You are bidding on a nice blown 19th c clear glass childs cup. It stands about 2 1/2" tall. The bowl is about 2 7/16" across and the base is about 1 3/4" across. It has a polished pontil. It has a nice attached handle. The bottom of the trailing on the handle looks to have been chipped. Has a sharp feel to it. No other chips, cracks or repairs. Antique 1800s polished base blown glass punch chocolate "CAO" cup w/ gold leaf
Please examine photos. They are THIS item and are part of the description. I do not use stock photos or photos of other people’s items. This is an old(late 1800s? blown glass punch style cup with an applied handle. There are the requisite bubbles in the glass. The"bulbous" bottom was ground/polished to an even flat rim so it would rest evenly. It is 2 1/2" at the rim. The decoration is gold leaf on the handle. Rim and with nice scrolls/leaf work showcasing the capital letters CAO in an old English script. More than initials I wonder if this is/was a European term for chocolate? Cola Cao is a modern day high energy chocolate drink in Spain and CAO is a line of high end designer chocolates in France. After initially photographing the cup I noticed the bottom of the applied handle has a chip.
