Vintage Mexican/Indian? leather necklace chest plate or whatever you call this. Been trying to find something like this online for days now, what is it used for neck or waist? Not sure who made it, Mexicans or American Indians, has a little of that musty leather smell, not overwhelming though. This is a really nice and unique item. I purchased it many years from a surplus store that got a large amount of Vietnam field gear from a family cleaning out a relative's home. Most of the stuff was average items(canteens and such) but I also got a minty set of ERDL fatigues with no insignia. This chest pouch consists ... moreof 4 separate M-14 magazine pouches that have been hand stitched together with heavy thread. There is an OD elastic band connecting them together and a set of M-1956 H-harness suspenders attached that are dated 1964. This set is all too well put together and was cheap enough to not be a fantasy piece. Being set up for an M-14 I am thinking a Marine Recon or even Navy SEAL used item. But that is all an educated guess. The set has even wear and displays well. Some of the pouches still have ink stamps inside(one appears to be dated 1967) and the snaps all work well. MINT VINTAGE 1975 COLEMAN METAL SNOW LITE COOLER ICE CHEST W/ ORIGINAL BOX 5252
Up for bid is a 1975 Coleman Snow Lite cooler in mint condition. It is the 5252-700 Green model. This cooler is immaculate! It measures 18 1/2" wide. 13 1/2" high, and 11" deep. The only small flaws I can find are a little rub to the paint on the far left corner of the top of the cooler. There might be a few tiny flea bites to the paint here and there but they are tiny. The other flaw is that the bottom is lightly soiled with a greyish dirt. This probably comes off with a little Simple Green. The box is old and brittle. Nice Graphics! I think the old couple that had this in the back of a closet in their garage probably used it once or twice. No smells, cracks, dings, scratches, etc. or other damage to this cooler other than what was mentioned. I will let the pictures tell a better story as to the condition of this cooler. It presents the story of the History of Red Cedar from the time of Solomon's Temple to the Egyptians, Roman's and on to North Carolina and the beginning of Cedar Chests in Colonial Days. The last few pages then go over why Piedmont Red Cedar Chests are the best and how they would be a perfect gift. On the inside 1st page it has the copyright date of 1913. This is a nice size wooden box- inside the cloth lined box it has a satin ribbon with"Mione" Chest. The cloth lining is slightly padded. The box has a brass plate on the lid. 2 brass plates on the front attached with copper tacks. The back hinges are attached with small copper tacks. All of the copper pieces may just be copper toned not true copper. I have no way to check them for sure but they do look original to the piece. This box is aprox 10 1/2"x 6" x4" The box is as found. Vintage Belber Trunk Chest Wardrobe Travel Gotta See - Really Awesome!!
The previous owner of this trunk would have been 105 this year) It is a really cool looking trunk with the 5 drawers. The old hangars, the briefcase like drawer that slides in under the clothes, and what looks to be an ironing board that has paper covering it(we did not take it out- we left it undisturbed) We do not have keys, the big lock on the front was popped but looks to be okay. There is a sticker or two that say Belber(which is how we knew that much about it) We believe this is all original and it is in pretty good shape- it does have marks and wear due to use and age but it seems to be a very solid piece and would be awesome restored. Up for bid is this classic old"Drink Coca Cola In Bottles" aluminum cooler manufactured by Progess Refridgerator Co. Louisville. Kentucky. It has some scratches and some light stains that could probably be removed with a little elbow grease. I'll leave that up to you though as I'm selling it as I purchased it. Also, some of the red paint has worn off of the embossed lettering. I found a site online that sells authentic Coca Cola red paint, so that could be taken care of pretty easily too should you so choose. There is some tarnishing on the brass colored handles too.
