining original varnished and painted surface. Framed with original bentwood supports. One leather handle is missing, the other is broken. Slight warp to front and a couple of tears to canvas that don't really take away from the appearance. Looks like someone tried to break into it at some point; the locks are not functional, but may be restorable. Looks like someone must have put on an additional lock(it doesn't show up on the original ads) and that's missing the bottom latch(I would just remove it, but that's up to the winning bidder. Vintage Hartmann Tourobe Slim Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Striped Suitcase C1920
This is a fantastic vintage antique skinny half wardrobe trunk made by Hartmann. I believe it dates to the 1920's-30s. The truck can be unmatched to form two separate sections. It still has it's two keys and is in very good to excellent condition for it's age and use. All the leather is still good and the inside is excellent. The outside has some usual scuffs and scratches. We found some cute vintage soaps and a sexy vintage advertising notebook with a pin up illustration on the cover in the trunk so I will include them in the sale since they've been together for so many years. This trunk had one owner. I got it out of an attic where it had been for at least 50 years. Local pickups are welcome and if the shipping looks crazy it is probably wrong. Vintage Steamer Trunk in very good condition. The photos should tell the story for the most part but worth pointing out that this is a clean example. The hardware. Canvas and insides are in very good shape. The middle latch in the front is missing the clamp part. Inside is clean- no water stains, mold, significant tears, etc. Hinged lid, brass latches. The interior tray is missing and one strap is not attached. The interior is covered in a brown plaid material(I think it is cloth) The exterior is covered in what looks like canvas, but I am no expert. I could not find any signatures on it, but I really don't know where to look. The bidders on this know more than I do, so make an offer.
