You're bidding on a wonderful antique 1800's steamer leather dome top trunk! It has nice ornate design. the solid heavy front lock is marked Lamontagne Limited Montreal. It has a great inside compartment. It just been found in an attic and original finish. It's heavy and solid. It needs some repairs to some leather parts. One wheel is missing on bottom and one metal part on side. They put a piece of wood inside. It's 35" long by 23" high and 20" deep. It weights about 55 lbs. It has a super look! Good luck! 0)

Antique Steamer Trunk with Embossed Metal accents
Wonderful antique steamer trunk from family estate. Was my great-aunt's piece. In very good condition for it's age(late 1800's) This trunk measures 30" W x 15 1/2" D x 19 1/2" H. Bent wooden handles are in great condition and solid. Wood slats have a nice rich patina and metal is embossed with shell pattern and shows no rust. Original rollers on bottom, but at some point, additional rollers added. Trunk sits firmly on these rollers. Interior is in great condition with some peeling wallpaper. Top storage compartment lifts out. Will ship Greyhound bus for approximately $75 or do local pick up. Feel free to ask questions.

Georg Schalk Antique Steamer Trunk Oak Banded Double Lock German Reiseartikel
This is a great piece. It is a German antique steamer trunk I believe to be from about 1890-1910. This is a rare style of trunk. Double locked and oak banded(made with half round oak banding instead of flat wood bands) The exterior canvas is mostly intact with some nicks and tears from use. The color of the exterior varies a bit from darker to lighter brown. There are remnants of some old old labels on the outside of the trunk as well. All original locks. Hardware, etc. The interior lining is mostly there. But with some tears. The leather handles are still on, but one is broken and the other is very worn and would probably break if used. Overall it's in pretty good condition for the age. And it is awesome! Measurements: 18 inches tall. A Ladycomet Refinished Dome Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/Straps, Key & Tray
Fabulous Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles. Working Lock With Key and Interior Tray This beautiful trunk sure has taken on quite a transformation from the time that we have purchased it. It was very rustic and in dire need of help. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 30 inches. From floor to top is approximately 25 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 19 inches. This lovely dome top top should date back to the mid to late 1800's and it appears to be made up of pine and poplar base wood with oak outer slat boards. We have finished the wood with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood has a nice reddish brown color to it. There are some typical older distress marks on the wooden surfaces. These markings include older nicks and dings along with some slight ... moreareas of discoloration. The majority of the trunks that we refinish have similar distress marks. This one comes with the original working lock. We have found a key that does activate the lock mechanism. The metal parts that make up this nice trunk are not brass and have therefore been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. This one was missing the front latches, so we have run a pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top. Instead of having the metal latches, you can use the straps to secure the trunk's top to it's base when buckled in addition to the working lock. As far as repairs go, there were two pieces of hardware missing where the outer slat boards meet. So we have replaced these with some home made pieces that look somewhat similar. There was also a section of an outer slat board missing, and we replaced it with a piece of slat board from a parts trunk. Unusual Vintage Antique Clinton Steamer Wall Trunk
Unusual Clinton"Wall" trunk manufactured in Clinton. MA about 1900 give or take 10 years. A wall trunk is hinged so that you don't have to pull it away from the wall when you open the lid. Very good antique shape. Tin has two-toned raised grapevine pattern. Brass key shield. Cast iron hinges are stamped with manufacturer's name etc. Trunk has original tray fitted for the wall design with a huge maker's label still intact. Refinished antique wooden steamer trunk circa late 1890’s. Early 1900’s with original hardware. This has a wonderful flat top surface, perfect use for a table or at the bottom of a bed. Plus it is nice and roomy, excellent for extra storage. The inside has been stripped of the original paper. Brass colored hardware and front lock, no key. Original handles in tact, which is rare as most broke off over time. The wood has been finished in a nice warm medium pine color with a not to shiny, not to dull, just right finish. The metal hardware has not been repainted, only cleaned. I like to leave the hardware in its found state. Rear hinges are in working order and original inside hardware holds lid up perfectly. There is a stress crack on the top, normal for antiques trunks as they were packed and then stacked for traveling. The bottom shows some ... morewear. I am listing a Beautiful Refinished Antique Dome Top Civil War Era Trunk. This trunk is probably from the mid 1870's period. As some of the hardware is marked 1872. T he trunk's dimensions are from left to right across the front- 26 inches. From floor to top is approximately 19 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 15 inches. I have removed all of the original paper that covered this trunk, inside and out. The trunk is made entirely up of pine wood. The wood has been finished with three coats of clear lacquer. The wood is in great shape with a couple of stress cracks in various places which are quite common on trunks this old. This one comes with the original tray. The front latches are also original and do work. The side handles are really unique and quite rare to see anymore. They are made of wood and are usually broke. These ... morere in excellent shape. Going to the interior, I have finished the interior wood with two coats of clear lacquer. The interior is in pretty good condition considering how old this trunk is. The exterior bottom underneath the trunk has normal wear. It also has the four factory original rollers and slats. As you can see from the photos to the left and above. It is lined with a floral patterned paper and has a beautiful lithograph containing dogwood tree blossoms, a child in victorian dress and two children that appear to be Eskimo/Inuit with a dog. One of the children is riding in a sled with the other standing behind probably on the runners. As you can see. This tray is in pretty rough shape. However the art was so beautiful we had to rescue it and hope someone can use it! This tray measures 27 3/4" x 13 1/4" on the very bottom. This is the very early hand woven linen monogram canvas which was produced from 1896-1904. The serial number 106906 should put it around 1899. The top opens on one side to access the hangers. And the hangers also slide out on telescoping metal rods, as shown in the photo. The drawers include 1 hat box. 1 folded box and 2 small drawers The original lock is intact. But I do not have the key. Has all the original wooden hangers. Measuring 24ins( 61 cms) high x 24ins(61cms) wide x 18ins(4 6 cms) deep. It is a traditionally constructed'sailor's' chest with a pine body, having part iron banding and corner protectors with brass studded wooden batons. There is an old iron handle at both ends and a central clasp and lock. Internally it is still lined with the original paper lining and has a removable half height divider in the middle. This chap has been around since before the Boer War and! Originally it was canvas covered. This has now been removed and the underlying pine has been prepared and waxed, as have the batons and brass studs. There ... moreare.Of course, a myriad of very characteful nicks, dinks and scars. Dents, scratches and so on over most of the piece and some of the metal work is missing and/or battered with remanants of paintwork on it, but its all characterful! There is a repaired.And now solid, small hole at the back by the right hand side hinge, the screws in the hinges are replacement ones, there are one or two woodworm holes from some long since deceased worms and there is no key for the lock. Also the internal paper is tatty, scuffed and torn and badly stained, but still dry and perfectly usable. For as accurate a representation/description as possible. Antique trunk flat top steamer with all original parts except handles and endcaps with original wood tray. This trunk has been recently refinished and is in mint condition. It has been stripped. Cleaned stained and has 2 coats of laquer. The wood is slick and smooth, you will not find many trunks with as smooth finish as this trunk. Physically it is in good condition but obviously it has been used through the years. Measurements, left to right =L 30 1/2" front to back=D 18 5/8"from bottom(floor) to top of trunk=H 21" Tray measures L 28 1/2, D 16 5/8, H 5 1/8. This trunk weighs 39.6 pounds. The leather handles do measure 2" on each side but they can be pressed down so not to take as much room.

