Antique 19thC Staffordshire God Speed the Plough Harvest Mug Transfer Print
Antique 19thC Staffordshire God Speed the Plough Harvest Mug Transfer Print Click the photographs to enlarge. Colours may differ due to any flash used. This item is FREE TRACKED shipping- postage to any country. This is an early transfer print glaze mug. An harvesting commemorative theme. It looks to me like the transfer print is unusually. Over the glaze. Black transfer with the words"God Speed the Plough. Success to the Farmer, Health Peace and Plenty, In God is our Trust. Here is the sheaf the staff of life, come buy and youl have plenty. For evry year it is in bloom, your house will near be empty" It is'off' colour. This type of staining normally occurs when someone puts crockery into an oven.the sort of oven that was next to the fire.not a modern oven. this mug probably had something like milk in it and was placed in ... morethe hearth/ oven. It stands at height 3. 1/2 inches. I've not seen a mug the same as this one. I've seen similar ones, but not the same. In terrible condition some would say. in fact it is a real wonder why it has not be thrown out. its really stained and it has 2 massive cracks up it.from being heated in the oven. It does have cracks in the body and on the handle and small chips, but restorable and this rare little mug is so good it just needs someone to take care of it. I would much rather see these cracks then you know where you are with it.it is in terrible condition really.but I do think it is worthy of being collected. See close up pics. 19thC Antique Victorian Staffordshire Flatback 13" Lge Watch Stand Figure Group
19thC Antique Victorian Staffordshire Flatback 13" Lge Watch Stand Figure Group This is a fabulous antique Staffordshire pottery figure group. Made by one of the Stoke-on-Trent potteries in the 19th century. This is a large ornamental flatback figurine. Made as a watch stand or holder, with a small cup at the top for gentlemen to leave their pocket watch at night. There are three elegantly posed ladies in colourful hand-painted costumes, framing a central flower=adorned column, topped by two yellow birds. The figurine is in great condition. With just a couple of minor faults- there is a chip to the skirt on the left-hand edge, which someone has attempted to disguise, and the tips of the birds' crests seem to be slightly damaged. Apart from the usual age-related crazing and a few spots of colour missing, there is no other damage; ... morethe piece is unmarked, as was common. The piece measures about 32 cm/12.75" high and 24 cm/9.5" across. And weighs 1381 gms, and I estimate the packaged weight will be 1800 gms. Please ask any questions. And thanks for looking! Pottery Cow Creamer Pearlware Spongeware Victorian Staffordshire 19thC Antique
Pottery Cow Creamer Pearlware Spongeware Victorian Staffordshire 19thC Antique This is a lovely old piece of very early 19th century pottery. The cow creamer was a popular addition to kitchen dinnerware. Being a charming vessel in the form of a cow that would dispense cream/milk. However many were famous for causing lead poisoning and salmonella due to unhygienic lead glazes. The piece is in good condition for its age. However there are various signs of wear such as tiny little marks of discolouration or surface scratches and tiny chips to the tips of the ears- however there are no cracks or major structural damages. The creamer would have originally had a stopper/lid. It measures approximately 17cm wide by 11cm tall. I have included many photographs to give you a detailed impression of the pieces quality and condition- these act as part ... moreof the description so please look carefully at them. It is up to you.
