Vtg United Vintners Inc Clear Glass Gallon Jug w/screw top- Refilling Prohibited
Up for auction is this vintage clear glass 1 gallon jug. Near the base. It has One Gallon embossed in each quarter. On the bottom, it reads, United Vintner's Inc. 5259, 68, 6, C, and the makers mark. Beneath that, it says Refilling Prohibited. Its in quite nice shape; a few scratches here and there but no chips, cracks, nicks, not even a flea bite on the rim. This could be used for so many things: fresh water storage; build a ship in a bottle; sun tea making; a terrarium; put clear lights in it and hang it in your seating area at night; paint it pink, add 4 legs, ears, eyes, and a squiggly tail; fill it with spare change, etc. It would be especially handy in the Spring when the maple sap is boiled down into syrup. A nice solid jug with so many uses!

Hand blown 5 gallon Glass Jug with original wooden crate. Stunning! Beautiful decor item. This piece has been in my family since at least the late 1800's. Was my great great grandfathers and according to the family story they used it for wine. Still has it's original wooden crate that has a very rare hand made spring system that keeps the jug extra snug. Has original cork that I will not attempt to pull out. This is hand blown& has some air bubbles. The jug has no markings at all. I have not been able to locate another one like this on the Internet. Very very rare piece! Italian winemakers fill these with wine. Cork the tops and tie them to the tops of their cars. We saw this in the Tuscan countryside in the 1980's. This is a beautiful old piece we hate to part with but we are downsizing big time.The 4th to last picture shows a shield-shaped imperfection I thought was glue residue from a sticker but it is an imperfection on the INSIDE of the jug; the outside is smooth. Vtg Lot of 3 Clear Glass Gallon Jug w/screw tops
Up for auction is this lot of 3 vintage used clear glass gallon jugs. The lot has One Gallon embossed around the top of the fullest section on both sides. On the bottom. It reads, the numbers and marks. The lot is in nice shape; a few scratches here and there but no chips. Cracks, nicks, not even a flea bite on the rim. This could be used for so many things: fresh water storage; build a ship in a bottle; sun tea making; a terrarium; put clear lights in it and hang it in your seating area at night; paint it pink, add 4 legs, ears, eyes, and a squiggly tail; fill it with spare change, etc. It would be especially handy in the Spring when the maple sap is boiled down into syrup. Wonderful piece of cut glass with highly detailed silver(no mark but we believe it to be sterling) mounts featuring putti or small children doing various things at waters edge or dock. Woman holding a lobster who appears to be in the water with a man who has a fishing net, houses and a horse. The stopper is clad in silver as well and has a silver Ibis finial. Looks to be Ca. 1870-80 and just an exquisite piece. Only marks I can find are: on scenic part- M&B- etched on silver on bottom- 14/77/27. Excellent condition with minor scratches and wear, a tiny, pinpoint flake on rim and a few tiny flakes on some cut edges, a small interior glass bruise on shoulder just under the handle at top where it attaches and some light interior stain or ... moreresidue- a tiny tip of one of the silver spires has broken off(it is minute but I kept it) and one of the pointy tips of another building has been bent back behind the mount and could possibly very delicately be straightened out- there are a few tiny pinpoint flakes at base of stopper and a few minute, pinpoint flakes on some cut edges of stopper. This is a very Elegant& Genuine piece of late Victorian Enameled Glass. Made into a Claret Jug. The top is a flared shape, which incorporates the'Pourer' + the Original Glass Stopper is a'Swirl' shape. There is a Pontil mark on the bottom[showing it is Hand Made] The Scroll designed Enameling + Dot's is White on the Deep Green coloured Glass. The size is approx 16.50cm@ the highest point[ 22cm high including the Stopper when in]the diameter@ the base is approx 7cm. I bought this in England many years ago. This could be used as an umbrella stand or to hold dried flowers such as elephant grass. Please be sure to see the other art glass we have listed. FEATURES: Completely hand-blown with molded curved handle. It has a wide mouth opening of 3-1/2" When the piece was blown. The neck and shoulders are made of thicker glass with a deeper brown color. As the walls were blown, the glass was drawn much thinner and has a yellowish hue. It thickens up on the bottom and is a dark brown almost opaque color. There is a pontile mark on the bottom and a turned up molded"tail" on the handle. There are even a few bonus bubbles in the glass in various ... moreplaces. ADD. The silver lid and spout are marked in two areas and bears the Austria Hungary Silver hallmark the Dianakopf or Diana's head which was first used in 1867. Beginning in 1872, a letter was added to this cartouche indicating the city of assay.The cinquefoil cartouche indicates 800 silver and the letter G indicates the city of Graz in Austria. Really great antique. 1 gallon glass jug. Not a screw top, this is a cork top and has the original cork! Also. Has super cool original label which says. Painter's Thinner. Everything for the home builder. Complete line of W. P. Fuller paints and varnishes. Smith's Paint and Hardware. 2503-05 6th Ave MAin 7441"which is the phone number I believe) Etc. There is a water spot in the label which makes a small part of it unreadable. W. P. Fuller was a company in Tacoma. Washington. Bottle is in great condition. No chips or cracks whatsoever. Glass is clean, not sick or murky, rim is smooth and mint, handle is smooth and mint. Nice piece of advertising history! The cork is a little worn and stained. 1 gallon embossed on glass.

I honestly don't have a clue on this one-any help would be much appreciated. The colorless glass has a raised rib pattern. It is accented with an applied pink handle cased in clear. The jug measures 5 1/8" high. 3 3/4" across at the top and about 5" across at the widest point. The bottom has a ground and nicely polished pontil. There are no markings. It is quite heavy for its size-almost 3 pounds before packing. This piece is in very good estate condition with no damage or restoration noted. The piece measures 7 1/2 inches tall measured from the base to the top of the lid by 4 inches wide not including the handle. The lid looks to be pewter it flips open to show the spout it the body of the jug looks amazing there are no chips or cracks there are some light scratches you can only see if you look really close. This is a beautiful piece a real survivor to look so good after all these years. Antique Victorian Bohemian Art Glass Ewer Description: Bohemian glass ewer jug is blown of cased glass with applied handle. Interior is opal white. Exterior is peach- orange with silver spangle. Handle is blown of colourless crystal glass that has pinched thorns. Shape of the ewer has a round pillow shape. Low footed base has an unpolished pontil. Excellent condition. Ewer has no chips. Hairline breaks or mineral deposit. There is a black mark from when it was blown. This is not a flaw from use. Applied decoration has no damage. 6-7/8" tall. 2-1/4"diameter rim and the base is 2-7/8" diameter. Attributed to Harrach most likely from the Victorian era. Here is a very unique large twisted patternblue glass bottle that stands approx 22 inches tall. I dont know anything about the bottle except that it is weathered(as seen in the pictures) My description of the bottle is: A pattern blown glass bottle with an applied cap. There are no chips or cracks. But there are sheen marks in the glass and other marks as seen in the picures. Very heavy. The weight is approx 13 pounds Overall a very unique large bottle to add to your collection!
