Antique Plumbing Tub Deep Sink Faucets & Drain Stopper 1" Pipe 3-1/2" On Centers
Antique plumbing tub or deep sink faucet. It is used and in very good antique condition with some minor roughness on the handles which could be replaced. There is some roughness on the metal drain chain plate. The faucets appear to be a cast metal(not iron) as a maginet won't stick to it. I believe it is chrome over brass although I cannot see any brass showing through any where. It is complete with washers and pipe nuts. The pipe ends are 1" and it is 3-1/2" center to center. This model was available in the early 1900's but I could find no specific age stamped on it. There is some crazing in the glaze, mostly on the interior of the bowl(see pics) There are some stains in the bowl as well. There are also some stress cracks along the sides near each mounting hole, and a few up on top near the spud(see pics) This type of crack is common to fixtures of this age, especially from some of the'boutique' manufacturers of the time. From my experience these are ... morenot structural. There are a tiny chips/scuffs here and there. But overall this is in nice shape. The original spud is included. It is about 30 inches tall. This is a very attractive in tact Cast Iron Drinking Water Fountain probably from the 1920s. I was told this once was at the Euclid Beach Amusement Park just East of Cleveland. Ohio.but now the Euclid Beach people cannot confirm it.but I had an old timer look at it and said that one just like it was in his public grade school. I do remember seeing drinking fountains like this in some of the old movies. If anyone can tell me more about this piece- I would really appreciate it. Architectural salvage from an old home in Brenham. Texas. Either from"W. N. Froy& Sons Limited" Founded in 1850, or"N. Froy& Sons Limited" founded in 1978(I'm not sure which) The latter has a website. The cord leading to the shower head is plastic or rubber(not brass) These are sturdy fixtures. And weigh about 15 pounds in total. The large fixture measures approximately 8" from outer porcelain edge to outer porcelain edge; the exposed portion of the small fixtures(that is, not counting the pipe) is approximately 5" from top to bottom. Some of the brass is scratched and nicked. With green corrosion. Mystery vtg plumbing bathtub fixture part ? finial brass stearmpunk decor chrome
This item fascinates me. I have been trying for a long time to figure out what it is. The best I can come up with is some part for perhaps a claw foot bathtub. The chrome(if that is what it is) has a beautiful patina. I am quite sure it must be brass under the chrome as magnet does not stick to it. In fact a magnet will not stick to the screw\ or the nut. The nut looks like it could have been hand forged. The screw is 1 3/8" long and is embedded in the decorative part. The diameter of the base is 2 inches. Not including the screw. The decorative part is 3 3/4" long. I love the fact that there is a little arm with a ring. If you know what this was used for I would appreciate knowing even if you are not interested in bidding. This is a very rare and ornate piece which was used to plug the drain hole in a sink back before the days of the built-in stoppers. These would usually have a nice chain attached to the ring located on the top so it would remain by the sink and not get lost. The stopper has a very ornately carved top. It's green patina adds highlights to the carvings making it a very eye-catching piece. It is a very heavy piece.
