Meridan& Co silver plated syrup jug with Goddess Isis finial-statue of freedom Welcome to Longs Antiques WE WILL BE SELLING QUITE A FEW FRESH ESTATE ... moreITEMS WITH NO RESERVE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. Though. Some of the items will have VERY modest starting prices. When we choose a starting price we usually do so at a fraction of what other simalar items have sold for. So.after looking at this item be sure to look at the rest of the great things that we recieved out of local Naples estates this week. THANK YOU Fresh from a local home here Naples comes this wonderful old antique silver plated syrup pitcher by Meridan Co. It's really unique in that it has what looks to be the goddess Isis finial on top. The goddess Isis adorns the capital building in Wash. D.C and stands for the statue of freedom from what I gather. I'm not a history buff but I do find that rather interesting. The goddess Isis I thought had super powers in Egypt back in the day. In any case.Meridan looks like took it upon themselves back in the late 1900s to make themselves a freedom jug/pitcher. It stands 8" tall and is roughly 4" dia at the widest part. Very good con. Has the letter M etched on the front. Slight tarnish. WE ALSO COMBINE SHIPPING FOR MULTIPLE PURCHASES SO BEFORE CHECKOUT JUST CHECK WITH ME AND WE WILL DO THE BEST WE CAN ON PRICE. PLEASE READ! rare blue lustre covered syrup jug/pitcher,Royal Rochester Stamping Co
What a great late 19th century American lustre jug. Completely intact, right down to the spring in the cap. The identification on the underside is Royal-Rochester, from the Royal-Rochester Stamping Co. Syrup and cream jugs from the 19th century were a prized and necessary kitchen item. We find the lids particularly charming with no further thought as to the necessity of a lid. Life in rustic Europe or America was a fly-riddled as any African documentary. 20 years ago. I visited friends at their 2nd home, one in the Perigord region of France. Their home was fabulous, ready for a photo layout in any of the most sophisticated decor magazines, yet flies were an enormous issue. There were no screens and that wonderful romantic blending of the indoor and outdoor living areas meant that flies were EVERYwhere. Waking to the distant lowing of cattle ... moreand whinnying of neighbors' horses guaranteed that flies were always present in quantity. We used net and mesh coverings for the dishes at all our meals. Whether in a rural area of the largest of cities, having a lid on your syrup or cream reduced the likelihood of critters doing the backstroke and the amount of floating grit from dusty living. The most beautiful of claret jugs has a beautifully shaped hinged lid for the same purpose. Today. I am listing a number of syrup jugs from a Connecticut collection. The folks brought them here to West Texas, waited to see which collections their new home could display, and are turning loose of things that just can not fit. This is your lucky day. Whatever the shipping calculator says, you will not be charged more. You may very well get a little credit through your paypal account after I see what the actual cost is. For each additional pitcher, there will be only an additional $2 for shipping. If you purchase 4, the shipping will be free. This is of course information for my domestic shoppers. When it comes to international shipping, well, we just have to weigh'em up and check the chart, but first sit down and hang on tight. Jus

1930-1942 ff TRADEMARK Hand-painted Cherry Soda Syrup Glass Jug FOSTER FORBES
This is a really nice vintage jug Very neat trademark. It took me a little time to figure this one out. The Foster Forbes Glass Company's history begins in 1842 in Stoddard. New Hampshire. Many acquisitions and mergers later with names like Ball, Saint-Gobain, and now Verallia, the Foster Forbes has 160 years in the Glass business. Hand painted by a debuting popular artist. Highly collectible and to be one of a many from Vintage Recycled Art©. This jug was for cherry soda or syrup. FF applied for patent on on a similar item. They first used the style in 1930 and filed for patent 1958. I believe our bottle would have been made of course after 1930. A different style trademark was used starting 1942. Dating our glass bottle 1930-1942. 1951 at the oldest. Handpainted.

ANTIQUE SATIN GLASS HINGED LIDDED SYRUP JUG/PITCHER - VERY PRETTY!
Offering this very pretty syrup jug/pitcher in varying shades of pink displaying a beautifully multicolored embossed swirling design of flowers and leaves tinged with gold that appears hand painted. The ornate metal may be pewter. However, an attempt at buffing appears on the lid resulting in a brighter silver area. From tip of finial to base the height is approx. 6" and from spout to handle 5" Overall, it has been well preserved through the years with a minor imperfection noted, the rim of the lid has a dent, unseen when closed. Otherwise, I would guess that it has been displayed only as the interior, white in color, has no indication of use. For the collector of such antiques it's a desirable addition and I appreciate your interest.

STUNNING HAND ETCHED GERMAN SYRUP JUG DECANTER W STERLING TOP & HANDLE SIGNED
STUNNING HAND ETCHED GERMAN SYRUP JUG DECANTER W STERLING TOP& HANDLE SIGNED WELCOME. What an incredible piece this is and I cant even begin to guess its age. Obviously comes from a very stately home. This probably hand blown and hand etched jug or decanter is exquisitely hand etched with baskets of flowers on both sides of the piece. It has a beautiful decorative lid. Top and handle, all of which appear to be sterling. It is marked Germany and Sterling. I think it was probably used for syrup. The top of the bottle has been carefully cut away to accomodate the pouring section of the silver top. The workmanship on this piece is amazing as you can no doubt see in the pics provided. It stands just under 6 1/2" tall. That includes the top finial of the lid. The base measures just under 5 1/2" length wise and 3 1/4" deep. There ... moreis a modest reserve on this piece. There is a streak of white running down from the top inside of the bottle. And I think this must come from the material that was used to keep the top in place. I have not tried to wash it out and neither have I cleaned the silver. I would image it will be quite dazzling once its cleaned up. Buyer to pay shipping costs. Thanks for visiting us today.
