This brass pitcher came from an auction in Vermont. It is marked Sarna India 206 12 on the base. It has an engraved colored design. The colors aren't quite as vibrant as the first two flash pictures show. It measures 12 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" from the handle to the tip of the spot. It holds liquid well. There is tarnishing and some wear marks. It weighs just over 2 pounds.

This is a remarkable and very beautiful large silver wine decanter of stunning design. The ewer has a superb curved and ridged neck with a wide flared pouring spout and lid with a horse finial. The horse ... morewalking on grassed ground. The neck of the decanter curves gently and widens as it turns and ends in a wonderful scroll above the oval base. The ewer has a beautiful ribbed handle with chased acanthus leaves that goes from just below the top of the neck to the top of the scroll. The decanter is large. It is 7-1/2 inches/ 191 mm wide and 4-1/2 inches/ 114 mm deep. It stands 13-1/2 inches/ 343 mm high and weighs 841 grams. The decanter has clear hallmarks- lion passant crown and letter H for Sheffield 1851. Duty mark and maker's mark HW for Henry Wilkinson. The decanter is in excellent condition with no dents. We are offering for sale an important provincial silver ewer made in Birmingham and bearing hallmarks for the first year of the Birmingham Assay Office. This George III period ewer is superbly made and is decorated with acanthus leaves around the top of the neck and around the base of the body. This pitcher was probably made for hot water or as a coffee pot as the wicker bound handle would protect the user from the heat. The important hallmarks are in fine clear condition. Birmingham Assay Office was formed in 1773 mainly due to the efforts of Matthew Boulton. The Soho factory belonging to Matthew Boulton was intent upon speeding up production and cutting down the costs of manufacturing top quality silver items. Victorian Hand Painted Art Glass Ewer Pitcher Jug Fireglow Boston & Sandwich
Wonderful Early American Hand Painted Art Glass Vase. This is a wonderful hand painted art glass ewer/ pitcher with opaque satin glass finish to the outside and creamy"fireglow" interior. This glass was called"fireglow" due to the fiery illumination of the glass when held up to bright light. This ewer/ pitcher is most likely by Boston& Sandwich Glass Co. of Massachusettes. The company went out of business in 1888. The ewer has a wonderful brightly painted bird and floral scene on the front. The back is not decorated. The handle has a minor rough spot at the bottom where applied. And appears to be from manufacture, but may have chipped after, but it is smooth and if not upon making, occured shortly after. see photo#5 for details) Otherwise in wonderful condition. This Victorian sterling silver claret jug was designed by Dr Christopher Dresser the well known industrial designer and was made by Hukin& Heath for whom he worked. It is very clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1893 and is in very good condition with no damage to glass or silver. The plain glass has a star burst to the base. The silver top has a circular hinged lid which works perfectly and closes tightly. The angular and substantial handle is firmly fixed. A lovely piece from this very collectable designer. It remains in near mint condition- due to the fact it still lives in its original box- and it is very finely decorated. You will have to search long and hard to find a nicer solid sterling silver wine or water jug. It measures approximately 12.5 inches(32cm) tall and tips the scales at a very solid 811g Beautifully decorated with engraved flowers and foliage that go all around the jug- leaves top. Flowers bottom this jug also boasts ... morea beautiful relief(of Dionysus or Bacchus? at the base of the elegantly scrolling handle(which has bone heat barriers so it can be picked up and poured safely even if the contents are hot) The lid is also beautifully shaped and decorated- thought has gone into every part of this item's design. Everything fits properly as it should. The hinge is perfect, and there is NO damage at all that I can find- I think this has probably lived in it's box for a significant proportion of it's life. Things like this were made to be used though and appreciated and enjoyed so please don't buy it and put it away- use it and let it fulfil it's intended purpose. There are two final parts to the decoration- a wonderfully engraved coat of arms with the Latin motto'Vivere Sat Vincere' can be found to the front of this piece. And the date'3rd June 1869' is engraved in flowing script on the neck of the jug facing the handle. The box appears to be totally original and remains in good condition for its age although there is some wear and tear to the hinges and cloth. Up for your consideration is this amazingly beautiful extremely rare antique Austrian reticulated porcelain ewer. At first glance it appears to be a J Fischer or Zsolnay Budapest porcelain piece. In fact its done in the style of Budapest porcelain but my research says it was made by Joesef Steidl of pre world war one Austria in the city of Znaim now Znojmo Czech Republic. Antique John Maddock Royal Vitreous China Chamber Pot and Ewer 1860 Poppy HUGE!
These gorgeous pieces of Royal Vitreous were made by John Maddock and Sons. In England, circa 1860. The pattern is POPPY. The background is white with a lot of gold, and the poppies in bright deep blue. The ewer is 11 inches tall. And measures 9 1/2 inches from the edge of the handle to the tip of the spout. The top opening is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The widest part of the body measures 7 1/2 inches. Trimmed in gold at the upper edges. The chamber pot. Or slop pot, stands a tall 13 1/2 inches, with the lid. It is 10 1/2 inches from handle tip to handle tip. It is 10 1/2 inches in diameter. A fabulous piece! The box of tissues are NOT included. A Very Rare Celadon Ewer Incised and Carved Lid-13 th C. Korea. Koryo Period, 12 th-13 th Century. This unusual/rare shape of ewer has low mouth with a drop lid. This one has a tall, straight mouth with a cover. The existing lid is not original to the ewer probablely) The body of globular form resting on raised circular base and molded with a slightly curved spout and loop handle with attachment ring. The lid(not an original lid with the ewer) is in the shape of an upside-down lotus flower. The lid knob is in the form of a lotus blossom just unfurling from the bud. This ewer has a rich. Koryo period, 12 th Century, The graceful melon-form ewer with looped handle and arched spout has eight lobes rising from a flat foot with a slightly recessed base.