Brand- LOUIS VUITTON 100% Authentic Style- RAYEE Steamer Trunk(Rayee is French For Stripe) Country of Origin- FRANCE Date Range- Louis Vuitton started using the striped canvas in 1872 until 1888 and considering the Low Serial# I would say it was made in the early 1870's Historic Serial Number- Amazing Very Early# 6379 as seen on the Original Sticker which was Never removed for any reason. Note: In January 2013 a striped trunk very similar to this one(but in better original condition. Sold in the UK for $58 K, w/ serial#13502 Interior has been Stripped of the original Canvas interior Although Some Remnants Remain. Including a swatch of the exterior Stripe canvas used for the outside, And Most if not all of the"Tacks" used for the tufting in the lid are still present. The interior would be very easy to restore, but I decided not ... moreto alter or add to it. The flat inside slide hinges are original w/ no issues. There is no moisture damage or odors present. Exterior- Wood/ Black Leather Trim/ Brass Hardware.I believe this was a Higher end model at the time as the hardware is All Brass vs. Iron and it was trimmed in Leather. Obviously the Original Rayee striped canvas has bee removed. However nothing was removed in order to do so, as you can still see canvas remnants under the slats and around hardware. A light coat of lacquer was applied to bring out the beauty of and to protect the wood. I would not think this would be a negative issue if it were to be restore to the original look, as the canvas would cover most of the wood and steel wool could gently remove the rest. Or otherwise it is a Beautiful show piece as it sits or a wonderful candidate for restoration Condition- This Trunk is Structurally Solid and I believe all of the hardware is original. While the only thing I do not know for sure is the corner guards. As early as this was made they may have used these for a short time. They are however old and look completely appropriate. This trunk was produced somewhere between 1888-1896(the time frame of the Damier pattern) The Damier patterned trunks are some of the rarest and most desirable of all the antique Louis Vuitton trunks! A majority of the canvas has been removed but the remaining canvas(on the inside areas of the lid) appears to be the more rare RED& WHITE on brown color combination as opposed to the light brown and dark brown patterns. The serial number on the lock reads 03845. The wood of the trunk is structurally sound and the clasps. Lock mechanism, and handles all seem to be in good shape.
