Each shaker measures 4" high and ... moreabout 2" in diameter at the widest part. The lids have a couple of very small dents. The salt lid looks like someone couldn't open it, and used some sort of tool to grip the lid, causing little dents on opposite sides of the lid, just above the threads. The salt shaker also has a couple of very tiny flakes at the edge of the base, and the pepper shaker has a little bump just above the bottom, which occurred in the molding of the glass. These shakers were molded, then cut, and there are several very tiny imperfections in the making, which can be seen with close examination using a magnifying glass. 19th Century Hand Cut Glass Cream Jug
There is a very unusual pattern to the cutting of this jug. It has vertical cuts that go from the bottom to about a third of the way up. Followed by horizontal cuts, and then the central part is cut in diamond shapes with multi-small diamond cuts in each center in the larger diamonds. On top of this band is another band of linear deep cuts that extend right under the spout to the central mid-diamond motif band. The rim has also been hand-cut. With multiple cuttings to increase its decorative value. The handle itself. Which was hand-applied, has been cut not only on the base of the handle, but also the cutting extends to the top as well. Here is a pretty vintage or antique cut glass cruet jug. It has a honeycomb or Georgian type pattern. The neck has cut panels with notched ridges. The spout is fluted and the stopper has a cut facet pattern. The bottom has been cut flat and ground and has a cut star pattern. Thee is some tiny chipping at the base of the stopper and some roughness at the very top point. There is a tiny nick on the outer edge of one of the side spouts. Here we have an exceptionally nice. 1880's era ~ CUT GLASS& REPOUSSE SILVERPLATE WINE CLARET JUG ~. It is absolutely beautiful, fine quality cut glass and there are no chips or cracks" which is quite amazing for being well over 100 years old" The lid and spout is exceptionally fancy as well. The hinge on the lid is going to need a little repair. The one loop is broken and will need one soldered one to secure the lid. The bottom portion of the hinge is in good condition with no damage. Here is a pretty antique American brilliant period cut glass carafe in the Cypress pattern from Hawkes as is marked near the base. It stands about 7 1/2" tall an about 5 3/4" wide. There is a couple chips on the cuts as shown and a tiny bit of every so slight roughness on the rim. The inside has some residue. But since I can see attempts to clean with something it looks like the inside should be mostly cleanable and most of it is not the cloudiness due to permanent discoloration of the glass, although there could be some faint water discoloration when held to the light. Wonderful Victorian Etched and Cut Glass Water Jug
This beautiful water jug was brought to Canada from Shropshire in England by my great-great-grandmother in 1908. Over the years it has been treated gently and has mainly been stored in various generation's china cabinets. Aside from a few wear marks on its base. It is in excellent condition. The jug stands 8 inches high and is 6 inches across at the base and 4 inches across at the top. Its handle is just over 5.5 inches long. The etchings and cuttings on this glass are beautifully done and show elegance in their grace and restraint. The flowers appear to be cosmos. And they are artfully arranged among various graceful tendrils. The top edge is delicately scalloped all the way around, and there is a 16-point star on the base. WMF Amber Cut to Clear Wine or Lemonade Pitcher Glass Insert Egermann Style
This auction is for a beautiful wine pitcher or lemonade pitcher in an amber cut to clear with nice engraving in a grape or vintage pattern. The style is similar to Egermann but this piece is probably from WMF or Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik. We believe there is a partial mark of the simple WMF in a small rectangle. We have tried to get a picture but it is not helpful. The pitcher is wonderful measuring 11 3/4 inches tall and weighing more than 7 pounds. The glass insert is in great condition with the original bail for lifting it from the pitcher. We are not sure what is the metal content of the silver top and handle. It would appear to be a type of silverplate. The WMF made an especially fine plated metal but we cannot be sure if this is WMF. There is light wear and tarnish to the silver metal. 8 3/4'T- Antique cut glass cruet silver scenic mounts Ibis finial stopper silver marked M&P. Wonderful piece of cut glass with highly detailed silver(no mark but we believe it to be sterling) mounts featuring putti or small children doing various things at waters edge or dock. Woman holding a lobster who appears to be in the water with a man who has a fishing net, houses and a horse and probably Dutch. The stopper is clad in silver as well and has a silver Ibis finial. Looks to be Ca. 1870-80 and just an exquisite piece. Only marks I can find are: on scenic part- M&B- etched on silver on bottom- 14/77/27. Excellent condition with minor scratches and wear, a tiny, pinpoint flake on rim and a few tiny flakes on some cut edges, a small interior glass bruise on shoulder just under the handle at top where it attaches and some light ... moreinterior stain or residue- a tiny tip of one of the silver spires has broken off(it is minute but I kept it) and one of the pointy tips of another building has been bent back behind the mount and could possibly very delicately be straightened out- there are a few tiny pinpoint flakes at base of stopper and a few minute, pinpoint flakes on some cut edges of stopper. Beautiful 1894 English Cut Glass Crystal& Sterling Silver Overlay Claret Jug Presented is a wonderful cut glass crystal and sterling silver claret jug. This piece dates to 1894 and was made by John Grinsell& Sons. The body of the jug is round. With a starburst design cut into the underside. The handle, collar, spout and lid are sterling silver. The lid has a fabulously engraved overlapping monogram of MSH. This piece is in great condition. The glass has no chips. No cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The silver has no dents, no splits, no monogram removals, and no repairs. This piece is hallmarked on the side of the neck with the lion passant for sterling silver. The leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter T for 1894, and the maker's ... moremark for John Grinsell& Sons. The interior rim of the lid is also stamped with the lion passant for sterling silver, the date letter T for 1894, and the maker's mark for John Grinsell& Sons. The total weight is 715 grams.
