SIZE: He is approximately 9.5 inches tall. She is approximately 8.75 inches tall. CONDITION: There is a hairline on the back of the base of the man- the pen is pointing to it in the close up picture. This is a superb& rare example of an early antique. Victorian Staffordshire. `Queen Victoria on Horse-Back` Figure. made in the Staffordshire Potteries, and dating from circa. 1840. The figure is superbly modelled, in the round, as the young Queen Victoria on horse-back. The figure is sitting side-saddle, her right hand behind the horse`s head, her left arm across her waist, holding the reins, wearing a bonnet with head scarf and a long dress, the order of the garter can be seen on the left side of her chest) decorated with both over-glaze& under-glaze `cobalt-blue` enamels, and applied floral& `parsley` decoration, as shown in the photos. A quality figure. as several moulds would have been used to create the figure`s arms. the horse`s legs, tail& head. Antique Victorian Staffordshire Mustard Pot Lady Figure 4½"
You are viewing a very unusual 19th century Staffordshire lady figure holding a mustard pot. For its age it is in great condition. There is however some light wear to the guilt detailing, a hairline crack on the back of the figure which runs round to the side of the mustard pot, it appears to nbe under the glaze as when you run your finger over it, it feels smooth. There is a chip on the underside of the lid. I have included many pictures so you can asses the condition of the piece thoroughly. 19thC Antique Victorian Staffordshire Flatback 13" Lge Watch Stand Figure Group This is a fabulous antique Staffordshire pottery figure group. Made by one of the Stoke-on-Trent potteries in the 19th century. This is a large ornamental flatback figurine. Made as a watch stand or holder, with a small cup at the top for gentlemen to leave their pocket watch at night. There are three elegantly posed ladies in colourful hand-painted costumes, framing a central flower=adorned column, topped by two yellow birds. The figurine is in great condition. With just a couple of minor faults- there is a chip to the skirt on the left-hand edge, which someone has attempted to disguise, and the tips of the birds' crests seem to be slightly damaged. Apart from the usual age-related crazing and a few spots of colour missing, there is no other damage; ... morethe piece is unmarked, as was common. An attractive antique/Victorian Staffordshire figural group depicting a young couple. The figure stands 12.5 cms high with a 5 cms base. It weighs approximately 169 grams. The figures are dressed in brightly coloured clothing. The boy is dressed in a cobalt blue jacket and stripped coloured'skirt' and is holding an orange scarf. The girl is wearing a deep orange top and a pink and light green pinafore dress. Each of the couple's faces are delicately painted some areas faded in parts. For its age. The figure is in a good condition without any chips or cracks or restoration work. The paintwork has faded in parts. Namely to the face areas and part of the lady's right arm. A lovely Victorian piece of decorative ceramic with a very low starting price.
