Offered for sale is this original nineteenth century STAFFORDSHIRE pottery figural spill vase. It features a large ewe sheep in front of a tree that forms the vase. The sheep has great frit"wool" The vase measures 7" high and 5" across at the base. This piece is in very good estate condition with no chips. Cracks, crazing of the glaze or repairs noted. There are a couple of firing lines on the bottom of the base-not at all an issue but mentioned for accuracy. This fine figural spill vase should be welcome in any collection! Antique Mid 19thc Staffordshire Figure of a Pair of Sheep as a Spill Vase Lovely Staffordshire spill vase with two sheep. One a ram and one a ewe. The spill vase is 4.5 inches to the top of the spill holder and is 5.25 inches long. The sheep stand approx 2 inches high on a rocky mound strewn with porcelain granular grass. The sheep have granular porcelain fleeces. The sheep have gorgeous expressions and are very well modelled. The condition is good with just a branch missing from the tree and some rubbing to the gilt line which runs around the base. These two are just waiting to join a flock! I have here for auction this genuine Victorian Staffordshire figure. The spill vase figure of a deer with antlers also has a pen holder in the base. It's 6.5" tall and 3.5" across the base. Staffordshire spill vase figural group. c1860 dairy maid and lover, well painted
This is a delightful spill vase dating to about 1860. Showing what appears to be a dairy maid(with a milk jug and a basket of eggs) and a kilted suitor holding a colourful bird. The man's jacket is in underglaze cobalt blue and the rest of the painting is overglaze enamel well applied. The piece is in good condition with no cracks or restoration. There is general crazing. A firing fault on the man's hat(see photo) and a very small chip to the edge of the spill holder. Height 21cm.

Description This attractive 19thC Staffordshire pottery Spill Vase depicts Little Red Riding Hood sitting beside a Tree. With a basket on her lap, the Wolf is beside her.There is gilt banding on the front of the base and around the open top of the tree trunk, there is a decorators mark in red on the base. The Vase has some crazing and a star shaped crack to the back near the bottom which curves under the base.There is some flaking to the green paint on the flower at the front. Description This attractive 19th Century Staffordshire pottery spill vase is in the form of a shepherd asleep against a tree trunk with his sheep beside him.
