It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. I am not positive of the boxes origin but I believe this is Folk Art. There ... moreare hand painted tulips on the edges and hand painted white flowers used in early American art. The measurements are 17 inches wide or long. 9 1/2 inches in height, and 7 1/2 inches deep. The chest/ Box weighs 11 pounds. It does have wear which is to be expected for it's age. The paint on the flowers have faded in some places, there are a few cracks on the wood, one is on the bottom(does not go all the way through, and one is on the inside of the lid. Wood shrinks with age and cracks are normal. There are a few places where wood has chipped off(one on the foot) the lock is missing and there is a heavy patina especially the places that would get the most use(by the handles. The front side has a darker patina(see 2nd picture) than the back side, it was probably sitting up against a wall and was covered on the top. The feet did have felt pads at one time. The rivets(or nails) are old type nails. It is made very well, it is very heavy and sturdy and it closes fine. It is a very beautiful piece whatever its origin is and the paint job is intricate and looks like it was very time consuming. Please email with any questions I will be glad to help. Vintage Birds Eye Maple Queen Anne Lowboy Chest Salesman's Sample
This wonderful little Queen Anne style lowboy was used for years as a jewelry box by an elderly relative. It is made of birds eye maple and has dovetailed drawers and glue blocks on the joints. Just like a full size chest. It measures 5" x 10-1/2" x 8" high. It is in excellent condition. The top has a little bow to it, but not bad. I'm not sure of its origin, but I know where it has been for the last 50 years or so.

We have a very unique historical Swiss Red Cross Trunk offered. It's nice because we have historical information attached to the trunk- we have a signed document which will be included with the trunk which gives an interesting history to the piece. In case you are unable to clearly read the document- summary as follows: The prior owner of the trunk is 70+ years old and obtained the trunk around 1970. He had a tenant. At the time, of Hungarian descent who had come to the U.S. from Hungary via Switzerland. She had obtained the trunk from the Swiss Red Cross as part of their effort to assist Hungarian citizens escape communist oppression. He obtained the trunk from her. Antique Steamer Chest Trunk, rounded top
I picked up this chest with the intentions of restoring it but just don't have the time. I do not know much about these other than the fact that they look cool. I have no idea how old it is. Who made it, or what it's worth. The measurements are as follows: 30" W x 19" D x 21" H. I especially like the metal hardware on this chest and it seems to be in good condition. The leather straps are long gone, the interior has dried up and disappeared, and the wood is pretty rough. This item is available for local pickup only, feel free to contact me with any questions.

Large Antique German Hand Painted Legged Wedding Chest Trunk
Up for sale is a beautiful large sized German hand painted wedding chest measuring 32" tall. 49" long and 26" deep. I had sent over by container from England to the States. I am not sure about the year of this chest. There is one wooden bar inside the side of the chest to hold the top open with four small legs each measuring 2" tall.The outside is painted in a maroon color with floral designs in blues and greens. The backside of the trunk is painted in a light blue color as shown in the picture. This would be a lovely storage chest for blankets or clothing. There is definite wear on the outside and inside of this chest that I think only adds to its great patina. Any questions.just ask. Antique Small Pine Chest with Brass Stud Details, Mid-1800s - 7" by 7" by 12"
Very charming. Small antique travel trunk made of pine and leather trim with decorative brass studs. It appears it was originally fully covered in leather but, as it aged, someone with some artistic ability trimmed the worn pieces to highlight the stud work. The box is sturdy and has its original hardware and interior lining. The box belonged to someone with the initials"W T" as you can see on the front, in brass studs. The box shows considerable wear and tear but is. Nonetheless, thoroughly charming. There are scratches, banged-up corner, missing leather and a bent hatch on the lock(no key) but it all adds up delightfully. The box measures, including the studs, 12 1/2" across by 7 1/4" tall by 7 1/2" deep. I did my best to capture the style and quality in pictures. Antique Steamer Chest - Solid Wood- Very Heavy - Circa Early 1800's
Solid wood and metal. Very heavy antique Steamer truck w rollers. Trunk was found in the early 1900's in an old lake front cottage in upstate NY. It is estimated to be from the early to mid 1800's. Possibly older. Trunk is 100% original and has had nothing replaced. Handles are both missing but rest of trunk appears to be intact. Was offered $50 for the metal hinges and decor but I would rather sell it whole in hopes that the right person will renovate the trunk and allow it to live on. This is a very unique item that serves the function of a coffee table. Nightstand or storage for personal items. Selling this antique blanket chest. Appears to be handmade with typical style hand cut dovetailed corners. It has had the hinges replaced. Bottom has had tin reinforcement added. Top half of latch is missing. Cleats are present but no insert is included. Unique wood prop for the lid is attached. Brass on corners of lid. Steel wheels- I'm not sure if they are original. Has aged fairly well and is still a solid sturdy piece. Finish shows some wear. Offered is a great Vintage Handcrafted Solid Walnut 6 Board Primitive Mortise and Tenon Corners Blanket Chest with Till and Turned Legs. This piece is a wonderful example of handcrafted woodworking form the past. It's age is unknown but it is older. I have included as many pictures as possible although I do have several more that I can/will send if you are interested. I will also be happy to take and send pictures of any portion of the chest you might wish to see more closely or in more detail. The finish appears to be original and it displays a wonderful patina. If you ... morelook at picture#5 above there is some minor powder post damage from sometime in the past(I see no evidence of any current activity) along the bottom edge of the board on the back of the chest. 2. The top of the piece of lumber being the front of the chest has bowed a bit outward which currently does not allow the lid to close completely. When closed the profiled trim on the lid rests on the top of the chests box. This can be observed by looking closely at the last picture above. Again. For your consideration is this truly unique folk art decorated wood Carpenter Tool Chest. It has many carvings including 3 initials" MFA" on the raised top. The sides and front have carved diamond shapes and crude faux wood graining. There are several layers of old original paint giving this trunk its great patina. The chest measures 38 inches wide by 19 inches deep by 18 1/2 inches high. There are several metal parts in the lid which were used to hold tools.
