It has 8 drawers and all are slightly different sizes. It really is a beautiful highend piece of furniture. I have 2 but the other which matches exactly was mishandled by the movers and needs a little tlc not refinished but touch up is needed. Offered is this attractive vintage Queen Anne style"Cavalier" cedar chest. Built by the Tennessee Furniture Company in Chattanooga. Tennessee. The Tennessee Furniture Company was founded in 1865 but didn't begin using the"Cavalier" trademark until 1923. I believe the company went out of business in the late 1950s-early 1960s. Making this chest at least 50 years old and possibly as much as 90 years old. The chest is 45" wide. 32" high and 19" deep. The inside dimensions of the storage area. Made from Tennessee red cedar. Are approx. 41 1/2" wide, 14 1/4" high and 16 1/2" deep. All of the front"drawers" are false. I think all of the hardware is original. The cedar interior of the piece is like new. But there are some problems with the veneered exterior: The"foot" of one ... moreof the front legs is damaged. Both ends of the fan emblem are missing. The table was made by their Altavista, Va factory and is stamped as such inside the drawers. The chest features beautiful wood grain exterior with burled wood on the face of the drawers. The top of the chest is Chinese pagoda style with upturned edges. Ornate brass hardware is prevalent with unique, lotus blossoms featured on the side handles. There are 2 drawers; the upper drawer smaller in depth than the lower drawer. Ornate brass pulls open the drawers and accent the front face of the chest. The drawers feature dovetail construction. We are pleased to offer this antique dome top trunk which dates to the late 19th century and may either be German or American made. No markings. It measures approx 25 1/2 x 14 1/2 x 17 1/2(LWH) and is in good antique condition. Made of wood and metal with small metal wheels/casters on bottom. Original drawer insert(needs repair) Original handles/straps are not present. There is a nice cast iron trunk pull handle and ornate cast brass plates with bail handles as well. A few nice square craftsman bungalow style handles in the lot too that are solid cast brass. This auction is for a vintage Lane Miniature Cedar Chest. This is one of the ones that were presented to graduating High School seniors. The inscription inside the lid says it was presented by Wolf Furniture Co of Clearfield. PENNA. The ends have a few marks where it looks like something was spilled and damaged the finish. The overall finish has some surface marks and signs of use and wear. Hinges are solid and well attached. The lock still works, but it does not have a key. I was able to lock and unlock it with a paper clip fashioned in the shape of a key. See pictures for more detail, they are a part of the description. Items are sold AS-IS. This nice tool chest was obviously hand made to hold an individual's personal tools. The chest is hinged with no latch and there are nice handles at either end. The lid is held perpendicular by a chain when it is opened. The chest measures 26" L x 11.5" W x 10"T. The toolbox is divided into several different compartments inside. The main compartment measures 21 3/4" L x 7 1/8" W x 7"D. With 1.5" of headroom beneath the lid. Two wide compartments along the back measure 8 1/2" L x 2 1/4" W x 7" T and 9 3/8" L x 2 1/4" W x 7" T. A third compartment in the back is divided into two areas that measure 3" L x 3/4" W x 7" T. Vintage Trunk Antique Humpback Steamer Storage Wardrobe Chest Reptile Texture
Up for sale is this vintage or antique early 20th century humpback trunk. The front. Back and top have metal panels with a reptile skin texture. The side metal panels are smooth with a blue tint. The humpback top has wood banding. There is metal banding on the edges. It has metal one directional wheels on the bottom. There is extensive patina on the metal and wear on the wood finish. Part of the metal lid strip is missing on the front corner, and the leather handles are missing. It has 2 broken hinges and the inside shows use wear as in soiling, filth, staining. The lid on the insert is detached but is included with the trunk. It has a strong smell of moth balls. The lock does not latch and we do not have the key. However, the other 2 latches do function. This trunk measures approximately 30 inches long by 16 1/2 inches wide and 20 inches ... moretall. This trunk is being offered"as is" with no warranties and no returns.
