Unlike any other Pitcher I have personally seen. The Pitcher is in excellent all original condition with a couple small flakes but no large chips and no cracks or repairs of any kind. There is a Straw Mark near the handle, this is not a crack and not damage. VINTAGE GREEN GLASS VINEGAR JUG WITH STOPPER - 2 SEAMS, BUBBLES & UNEVEN BOTTOM
Up for auction is a very old green glass oil/vinegar jug with the original glass stopper. The jug and the stopper both have 2 seams. And there are bubbles in both. The bottom of the jug has much more glass on one side(hopefully my photos show this) The spout has no seams, and was perhaps hand blown. The opening for the fluid to come out is very tiny. It measures 6" tall, and is about 4" wide at the widest area in the middle. This item is in perfect condition. And other than a little cleaning, is ready to be used now. I believe this jug belonged to the mother of the woman I mention below. As with all of my other collectible items. This belongs to the woman in the last photo, who is now 99 years old, and has just entered an assisted living facility. She was a nurse for her working life in Canada, and England. No cracks, beautiful handle and neck, heavy and sturdy. There is one tiny mark on the top. Which is not sharp so it may be a chip or it may have been there since it's creation. It has some light scuff marks on the bottom, but that is to be expected. There is some shadowing on the inside which may be cleaned; little specks of something here and there but nothing major. Up for sale is this antique pair of stunning silver mounted ewers. The pitcher is a frosted glass with waves and is a hand painted heavy enamel floral pattern with gold stems. The foot. Handle and spout are an elaborate silver design that is hallmarked on the handle VRS. On the front of the silver neck there is a bearded man. I have not been able to figure out exactly what this is. Jar. Jug, pitcher? I just know it is quite unusual. In all my prevalent antiquing I have not seen another like this. Perhaps the spout is to prevent ice from going into a cup? It has very thick glass and a spout that looks sawed off but was definitely made to be that way. I t is heavy for its size: 5.75 inches tall. 3 inches wide on bottom. And 5.5 inches wide between spout and handle. There are markings on the bottom of the jug: a"W" with a# 11" underneath it(see photo) The condition is perfect; no cracks. Chips, marks- nothing. Very interesting to look at from all angles. Probably between 1910 and 1931. This is about the best I can get of the mark on the bottom. The bottom has wrinkles on the side and both the triangle and the number appear to be from a worn mold. During 1898, the firm became the Modes-Turner Glass Company. The Terre Haute Commercial Cub enticed the company to come there and take over the plant of the short lived Hays Glass Company. The operation started in a small way in 1901, but a preferred stock offering in 1902 was made to expand the Terre Haute plant at 25th& Locust Streets. The capacity at Terre Haute nearly tripled and the plant in Cicero was closed that year. The Cicero plant was reopened in the Fall of 1902 as the Indiana Bottle& Glass Company and operated until 1908, when it burned to the ground. Moonshine Still / Mountain Painting on Old Glass Jug
This is just an old jug my stepdad gave me. He's in his 80's so I have no idea how old the glass actually is the only writing I've found are the words Duraglas on the bottom front. I decided to paint a mountain scene since we live in the Great Smoky Mountains and we also live in Cocke County, TN which is where Popcorn Sutton is from. I have a nice little cabin with the stove pipe coming out the roof with a nice little still operation out beside the house. On the other side of the house we have a nice creek coming off the mountain. On the back I have the infamous XXX along with Cocke County Tennessee written at the bottom. The Rieti New England pottery company. Boston Massachusetts. Jug has a deep blue under glaze with gold trim and decorative design. Some of the flowers have extra white paint, some of which has come off. Has the none Rieti on the bottom contained in a shell design, which dates the jug from 1888 to 1889. Antique Nouveau Silver plated Glass Pitcher Jug Decanter
Up for auction is this lovely Art Nouveau Jug or Decanter. The item is old and has been used. It is in perfect working order. But would not be suitable for hot liquids. The glass has been blown very fine. The glass is in perfect condition. The silver plated handle. Collar, and lid are in good condition with no dents or cracks but the plating has lost it's shine. No other problems. Measures 22.5cm high and 13cm wide. I will post worldwide. I will be away from 4th February to 7th February. But will answer questions as soon as I return. An antique small clear glass jug. Stands 7 inches tall and is 10 inches in diameter. There is no writing on it. There is a"O" in a square on the bottom. It is alittle dirty. It was excavated. There will be breaks to the weave.however those that still display well are Highly sought after by Designers and collectors alike. It was VERY dirty when we acquired it. I carefully ... morecleaned it up as best I could over the coarse of several weeks. I've given the exposed areas of the bottle a very delicate"once over" clean to remove a lot of loose dirt. The result is pretty darn clear considering the age of this piece. I only gave the interior bottle a good rinsing because the weave is so delicate I didn't want to disturb it any more than I had to. The bottom weave is LONG gone. I actually like the ones like this even with the breaks because it makes it a more interesting visual piece. The interior bottle is clear in color and PERFECTLY intact. It Displays Beautifully! Nice at 13 1/2" Tall. 8" Wide& 27" AROUND the Belly! These have become EXTREMELY Popular in the Interior Design Market with designers using them to grace everything from kitchen countertops to fireplace mantels.
