Antique Early 19th C. Georgian Blown Cut Glass Double Knop Stem Dram Wine Flute
This listing is for a late 18th or early 19th Century dram drinking glass. It is blown of clear non leaded glass. And has a very slight pink tint, and tight horizontal striations. It has flute cutting on the bowl, and a double, annulated knop stem. The foot is slightly domed, and has a polished pontil. The vessel is 4.6" tall, and 2.5" across the top and foot. For sale is this set of 5 exquisite 19th century"Princess Louise" blown. Cut glass cordials by Kosta Glass Works. These glasses are in the"Empire" style which was popular in Europe during the 19th century. During this time Kosta had brought much of its talent in from Bohemia, and was criticized for mimicking other styles popular in Europe. Later Kosta began to break away from some of the other European styles. The referenced princess in the pattern name is likely Princess Louise of Sweden(1851-1926) who became the Queen of Denmark. These glasses feature extremely heavy square stems and bases with a very finely ground pontil. The bowl of each glass is very thin and fine with cut star and floral designs. These glasses also have very delicate ring which sounds with the lightest flick of the bowl portion. Here is a rare and spectacular set of four matching hand blown syllabub cups from the first quarter of the 19 th Century. They all look alike. But all are slightly different. The characteristic that joins them for certain is the band of primitive wheel engraving around the top rim. Each one is marked E.R.E. Internally, there are many small bubbles in the glass. There are no chips. We found one heat check in the rim above where the handle would have been applied on one of the cups. The slight differences between them include a height variance from 2 7/16 inches to 2 9/16 inches. There is also a very slight variation in diameter. Now, you may find two similar or even four similar syllabub cups, but to find the four, that were made and engraved together, is a rare find. Antique Pair Blown GLASS Stemware Wine & Flat Cordial w Etched/Cut "B" Monogram
Antique Pair Blown GLASS Stemware Wine& Flat Cordial w Etched/Cut"B" Monogram Up for sale is a lovely pair of antique hand blown wine stemware glass and matching flat cut bottom cordial shot glass. Both are decorated with etched and cut shields with a"B" monogram or insignia. The wine glass is 4.75" tall and a little over 2" in diameter at the lip. The photos of the photo show clues to the piece being hand made but it slight imperfections. As in photos#9 and 10 the cut bottom of the 1.75" tall cordial cup has a little fleabite nick on the edge-very minor. But otherwise these glasses are in excellent condition. I purchased these at an estate auction and am uncertain of their age or origin My guess is they are at least 19th century if not older. It's at least vintage& could be antique. But we've not seen another one exactly like it to compare it to for referencing. Hand cut 8 pointed star. In the center of a pinwheel design on front and back, is loosely rendered. Not geometrically perfect-clearly hand cut(ZOOM PHOTO) Opposite sides of glass have a simple design of 3 oblong leaf-like cuts with sprays. 6 19th Century Antique Pittsburgh Blown Cut Flint Glass Crystal Large Goblets
This listing is for a set of six large antique cut flint glass goblets. they are typical Pittsburgh type. Probably from Pittsburgh or New England circa 2nd or 3rd quarter 19th Century by Bakewell, or Sandwich, etc. They are blown in three pieces. each bowl is panel cut at the base, then has a horizontal band below unpolished"blazes" The stems are panel cut, and the underside of the feet are cut in unpolished rays. the underside of the feet are deeply hollow ground and polished to eliminate pontils. The wide hollow-grind reaches the inner edge of the rays. Swirled bubbles are visible at the stem connection from beneath. The glass is very clear, and has few small white inclusions. One has rough overcuts(from the panel cutting on the stem) at the base of the stem that were not polished out. They all ring like a bell, and reverberate for a long time. I imagine their excellent condition is from lack of use from their ungainly size and weight. I have never seen a set in such good condition! Early Hand-Blown Cut Flint Glass Wine #1
Measures approx. 4-1/2" high. 2-1/8" across the top and 2-1/4" across the base. Hand-blown of rather heavy clear flint glass with a few small bubbles, a ground and polished base, and a nice tinkly flinty ring when tapped. Bowl is decorated with eight cut and polished panels. There is one tiny flea-bite nick on inside edge of lip, NO other damage or problems. A good early one, probably 1830-1840 vintage. I combine shipping whenever possible, and normally will ship worldwide within one day of receiving payment. R.I. residents must add 7% sales tax. One has a cut paneled design and both glasses have small bubbles and swirls. The pair date from the 1800s. I am not sure if they are American or European. These appear to have been blown in two gathers joined at the top of the foot; and they all have shallow polished pontils. Each measures 4 1/2" in height and all are in perfect clear condition. 10 19th C. Pittsburgh Blown Cut Flint Glass Champagne Ale flute Goblet Wine Stem
This listing is for a set of ten early 19th Century antique blown and cut Pittsburgh type flint ale glasses from either the Midwest(Pittsburgh) or New England. The bowls are 6-panel cut and terminate into a wafer knop atop a baluster stem. The underside of the feet are concave ground and polished. The glasses vary a bit in dimension. But measure roughly 7 1/2" tall, 2 3/4" across the top, and 3" across the base. The glasses are in very good condition. Two have small chips to the knop, otherwise a few fleabites/nicks(and small misc. as-made inclusions, bubbles, striations, etc. here and there- but on average very clean. Last photos show the worst issues. Please ignore close-up lens distortion that makes the goblets appear crooked in a few shots. Each flute rings nicely when tapped. Antique Blown Glass Footed Wine with Wheel Cut and Engraved Bowl. C. 1820. The wine is a very fine example in flint glass. The wine is blown with an elaborate wheel cut design in the conical shaped bowl with engraved flowers at the top of each cut out. There is also a long stem and a rough pontil on the base. This is a very fine example of early glass with imperfections. Such as bubbles, and striations. Offered here with the opening bid the reserve. DIMENSIONS: The blown wine is 4 9/16" H. x 2 5/16" Dia. at the top and 2 9/16" Dia. at the base. CONDITION: The condition is very good with no damage or repairs. Antique Set 19th C. Hand Blown Cut Flint Glass Rummer Hock Wine Glasses
Available for auction is a set of six hand blown glass rummers. Each glass measures 4" inches tall and holds 6 ounces. The glass have an all over panel cut around the bowls and polished pontil marks on their feet. There is no damage to any of them. But a couple have turned slight purple from sun exposure.
