The item you are viewing is a Antique Etruscan Vase with a Horse& Chariot Design. The vase measures approx. 15.25. ins tall. The vase is in good condition with out any cracks, chips or restoration, having just some light ware to the gilding on the base and a lightened spot above the chariot driver all of which in my opinion is not detrimental but being mentioned for accuracy(See Photo's) Items shall be posted within 2 days of cleared payment. CHILDS TOY SAMUEL ALCOCK MINIATURE PUCE DECORATED TEAPOT C1840
Very lovely and delicate little Childs Toy Teapot standing 3 1/4" high to handle top- no makers marks but I would date it around 1840. The knop on the lid has been glued back- I am not certain it is the original one as it does not have the steam hole- probably from the Sugar but fits snugly. There is a really fine and hard to spot hairline around the top of the handle- a couple on the body(all very secure) and the odd light stain mark Displaying beautifully and very pretty! Please look at my pics and email me with any questions you have thanks. I am always happy to combine mailing to keep costs low thank you.
Rare 19thc Samuel Alcock&co Hill pottery company Burslem urn / vase
Rare 19thc Samuel Alcock&co Hill pottery company Burslem urn/ vase A porcelain vase decorated with scenes depicting'The Nuptials of Paris and Helen' From a design by Samuel Alcock(1799-1848) The vase was manufactured in the 1860s by the Hill Pottery Company which operated from Samuel Alcock's original works. The Staffordshire pottery firm of Samuel Alcock& Co operated at two locations within the town of Stoke-on-Trent. Cobridge(1828-1853) and a site known as the Hill Potterys in Burslem(1830-1859) The Nuptials of Paris and Helen' vase was produced in a range of colours, with versions by the firm being titled on the underside and marked for the firm's initials, S A& Co' The pottery works were taken over around 1861 under the name of the Hill Pottery Company. Alcocks earlier designs were likewise continued. ... moreAs evidenced by this particular vase, although the products were now marked with the new company's trademark'JSH' However, the company's period of production was relatively shortlived, and they were put into liquidation in 1867. Alcock and Diggory subsequently took over the former Hill Pottery's china department, while Burgess and Leigh took over the firm's earthenware department which they operated until relocating to the purpose-built Middleport Works in 1899. This is a single handled urn- Decorated with neo-classical banding in gilt. Lapis, orange, brown and green around neck and foot. Body depicts five coloured scenes from the nuptials of Paris and Helen on lapis background. Moulded head where gilded handle meets body of vase. There are chips to the top and bottom rim andan old staples repaired(see photo) Size 22cm high.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d72f%2Bf7%60%3E-14574982025-0x112-
