ATQ RARE Vogel Cast Iron Frostless Toilet Oak Plank Seat Cover Wall Mount 1800's
Antique I believe most likely a Vogel Cast Iron Frostless Toilet includes everything! This was mounted in my back room of my home built in the late 1800's and by 1900 the home was used as a hospital. This is a gravity flush toilet which has it's own flange to bolt the entire toilet to the floor. There is a box in the kitchen where the plumbing was connected to turn the water off and on. The water ran downhill into the basin to flush. I have not found the patent or marks in the cast iron. There are some rust marks in the porcelain bowl from the well water which I have not tried to soak out which runs down the inside of the toilet. There are no cracks. The large oak wall mounting piece held the hinged seat and cover. All hinges are still there and the plumbing needed to hook up again. One pipe is hand hewn to curve into the bowl opening ... morewhile the second longer pipe hooked up to the kitchen faucet water outlet. Antique 1912 Hook and Bathroom Cup/Toothbrush Holder from Great Grandfather
This listing is for a hook and an antique cup and toothbrush that was used in my Great-Grandfathers home in Northfork. West Virginia. My grandparents removed them from the Wright home and used them in their own home for years in the bathroom. When my grandparents moved from their home my mother took these items for her home. IL am not an antique expert so I really do not know the metal that is used in the construction. Perhaps you can tell from the photos and the fact that they are very old. Marked on the back of the hook are the words Patented April 22 1912. LANDERS FRARY& CLARK"UNIVERSAL" New Britain. Vintage Halsey Taylor 3 station(has space for 4th) cast iron porcelain school drinking fountain. Halsey Taylor is one of the leading manufacturers of drinking fountains today. Company founder Halsey W. Taylor invented the non-squirting drinking fountain. In 1896. Taylor's father died from typhoid fever. This illness is principally spread through contaminated drinking water. The biggest iron one has a 3/8 inch center hole. Its 3-1/2 inches across and a perfect circle. Its in good vintage condition. The other iron one has a 1/4 inch center hole. Its 3 inches across and is a little fancy. Its in good vintage condition. The porcelain ones are newer and in good condition. All 4 look just like the pictures. Very Nice Haws Made In U.S.A. Large Basin Water Fountain. Or Drinking Fountain. Basin is Porcelain with a Momentary faucet under the basin. This is a larger fountain at 13.5" long 9" high and 7.5" across. Porcelain is in excellent condition, no chips cracks or crazing. Water spigot is present and has some age patina,and needs to be tightened. Momentary faucet works properly, but may need new seals? As it has not been tested, and has been setting for some time. Faucet outside has build up of old paint that can be removed. I do not have the down/ Drain spout. Would look great in a Garden/ Patio Area, but also clean enough for the home. Antique 1890's Carrera Marble Vanity with Backsplash. Valance and Ornate Brass Leg. The top dimensions are 33 1/2" x 22" the backsplash is 12" the valance is 4" and the leg is 29" tall. This is a great looking complete vanity set with aged painted patina and finish. The top does have some discoloration and a hairline crack on the left of the bowl(see pictures) and the two valances are cracked but complete. The backsplashes and the valances have been painted over, and we stripped a small section and the marble appears to be in great shape. The valance wall mounts and the leg are brass and in great condition with the original lacquered finish that can be easily removed to bring out the original luster. My husband is a Master Plumber and he was shocked when he was doing a water service and came across one of these buried about 6 feet down in his customers front yard. It was in tact which is very rare because it is about 150 years old as this is how water used to be delivered many many years ago in Bay City MI. The customer did not want a piece of history so my husband brought it home in hopes that someone out there would appreciate it as he did. It was wrapped in iron strapping which was rotting off due to age but the tar is still left behind showing where the iron was wrapped. One of the ends are damaged and we are very surprised that this is all that is damaged but being that it is over 150 years old- it is very understandable. Old Time Oak Toilet Tank Part, Brass Lever for Flushing Mechanisim
This lot offers the hinged brass lever and white porcelain knob shown in the photographs. This is part of an early flushing mechanism for the first flushing toilets. The brass lever measures 8 1/2 inches long. I am not certain how this would have been arranged in the tank as modern toilets do not have a part such as this. The nickle plated ring that would have shown from the outside of the tank is present but pitted. The white porcelain handle is also present. The handle slips in and out and there is a set screw or some locking mechanism missing that would have kept the handle from pulling out. I did not find a makers mark. Only the letters"M-VD" It is an interesting piece and hopefully someone will be able to put it to good use!
