The 3rd of 3 Jackfield pieces. A wonderful large Jackfield syrup pitcher or jug with gold floral decorations and white. Pink, teal green, and coral enamel raised decoration. This pitcher dates to the early 1800's and is in good condition for its age, with only minor wear, this can be seen in the pictures. Jackfield pitchers are known for their glossy black glaze over red clay and were mostly made in the Jackfield area near Shropshire. England, though excavations have shown that they were also made in Staffordshire in the 1800's. In good condition for its age and is a striking piece. It weighs 894 grams. VICTORIAN JACKFIELD WARE SMALL BLACK TEAPOT HAND ENAMELLED FLOWERS & BUTTERFLIES
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This attractive small Victorian Jackfield Ware teapot has been beautifully hand enamelled and gilded with colourful flowers and butterflies giving a slight raised texture to the surface; it has a number and 3 dots on the base. It is made from terracotta with a high black gloss finish commonly called Jackfield/Jet Ware in the late 19th century. The teapot is in nice condition, a minute 1mm x 2mm shallow nick to the rim of the spout has been very neatly restored and is barely noticeable, no other chips, cracks or restoration, the gilding is good just some minor wear to one side of the handle; measures 16cm high, 14cm wide across spout and handle, overall a lovely example with beautiful colouring.
