Bactrian Bone Spindle Whorls 45cm 18 inch strand
This old strand came out of the middle east about 15 years ago and is in great condition for its age. I have left the strand just like I got it from an old Afgani trader. Those of you who are into this type of material know what you are looking at so I will not try any fancy descriptions that might just make me look foolish. I am not an expert. Just someone who has been on the hunt for rare beads most of my life and was lucky enough to find a few treasures along the way. These beauties range from 8 to 27mm. in diameter and 5 to 16mm. wide. The strand is 45cm.18 inches) long, beads only. The US postal service just raised their rate for a small flat rate international box to $23.95. Until I can change all of my listings to reflect this new price consider this the rate for international priority shipping. I can ship First Class mail for less ... morethan half this price for small items up to 8 ounces.

2 Strings Of Pottery Beads-Spindle Whorls Some Engraved {Mexico} N.R.!!
Up for sale are two strings of pottery beads or spindle whorls from Mexico. I bought these several yrs.apart. Medieval England / Tudor Era Lead Spindle Whorls -- English Metal Detector Find,
This lot of lead spindle whorls was purchased from a collector in England who told me they were dug up in Yorkshire. Specifically. I've done nothing to clean them, so what you see is what you get. A spindle whorl(according to Wikipedia) is"a disc or spherical object fitted onto the spindle to increase and maintain the speed of the spin. For ages the whorls have been made of many different materials: amber. Antler, bone, coral, glass, metal(iron, lead, lead alloy) and wood(oak) Some types of local materials have been also used, such as chalk, limestone, mudstone, sandstone, slate, and soapstone. These are not uncommon items. And many treasure hunters in the UK have uncovered these in farm fields. Sold as is, your purchase includes all four. I don't have a COA to pass along. You can use these in your medieval/ Anglo Saxon reenactment ... moreor use them as I did, as paperweights on your desk! I am downsizing my personal antiquities collection. So be sure to check out my other listings for some great deals. All sales final. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d71f%2B0a7%3E-1444c1e157e-0x101-

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR NECKLACE OF SPINDLE WHORLS BEADS ANCIENT
PRE COLUMBIAN NECKLACE ECUADOR SPINDLE WHORLS ANCIENT Spindle whorls used in textile production are linked to female activityand female identity. Some have aritual significance also and this necklace seems to have a baby wrapped in a blanket hanging from the bottom. I do not know if this was the original arrangement or not as it has been restrung on knotted modern black cord with the"baby" hanging from mono filament loop. This 19 inch necklace is composed of 24 pottery clay spindle whorls from anient Ecuador. It is from a private collection and the owner purchased it in Ecuador in this condition many years ago. The necklace was in with La Tolita fragments 300 B.C. 500 A.D. and some Jamacoaque fragments 500 A.D. to 1000 A.D. so I cannot positivitely identify the culture. The whorls have been strung mostly alternating bell shaped ... moreand round disks some with incised designs and a few(2) ball shaped whorls. Many bell shaped whorls have original red pigment with the larger ones measuring 1 1/8 inch wide and one at 1 1/4 inches wide. About 7 have damage and are chipped but retain their original shape and I have tried to picture some. The remainiing 17 are in excellent condition considering the age with no or very little visible damage. The"baby" as I call it measures 3 inches long and is smooth on the back. You can see the face and arms but the body seems trussed. 1?RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d72f%2B%3E%3B1%3F-146a88a8a1f-0x113-
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR NECKLACE SPINDLE WHORLS AUTHENTIC 20 INCHES
PRE COLUBIAN ECUADOR NECKLACE SPINDLE WHORLS AUTHENTIC Eight very detailed small spindle whorls approximately the size of a nickle coin fashioned into a 20" long necklace. Purchased from a private U.S. collection and in with La Tolita and Jamacoaque fragments. these spindle whorls are authentic Pre Columbian. The white round beads and green small beads are fashioned out of some white chalky substance with a slick shiney coating. At first the green beads resembled stone but one is chipped and the green coating is off and the same white chalk like substance is underneath. See the photogrtaph. The green beads show lots of debris as do the spndle whorls but I cannot say what or how old they are as this has been restrung with contemporary white string and a silver metal hook. The round crystal beads are definitely contemporary in my opinion ... morebut added to make a wearable necklace. The small greenish stone figure at the bottom resembles some kind of animal either real or mythical with what appears to be large ears and three fingered hands and toes It is 1 1/4 inches high and looks authentic and has tiny crystaline inclusions that reflect the light. Much of the ancient pottery I have has these inclusions also but old stone is old stone. I am not an expert and will guarantee only that the spindle whorls are authentic and if the rest is so much the better. Exellent condition with only some of the round chalk like and green beads having chips. The spindle whorls are not damaged and have lots of debris in the lines which has been retained.

The field of Sahara Neolithic Artifacts was expanded by the advent of GPS technology available to meteorite hunters in the Sahara Desert. Thousands of years ago North Africa was a temperate environment similar to our own Great Plains. Countless generations of Stone-Age Man lived. Hunted, fought and died there, leaving behind their weapons and tools. Today, North Africa consists largely of the Sahara Desert, an inhospitable area almost the size of the United States. African Ancient White Agate Beads Necklace with antique spindle whorls Mali
Very eye catching necklace to wear! A lovely new design by Beadart-Austria Wonderful ancient and antique beads from the Arican Trade have been assembled in this necklace with a few new metal accents. The white agate beads from Nigeria have become very rare and are considered collector's beads. I have had the good chance to aquire a double strand of these exquisite beads. The are hand drilled from both sides. A sure sign of age. The off white of the agate beads matches perfectly with copper and brass accent beads and five antique spindle whorls from Mali. Each whorl is made from clay and has been in use. Not the new tourist production. Nicks and little split offs on almost each bead- see photos. But they all have a differnt shape, shapes I have never seen before in the newer beads. A new assemblage of ancient/antique beads with the antique ... moreauthentic feel when wearing the necklace! Length with chain 57 cm- 22 inches more photos are available on request! PAYMENT IS TO BE MADE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION END! Unpaid item cases will be opened thereafter! Please bear in mind that the majority of the beads and ethnic elements I use are OLD or ANTIQUE. Even ANCIENT! The show wear and age. I usually mention any defaults in my descriptions but I can overlook a minuscule old chip or dent. As this has happened recently and resulted in a severe dispute with the buyer I want to point out again that I do not use NEW material(except if stated) and that ethnic elements, old jewelry parts, etc. might have very minor defaults NOT specially mentioned in the description. I do not accept this as a reason for a return claiming that the item does not correspond to the description. I had to increase shipping c

Lot Pre Columbian Pottery Vessels Stamps Spindle Whorls Bowl Vase Pot Ecuador?
Great lot of what I have been told are authentic. Pre Columbian pottery artifacts.
