One bottle seems to have original stopper. The rest are missing their toppers. The castor unit is made of silver electroplated metal. The handle seems to be missing its electroplating probably from use. Size: The entire set stands 14 inches tall 6 1/2 inches in diameter. The cruet bottle with stopper is 7" tall Castor sets were popular from the 1890s to the first world war. And were used in the center of every dining table. Condition: Very good pre-owned item. Silverplate has worn on handles and in other places on the piece. 4 bottles on missing their toppers. Every bo ttle has a different pattern. So they may not all be original t o the castor set. But from the same era- do not know. This is a rare find and can be a great piece to add to your collection. I am not an antique dealer so if you have any questions at all. It is 82" long and ... more39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. Antique English Silver and Crystal Claret Jug from Victorian Era
Antique Claret Jug or Wine Decanter hallmarks seem to indicate this item was produced in London by; Horace Woodward& Co. Edgar Finley& Hugh Taylor in the mid 1880's This piece is tarnished and needs cleaning otherwise it is in good condition. I can't tell if this is silver plated and the plating is worn through on the inside of the spout or if it was gold leafed in the inside of the spout and that has worn off. Th e E.F. over H.T. in a shiel d is Edgar Finley& Hugh Taylor Hallmark entered in 1883. The capitol N in shield indicates a London date mark from 1888. The Duty mark appears to be Victoria facing left which was used un til 1890. The Lion passant guardant in shield indicates the silvers quality. I am unsure of weather this is plate or sterling and will tr y to have the piece evaluated. Graciously hand painted with floral and leaves with branches in vibrant enamels. The stopper has a cut diamond facet pattern with the end of the stopper having a few chips for years of use. Very minor. Handle is well secure and has a pressed reeded pattern. The rim is crimped with a small spout and there is a pontil on the low footed base. Not marked. And is of Moser quality. No fading in the floral decor. Cruet jug has No chips. Hairline breaks. Only flaw which can only be seen on the cruet when flip over, is the inside has light water marks on the very bottom of the cruet. M easurements: ... more8-1/4" tall complete. Cruet is 6-3/4" tall with a 1" diameter rim and the base is 2-1/2" diameters. We have a Lemonade Pitcher in the same colour stain on the glass. But with differend hand painted florals in our store. Here is a very nice antique Early American pattern glass cruet jug. It is mold blown and has a pontil mark on the bottom. I have not been able to figure out the pattern name but it has a fan and diamond pattern and has matching pattern stopper. It stands about 7 1/4" in total height. Overall it looks to be in really nice condition with just some typical roughness in the opening where the stopper goes and a tiny chip near the top of stopper on one of the ribs. You are viewing a wonderful antique deep cranberry glass lemonade or water pitcher. From the style and the way it was made. I would estimate it was made some time in the second half of the 19th century in the reign of Queen Victoria. I believe it is an English jug, although it may also be American in origin. It is entirely hand-made, blown glass. The style is almost Aesthetic Movement and the shape reminds me of a Dr. Christopher Dresser design. This lovely jug stands approximately 19 centimeters tall. The pontil mark on the underside has been ground and polished leaving a nice recessed area. The jug is in good condition with no cracks or chips. Condition is very good. No cracks chips or repairs. One small production bubble in the underside and also what appears to be a straw mark also on the underside. Some rub to the top edges of the silver gilt detail on the tops of the creamer. Sugar and caddy. We see very little rubbing to the posy decoration. Beautiful.
