RUBY RED GOBLET SPA GLASS GERMAN BOHEMIAN ACID ETCHED ANTIQUE This is a personal inscribed Spa Glass from a German/ Austrian patron but made and sold in Bohemia and dated 1846. The inscription says" from" von) Jacob Jhosephig. Probably a Germanized Hungarian name(Austro-Hungarian Empire) BRUN means spring, the Ambrosian spring is in in Marienbad, Czechoslovakia. The glasses were used at the Spas and sold as gifts.You carried your own personal glass every day and drank from them in public rather than the souvenir ceramic glasses purchased at the spas. This obviously made you more important. This goblet measures 6 1/2" tall with a diameter of 3 1/2" sitting on a pedestal base of 3 1/4" There are 5 different spas or tour scenes etched into the glass with the name beneath. This is a thick heavy glass and weighs 1 1/4 ... morepounds. The only obvious damage I see are a few tiny flakes on the middle gallery edges and tiny spots here and there and on the base that you can feel with your finger but they are almost invisible. The one I have pictured is the largest and looks much bigger in the photo. It is in exceptional pre-owned condition for its age with only a little wear on the bottom and no cracks or repairs. The color is dark ruby and varies in some of the photos according to the light. The leafy design is not cut into the glass but is flat and I am not a glass expert so I do not know how this was done. Please feel free to ask questions. Going to the spa was a special occasion for bathing and drinking. Towns were praised for their health giving waters in which the German word-bad- or bath is almost embedded. There were varied waters that sprang directly from the ground. A predictable profusion of classical designs resembling temples with glass enclosed vaulted galleries were constructed 5 of which are represented on this glass.

Antique Green& Gilded Rhine Wine Glasses Presented is a fabulous set of 10 green and gilded Rhine wine glasses. These glasses date to the late 1800s or early 1900s. And are likely German or Bohemian glass, though they could also be Czech. The glasses are done in an interesting design, standing on a tall, open base that flares out at the bottom, like a trumpet. The actual drinking portion of the glass is beautifully hand gilded with a floral design. This set is in great overall condition. One glass has a chip to its base and a minor chip to its rim. Another glass has a small chip on the underside of its base. Another glass has a tiny nick to the underside of the base. The chip on the base which is pointed out in the photo is the worst ... moreone by far. The gilding is in great shape. There are no breaks. No cracks, and no repairs. Up for bid are a Set of 2 Antique German Moser Glass Roemer Wine Goblets. Heckert Era, Bohemian Style. Iridescent Gold/Light Ochre color. Late 19 th century. They have a hollow. Tubular ribbed stem with applied prunts. Unmarked. Both are in GOOD CONDITION with normal wear- one goblet has loss of luster…appears as a“sponge” dab mark on the widest point and some very small spots around the lip…due to age, not damage(see pictures) No chips, cracks or repairs. Glass is 8" tall, clean shiny. Hand painted with gold and dark red floral de sign all over the glass bowl.
