The porcelain cap/knob is clearly marked"waste" and appears that it would turn in one direction to hold the bath water. The other to drain it. The cap is attached(permanently as far as I can tell) to a nickel hardware fixture that is a total of 2.5" in length and 1.5" in diameter. There are two nipples on either side of the tube that I assume are for securing the fixture to one position(hold water) or another(drain water) In the lot where this came from is a long porcelain escutcheon(5" tall; 2.5" diameter at one end; 4" diameter at the other) that looks like a mini nuclear plant tower. I purchased these old and antique porcelain Bathroom Plumbing fixtures. With a lot of brass hardware for them at an auction, and I know nothing about these things. All of the porcelain thingies, except for one piece is in excellent condition. The one piece has what looks like a surface crack, which however doesn't go through to the other side. One piece has"Standard" on it, and there are 2 buttons with"H" and"C" which are brass-enclosed. I have no idea to what kind of sink or bathtub/shower these go to. My guess, for what it's worth, is that these pieces are probably from the 1900's or so. Winning bidder pays shipping. And I'll ship this as cheaply as possible. This auction is for an assorted lot of old bathroom hardware. The 2 prettier pieces are what I am calling a shaving tray which I think hangs from the wall below the mirror and used to hold shaving brushes and razors etc. Also there is a nice cup and 4 toothbrush holder. They seem to be made of the same heavy metal which does not attack a magnet. I am just not certain of the metal name. There is also a rack that holds a metal soap dish( both included) They do not attack a magnet and are also a heavy substantial metal but not as ornate as first 2 pieces. Antique Solid Oak Toilet Seat Lid Nickel Brass Hardware Old Vtg Bathroom 4354-15
This is a great old solid oak complete toilet seat and lid with the original nickel plated brass hardware. These are hard to find. There are some very minor separations at the joints otherwise it is in great shape. It is missing a few of its rubber stoppers other than that it is complete. The mounting hardware looks like it has been repaired on one side, it appears to be a quality repair and feels strong. The nickel plating is worn, scratched, scuffed, and has some oxidization. It looks like someone has refinished it some years ago. Overall good condition. Please look over the pictures and ask questions when needed. Thanks for looking.
